Online Advice and puddle pump review
I used the online chat to seek advice before purchasing. It was prompt and useful. The puddle pump and hose I chose was for occasional refilling of two 1000 litre IBCs' from a stream. The pump is easy to carry, set up and use and I am very pleased with the purchase.

This is quite possibly the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life.
I bought EGO 500 SELS Automatic Puddle Pump and paid for 24 hour delivery on the 21st July. The Pump turned up on the 25th July. I had to chase them whilst on holiday for updates and whilst their sales team will answer calls, their customer service team will not answer any calls and there is no number for them. Once I was back from holiday on the 2nd August I tested the pump.
The pump does not work at all. I have tried to call this company and both their phone lines and website state they are having a summer break and will be back on the 14th August. They don't even seem like a real company?
Hopefully, I will get my money back and they won't use the fact they have chosen not to work as a way to wriggle out of the 14-day returns.
Please save yourselves the trouble and buy anywhere else, just not from this company.

Within your basket, you sell delivery as a 24 hour delivery, but you make no reference to this within your Delivery Terms. You instead refer to a Next Day Delivery, so you’re intentionally mis-leading your customers.
You should make potential customers aware that you do not offer any phone customer service or aftersales. This is very poor and not to the standard any customer would expect. I can confirm that you attempted no trouble shooting, your initial response was to just blame me.
I asked you and your colleagues for a call but was constantly ignored. I asked you 3 times about the refund/returns policy and have been ignored on that point in each instance.
There are no “How to” videos on your site and if there are, they are well hidden and you provided none during our interaction.
I would urge your senior management team to conduct a full review of your customer service and aim to improve it for future customers.

You ordered your pump at 19.42 on Friday 21st June (after our 4pm cutoff), this was therefore dispatched Monday on a next day service and delivered on Tuesday 25th... which is the next day service as per the website. Delivery was right on time.
Our commitment to swift and effective support through our dedicated email channel remains resolute, and this commitment extends to your case. In situations like yours, where complexities arise, our initial step is a thorough troubleshooting process.
Your statement indicating the absence of sensors, despite the purchase of a pump equipped with adjustable sensors, compelled us to prioritise a meticulous troubleshooting approach, considering the clear presence of adjustable sensors in the pump.
It's important to acknowledge that issues can sometimes originate from settings beyond the pump itself. Notably, with the adaptable sensor feature of your purchased model, precise setup is paramount. Our intention wasn't to place blame, but rather to explore a potential avenue for resolution.
There appears to be a misunderstanding regarding our approach. Even during our team's holiday period, we maintained responsiveness to your queries and promptly offered troubleshooting guidance. Given the proven reliability of the model you possess, our primary recommendation was to verify the sensor settings. Should challenges persist, we openly offered to inspect the pump within warranty parameters.
Regarding our technical support phone line, logistical constraints and feasibility dictate our present inability to offer such a service. Our engineers are often occupied with on-site tasks, rendering real-time phone support unviable for online purchases. Instead, we've devised a digital support system that allocates tickets for prompt resolutions. This approach enables us to uphold product quality while ensuring access to our skilled team and offering excellent value through our online shop—a feat not achievable for most online retailers.
While acknowledging your video call request, we've invested in an array of instructive 'how-to' videos to aid our customers.
Our ongoing staff break reflects our dedication to our team's well-being. This break empowers them to return with renewed vigour, ready to protect communities from floods. During this period, we focus on training, inspecting flood defence structures, community initiatives, team cohesion, and preparing for future challenges.
I am optimistic that refining the sensor settings will address your concerns. Pump supplied was a puddle pump advertised as perfect for sumps. The pump failed to start at the factory set water depth. Spoke to the company’s technician who told me these pumps aren’t really suitable for sumps. Not fit for purpose!

Thanks for your review and sorry to hear you're having troubles.
Whilst not a traditional 'sump pump', your puddle pump can be used in narrow chambers such as a sump, and so we would not have advised it couldn't. They are ideal for small spaces and certainly fit for purpose. Its a very popular model.
