Having used Crystal Reports with Delphi a long, long time ago decided to try out Fast Reports. It took a bit of figuring out but after you understand all the bands and what versatality that brings to generating your reports it becomes a breeze. The fact that you can link your frxDBDataSets to any datasource make it easy to create reports. The use of variables and specifying the variables from within Delphi code adds to making single reports more versatile. For instance you can create Master/Detail reports and then switch off the detail to only display the master. Love it.

In our project, we used different and various report design brands. However, these designs were scattered throughout the project. Fortunately, we met a great tool like Fast Report and this became a turning point for our project. We are now experiencing the comfort of being able to manage thousands of different listings and printing processes from a single center. In addition, thanks to the fine tuning we made in the application runtime with Delphi codes, our reports became even more qualified and impressive. This process both increased our efficiency and added an aesthetic touch to our project. Fast report really provided us with a great experience.

After using QuickReport and Rave Reports in Delphi, I finally discovered Fast Reports (it was the version 5 at this time), and I decided not to change anymore.

Once you understand the band logic, everything is possible, and not so difficult : add charts and pictures, use master-detail relationship, build a report dynamically, generate all kind of files you've ever thinked of (pdf, word, excel... and so many more).

The report designer is quite intuitive : it is simple to create a new template, that you can modify if required in the code before you generate the report.

I am very pleased with FastReport. It offers a good balance of flexibility and ease of use, making it suitable for both beginners and advanced users. The interface is intuitive, and it’s easy to design and customize reports. The tool provides a range of features, including support for various data sources and rich formatting options, which makes it versatile for different reporting needs. Additionally, the support and community are helpful and responsive. Overall, FastReport is a reliable solution for anyone looking for a solid reporting tool.

Conocí Fast Reports para VCL hace 5 años, en un proyecto con Delphi e Intraweb, y descubrí una herramienta eficiente y flexible. Por eso, cuando necesité una herramienta para un proyecto en .NET, decidí probarlo. El principal cambio que noté fue en el diseñador, que pasaba a ser independiente del IDE: un acierto, ya que no se bloquea el IDE mientras se diseña el informe.
En cuanto a sus prestaciones, la característica principal es que genera informes basados en bandas, lo cual es muy natural si la información sale de una Base de Datos (eran todos mis casos). La disposición de las bandas es muy intuitiva; la colocación de los diferentes controles (texto, imagen, RTF, etc.) es sencilla y flexible y permite, entre otras cosas, impresión condicional tanto de las bandas como de los campos. Muy útil. Dispone de suficientes controles para crear informes vistosos. En cuanto a los tipos de banda, están todos los necesarios: cabecera y pie de informe, cabecera y pie de página, encabezados de columnas, datos maestros, datos de detalle...
Asimismo, permite simular la salida con datos reales (ejecutando la consulta de Base de Datos subyacente con valores de selección fijos), sin necesidad de ejecutar el programa que utiliza el report. Es otro acierto, que ahorra tiempo de desarrollo.
Por poner un punto negativo, la generación de los enlaces a datos es, a mi gusto, poco intuitiva. No obstante, con ayuda de la documentación (en línea y PDF) se consigue enseguida.
Yo lo he utilizado casi siempre con consultas Maestro-Detalle, con encabezados y totalizadores a varios niveles, y los resultados obtenidos siempre han sido excelentes.
En resumen, una excelente herramienta para generar informes basados en Bases de Datos.

I used fast-report until version 6.9.15. and then I decided to stop subscribing and would not buy a fast-report license again, after fast-report increased the price almost 2x for professional licenses. I switched to another report component for Delphi 11.3 community edition. unfriendly fast-report chat information services, and prices that are raised unilaterally without thinking about customers, will definitely make many customers run away looking for other alternatives

FastReport has an easy converter from .rdlc to .frx format. The interface is user-friendly and easy to understand. The verify report feature is what I like most.

I have been using Fast Report with Delphi for more than 20 years. This tool is still my faiforite system for creating reports in combination with applications created in Delphi. Simplicity and flexibility are the undeniable strength of this environment.

I have been using Fast Reports VCL for more than 10 years now and I can't find any reporting system easier to use! I have extensive experience in reporting systems from various database and Fast Reports is always my go-to choice. I have developed many applications over the years and if at all possible, I use Fast Reports. I will strongly recommend the company for their prompt support and the solid set of tools they have developed.

Since 2014 we have been using FastReport.Net WinForm. First of all, this library is very simple and functional. With the option to save reports as different, we can access both Excel and PDF outputs. The only shortcoming is that the interface could be more modern and include more features, just like Telerik, DevExpress. I'm sure this team will make these improvements in a short time. Everything is great.

Cant even connect to a MySql server.

We were using few reporting engines in past. Including our own print canvas based VCLs with runtime designer. But something was still wrong. Until we found FastReport - the best reporting engine ever! You're doing really good job!

I choose fastReport, mostly because of it's Delphi-Forms like inheritance reports.

Some embeded components, are also really productive, like tables , pictures and parameters features are very easy and comprehensive.

I have been using fastreport for a long time, from the first version until today fastreport is the only library that meets the needs of developing reports for my clients. Because reports can be easily designed and issue reports quickly It can be used both on desktop and as a web app. The support team is quick. I love fastreport.

I have used Fast Report for years now. I migrated from another report writing platform (Rave) a long time ago. I find Fast report really flexible and I have done really interesting stuff. A lot my reports use colour coded results as this makes the bad results stand out. Many of my report are dynamic and follow user input. A user can set the results parameters they want to see on the report. Then the report prints the report with colour coded results in a grid format. This allows the user to get want is needed to their client in terms of rich "heat mapped" data which assists asset owners to make informed decisions.

The other very important feature that I have used is the rich text field in which I have embedded graphics and highlighted text. This makes the application hit with the user.

Fast Reports is easy to use and has the ability to be used at a high level, but also get down to building very dynamic reports that follow data rather than been fixed and static. Being able to build reports in code is my favorite.
