I tried calling for a referral. I need a specialist for glaucoma. It was a waste of my time. I had permanent damage done to my vision by a quack eye doctor in Green Bay, WI. It is elder abuse and... Leggi di più

Terrible company they will take your money every month and then won't pay for anything, they practically steal your money because they won't pay for anything.
Eye Med must get huge payouts from the select providers that they want you to do business with. So if I go to a discount eye glass center where the total cost of frames, lenses and all the extras are... Leggi di più
I have tried 4 different call attempts and apparently there is no way to speak to a human with this company. You get transferred to a chat agent, which is NOT at all what I need. Thanks Eymed, for you... Leggi di più

I would never recommend EYEMED to…
I would never recommend EYEMED to anyone not even my enemies. Dr. Rohit Sharma who is an in network Doctor with eyemed over billed me for glasses and i complained to Eyemed. Eyemed did not only support him extorting money from me they also gave me reasons why he over billed me, and that they would not do anything about it.
You cannot have a problem and run to them and they will save you. Rather they join and finish you, with some reasons that makes no sense..
I wish I could give zero stars
If I could have I would have given them a zero.
These are the most useless customer service people on the face of the planet but it's not just customer service it's also their claims department that seems to feel it's their right to approve eye care eye vision care eyeglasses at the point of sale but then turns around and tells you that it's being rejected and you actually owe a whole bunch of money that you didn't owe when it was approved upon your leaving the doctor, the clinic, or the store.
So call customer service.... Don't waste your time they know how to stretch out every single millisecond of time in circles never accomplishing a thing never able to put two and two together with a nice tone of voice getting agitated if you get angry because you've wasted 30 minutes of time with no information at all
What makes it even worse is that they claim I have no information about your EOBs explanation of benefits or any kind of documentation in their computers concerning the work that they rejected on your behalf.
This company should be taken to court and then put out of business.
There is nothing this company has to offer that is of any value to anyone.
EyeMed wont honor insurance.
EyeMed wont honor insurance reimbursement of $150.00 because I got a discount for new glasses. Rip off. Will be contacting my insurance co.
Ready to unenroll next year
Ready to unenroll next year! This insurance does not cover anything! I send a bill of 446.96 and they only cover $35. Next year anytime that i need exam i will paid cash and no waste my money!
PICK ANYONE ELSE - You will be sorry
I signed up for coverage in November 2024, I expected to receive some information about the plan I am paying for in the mail. Nothing. So maybe I have to sign-up on the website, that's fair.
I go to "create an account" using my SS number and it doesn't work. I called and got a lovely CS rep and she got me my Member ID number (finally) so I tried using that instead to sign-up. No dice. I downloaded Chrome, no dice. I cleared cache, no dice. I DOWNLOADED YOUR APP, AND NO DICE.
When I couldn't create my account so I could figure out my insurance information I paid for the chat box rep Brittany told me "well it's working on my end so there's no issue to escalate". EXCUSE ME? And so now I have just go to the eye doctor and pray it works?
RUN. DO NOT PICK THIS PROVIDER. YOU CANNOT EVEN USE THE BENEFITS YOU PAY MONEY FOR
A Scam as is most eye insurance.
A Scam as is most eye insurance.
EyeMed is owned by Luxottica, a manufacturer of eyeglasses, where they first fail to cover necessary procedures and visits then market their own products to you.
Seemly at random, the insurance company side of their circuitous business structure dropped the closest specialist eye doctor to our family therefore forcing us to drive farther away or pay exorbitant prices for the closer option.
They are fraudsters
They are fraudsters. My employer sent me to have an eye test and glasses with one of their approved opticians. After doing the test they offered me a range of very cheap, very low quality, very small aperture plastic frames (same low quality as off the shelf reading glasses that you can buy for £2 from discount stores) and they said these are the only frames that they offer for free. And because the aperture was very small they cannot do my prescription in normal lenses and wanted me to pay for ultra thin ones. It would be a waste of time and money to fit lenses to these low quality super-small frames (so small they are more suitable for children rather than adults). I refused to have my glasses to be made and walked out with the eye test results. Now I have used my employers vouchers and ended up with no glasses. Avoid at any cost dealing with this company.
Cigna Dental with EyeMed vision coverage…
Cigna Dental with vision coverage contracted EyeMed last year. Got a $10 check for the eye exam receipt, not the $100 expected. Sent complaint asking if we had already had an exam, EyeMed sent a Dept. Health and Human Services form to my disabled wife making sure she authorized my complaint and could she provide more information including her Medicare#. Dropped coverage.
Feb 2025 Cigna sent a check for exam and first pair of glasses without apology or explanation.
Not an insurance plan
Found out belatedly that you must purchase the glasses at the time of the vision check or you don't get the discounts. This is predatory. BCBS should know better than to deal with a company like this.
Just hoping no one will have o deal…
Just hoping no one will have o deal with them .... that is nicest thing I can say about them
Poor customer service
I'll be out of the country during the month I would be eligible to have my next eye appointment. I reached out multiple times asking if someone could help/see if I can schedule an appointment sooner and no one ever responded.
Denied a claim for medically necessary lenses without notification
I require medically necessary lenses, and without them I'm blind. I've had the same prescription & lenses for 5 years in a row. This year, EyeMed denied my claim saying I'd exceeded my benefits, despite me not making any claims since last year, and they couldn't say when or how I'd exceeded. The only claim I make is the once a year lenses claim. And they didn't provide any communication when denying the claim, I had to phone the opticians to find out from them that EyeMed was not approving the claim, then I had to phone EyeMed and spend 30 minutes on the phone to be told the claim was being denied. I pay for my vision benefit through a global company with 130,000 employees, as part of a group insurance policy. Will be escalating internally to our benefits team, to see if they can look to go with another more competent company!
This program is a joke
This program is a joke. If your employer offers it, do not enroll. It is a bogus discount scheme masquerading as "insurance". It does little to nothing in the way of reducing costs associated with eye exams or glasses. If you price out the difference it is essentially worth about a year of premiums. Stuff like this should be illegal as it only serves to make all of our eye care more expensive in the long run.
