They use high pressure sales
They use high pressure sales. I said no so many times and they kept pushing and showing up. After doing onboarding of one location, I realized that it's not a good system. They are contract and $$ driven. Read the reviews. No one is happy.

Horrible- used it for a single reservation- spent the rest of the night dealing with spam email and text.
"Bait and switch" sales and un-included features
This company uses a "bait and switch" sales approach that's, thankfully, not very common in SaaS any longer. We evaluated and chose Tock for our startup restaurant and bar to handle reservation waitlists and integration with ticket and table management via the Toast POS system. The system was billed by sales during the process as supporting our integration requirements, then, once the implementation was complete and we tried to integrate with Toast, we were told we'd need to pay more to get what we were told was included in our package. As well, the sales process is very high-pressure and glosses over questions. Our first alarm bells went off when the sales person made excuses for not being able to demo features we asked about (but he assured us were included as we expected). Sadly, we should have listened to our gut instincts and never signed up. Now we have a system we cannot use and Tock support is defensive and uncooperative, only wanting to push us on paying more to get what we want and pushing us to use paid events via their system so they can get the credit card processing fees per transaction. They have been acquired twice in short order by Squarespace and now again by American Express. The sentiment from them is clear that they put locked-in contracts and unnecessary revenue generation above product usefulness and good relationships with their small business customers.
Tock gift card was a great gift - you just need to know how to use it!
Tock gift card was a great gift! We used it to book exclusive reservations at our fav restaurant for our wedding anniversary that we have been trying to get into for so long!! I’m happy to grease the wheels if that is what it takes for the experience we want. Everything has a price if you are willing to pay!! Lol
Horrible company DO NOT USE
Horrible company DO NOT USE. They do not care about small business, just their bottom line. I will never recommend. I haven't use their platform in just under a year, want to cancel, and they are going to charge me $1400 to get out of my $199 monthly contract.
Be wary of your credit card use for this site.
I found out that I had to make my reservation for a lunch through Tock. So I did, using a credit card that I hardly ever use. 5 days later, I get a notice from that credit card company that there there were 2 fraudulent charges on that card out of California. I don't use that card locally at any stores and again hardly use it. Very suspicious. Won't be using Tock anymore.
Amazing food!!
Great place!! The food is excellent with a reasonable price. The ambiance is very good , with added touches like decor and comfortable seating. Additionally the service is top-notch, with attentive staff catering to your needs throughout the dining experience.

I find Resy and OpenTable are far better user experiences for diners. Tock charges asinine fees to diners and makes splitting a bill need a spreadsheet. I'd rate Tock 0/5 stars.
Beware of Tock
Beware of Tock! My recent experience with this platform has been nothing short of a nightmare. From the get-go, I encountered credentialing issues, with Tock allowing an incorrect domain ('.clm') to be validated, highlighting glaring data, security, and UX concerns. Despite multiple attempts to rectify the situation, Tock's support team provided inadequate assistance and failed to address the core issues.
Furthermore, Tock's handling of reservation cancellations is abysmal. Conflicting cancellation policies between Tock and the associated restaurant, Philotimo, created unnecessary confusion and frustration. It's unacceptable for a booking platform to shift responsibility and defer crucial decisions to the restaurant without providing clear guidance or resolution.
Overall, my experience with Tock has been marred by incompetence, poor customer service, and a blatant disregard for user satisfaction. I strongly advise against using this platform for any reservations.
Furthermore, my attempts to cancel a Valentine's Day reservation through Tock were met with sheer frustration and disappointment. Despite numerous requests for cancellation and a pending charge on my credit card, Tock's support team proved utterly inept at facilitating the process. This lack of responsiveness and failure to honor cancellation requests is not only infuriating but also reflects Tock's disregard for customer convenience and satisfaction.
Tock is holding my money hostage
Tock doesn’t bother to inform buyers that their gift cards can’t be used to, you know, actually purchase food like you’d think they could.
My employer purchased a $200 Tock gift card on my behalf as a gift, and I decided to use the balance to take my parents, husband, and mother in law to a restaurant for lunch… intending to use my gift card to cover the bill.
Lo and behold, I found out AFTER we’d ordered that exactly $0 of my Tock gift card balance could be applied to my current balance. I was mortified. My family had driven more than an hour from their respective locations to meet me and my husband at the restaurant, only for my method of payment to not work as expected. This was a $120 lunch between the four of us, so not exactly small fries, but I had expected my $200 gift card balance to be more than enough to cover the bill.
Tock’s customer service was worse than useless in resolving the issue — the entire burden fell on the staff of the restaurant to deduct our $120 bill from my gift card balance. I literally have no idea how they did it, but I was so grateful that they stepped up to fix Tock’s mistake.
Now Tock customer service is giving me the runaround about refunding the remaining $80 on my gift card balance. I DO NOT WANT TO WASTE MY TIME ON TOCK AFTER MY AWFUL EXPERIENCE WITH THE PLATFORM. I literally just want a refund so I can move on with my life, but Tock insists that I can use the gift card balance “to reserve experiences” at restaurants, when that’s the last thing I want to use my gift balance for.
Tock marketed these gift cards in a misleading manner. I was fully under the impression that I would be able to use my balance to pay the tab of any restaurant under the Tock banner, but Tock is a woefully tech-deficient company, so they can’t even manage that. Now they are holding my money hostage — USE TOCK OR EXPLORETOCK AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Greed, expecting customers to pay to reserve
Tock charging a 20% service fee for what amounts to an incredibly simple CRUD scheduling app is an outright scam forced upon users. Restaurants should heavily reconsider implementing this service as it deters potential customers from making reservations.
What value does Tock provide diners?
I made a reservation for two at Daisies, a relatively new Chicago restaurant. We had a lovely time, but I will not go back if every time I make a Tock reservation I am charged $21 for two for nothing. As a frequent restaurant diner (3-4 times a week) I prefer Open Table and Resy. My partner prefers to call directly to restaurants. Now, I understand why.
If I could give 0 stars I would
If I could give 0 stars I would. Once you are on a restaurant's website and hit "Reservations" then Tock completely throws you out of everything you've put in. Tock assigns you a random city so you have to go searching for where you actually wanted to go, then input everything all over again. Then you wait. Worst interface. Who designed this???
The most ridiculous reservation system…
The most ridiculous reservation system ever!!! We paid $50 for a reservation for 7 at Cidercaide in Austin this past Friday evening. When we arrived, we acknowledged the table they had saved for us inside and asked if we could sit Outside. We were told that if there was an empty table, of course! Little did I know that our $50 reservation would still be charged to my credit card. I will never make a reservation at a restaurant or any place of business using Tock!!!!!
Awful, Awful, Awful
Awful! Awful! Awful! Unfortunately Chase rewards is using them and I cannot book places I want to dine in. It makes me use my points but does not say how many points I will be using so I will get stuck with paying with my points that may be higher than what I want to spend. And there is no way to reach anyone. That's the worst part. I used their chat and the response time it says is one hour. Not worth paying their services.

Why have a different site VS Open table. Hard to use and limited as to information/request you can leave
Total Scam!!!
Can do absolutely nothing with this gift card! Feel so badly for the friend that gave it to me. Total waste of money!
Tock is CRAP and for the BOTS
Tock is CRAP-
They have bots that take up all the reservations within seconds. I’ve had 10 people at the same time through the app or the website try to book and it’s impossible because either they don’t have anything in place that protects the system against bots that book out slots or they resell reservations to other sites that charge fees for a booking service or concierge service.
I really hope restaurant owners of the highly sought out places like the Michelin restaurants understand this game because there are so many people that lose out on experiencing your restaurants due to an unfair rigged system that is the EXCLUSIVE way to get a table at your restaurant. Such a shame!
