Disappointed

We live fairly locally and always try and book to fly from Exeter but fail due to being expensive and limited flights but we did push the boat out and flew the family ( 5 of us) to Greece hoping for a far better experience than flying from dreadful Bristol… how terribly disappointing … big queue to check in .. big queue for security … executive lounge rubbish and the flight delayed… we will not rush back!!

Let down big time by charging £6 just…

Let down big time by charging £6 just to drop passengers off, ten minutes free would improve the airport reputation no end, management and owners dont see this and i guess dont care, i for one drop off outside the airport so i dont charge my clients, the government should step in to stop private companies ripping people off with outrageous parking charges.

Excellent customer service

I booked parking and soon after realised I had made two mistakes, namely mis-spelt email address and wrong time of exit. I was unable to manage the booking to amend and so telephoned to report. As this was out of hours on a Friday, I left a voice mail. On Sunday morning I had a call from a lovely lady called Jo who apologised for not calling on Saturday and then resolved the issues for me as well as advising on another matter. Excellent service and helpful, pleasant and efficient . Thank you Jo.

Maybe a course in solution-oriented thinking ?

Small airport, with 7 to 8 flights a day. Booked the execute lounge for 4 (one person with A.S.S., (with sunflower lanyard, assistance was already requested upfront)) no possibility to check in earlier, so no access to the -already paid- executive lounge. Personnel not helpful and very narrowminded. Maybe a course

I may not have a visible disability but…

I may not have a visible disability but was disappointed that I was not offered a wheel chair and just left after security as though they thought I didn’t need any help when in fact I did as I can’t actually walk long distance and stand for long periods . Very disappointed maybe the staff need to look past the look of a person !

Rental car park too far away

Found the office for Europcar told to go to P4 to collect car. Headed of with carry bags (no wheels) thought we were going to the wrong place as it was a half mile walk fortunately it was dry. On way back Wed 3/9/25 it was torrential rain. My husband a blue badge holder left me off at the barriers with our bags and returned the car to P4. I waited for him in the Europcar office. He returned drenched. I raised my concerns with the staff who informed me that it was an issue with the airport. I would not be keen on using the airport unless this issue is addressed. Not good coming into winter.

Disabled passenger #failed

took my 85 yr old, registered disabled father with mobility and speech issues to this airport so he could fly home. Came in on Aer Lingus without problem and carryon luggage. Staff demanded £35 to let him take the same bag back on board. Rude, verbally aggressive and offered no adjustments for a registered disabled passenger. Gave him an ultimatum to pay £35 or the flight would leave without him. Found out 3 hours later, he was still sat in the departure lounge, alone, confused and scared the police were coming to remove him. Disgusted with attitude of this place.

Disaster

We were charged £35 pounds for a bag we boarded for free in Dublin. Also toiletries that we were allowed flying out of Dublin, were taken off us on the way back. Staff in general were unfriendly and just seemed interested in charging passengers for anything the could. Will definitely not be back.

Keep Quiet About Exeter Airport

I am sure that we all hope for a stress-free start and end to our holiday, with easy access by car (or by a regular bus service from the nearest main railway station) and, if by car, a short level walk from the car park to the airport terminal. At the airport terminal we hope to pass speedily through check in, security and passport control before, maybe, using the food outlets, loos and/or the duty free shop. On our way home we hope to collect quickly our luggage. Exeter Airport delivers all of this magnificently, and it was not surprising to read today that the Which? consumer reviews in 2019 voted it the fourth (out of thirty) best UK airport. Travelling today (11/07/2025), I noted that there were twelve arrivals and twelve departures in the course of the day, so perhaps no wonder that the result was a stress-free experience for traveller and staff alike. I didn't use the loos (as I used my own before I left home and used the aircraft's on my way back), thank god most days that I am blessed with good mobility and am not bothered about decorations/paintwork. We have all had good experiences in the past at many other UK airports but times have changed and Exeter Airport now stands out. We and its owners would prefer more routes, but we consumers will pay a price for this, Perhaps we should let well alone.

A friend and I flew from this Airport &…

A friend and I flew from this Airport & in it was my first time, I didn’t have no idea where anything was or where t go.
My friend is 86 and does need some help….. I went to The Special Assistance desk & DID WONDER WHY EITHER ASSISTANT’S WERE EVEN BEHIND THE DESK !!!!!!! They were RUDE, I HAD TO “ASK THEM WERE THERE GOING TO HELP ME” & they both snapped abruptly !!!! They were very matter of fact, and unhelpful !!! What stand behind a TUI SPECIAL ASSISTANCE DESK IF YOU DONT WANT TO HEL OR HELP OR JUST BE DAMN RIGHT RUDE !!!! In fact all the staff are Exeter &!on our travels that day were damn right rude !!!!

Wonderful Staff

I love flying from this Airport. I have a very high opinion of the staff and service they provide. However, they recently went over and above their high level of service. I had left something at home that I urgently needed. It was brought to the airport and 2 staff in particular made sure I got it. I did not manage to get their names but they were simply wonderful. Thank you!

Exeter Airport was a pleasure to fly from…

Exeter Airport was a pleasure to fly from! All staff without exception were cheery and polite and very helpful. Breakfast was spot on and my party all said it was worth every penny. My own wheelchair broke en route to the boarding gate but staff promptly helped out and even disposed of my non repairable wheelchair for me. So nice to have the aircraft so close and the ramp to the aircraft was amazing!
Yes, the arrivals is a little tatty but who cares when you have such good service and even a smile from passport control! So good we will never return to the cattle market that is Bristol!

Shabby

I recently flew from Exeter Airport to Europe. The Departures process is quick and simple, (although the prices for food and drink are ridiculously high). Arrivals, however, is dreadful. Everything is shabby and run down. The ladies’ loos are dirty and the cubicles have no working locks. Exeter Airport seems to have made no improvements for customers in recent years. Please do better because although it’s great to have a local airport, flights are more expensive and as a customer I would appreciate a better service.

This small rural airport is fantastic

This small rural airport is fantastic. 45 minutes from home. Its shabby and tired and hard to keep clean. The departures is quick and efficient. Friendly staff. Food and drink cafe very expensive.
Arrivals is a disgrace..the building needs washing inside and out.
The toilets are a total embarrassment, dated and shabby.
Flights: Definitely need more destinations.

Disappointing experience overall

Disappointing experience overall, lack of seating so when more than two flights delayed which is often there's no where to sit, bar and restaurant was closed on a busy day, leaving one cafe with limited options for food, ginger woman who heads up security lies to customers, told me I knew about the delays since 10am, (I wasn't even there! )when the plane only boarded at 1pm and the fault was discovered, total liar with zero customer skills and an awful attitude, I'd rather use Bristol airport because of this.Not at all good enough.
