Had to give Essex & Suffolk Water Company 1 star, otherwise they won't publish this, but I give them a "ZERO" star.
What a RUBBISH company, a total disgrace.
I am truly in awe of the sheer audacity it takes to jack up my water bill from £68.87 ( that was bad enough ) to £85.70 a month, i am a single person; a £16.83 increase for absolutely nothing extra. No magical new water source, just the same old crap water flowing out of my taps now at a premium price. How utterly generous of them. The price before was just ridiculous. It’s almost impressive how they can take a basic human necessity and turn it into yet another financial burden.
The extra I will be paying looks like the same old bullshit.
As shareholders and directors will be profiting while ordinary customers are being fleeced for more money. What a BAD company Essex & Suffolk water really are.
Just wonder if i will get a response at all, if so it will be a carefully worded "nonsense" of a response.

Water rates 593 in2023 rhen 746 in 2024 now 937 thus year what a corrupt bunch wont even answer questions .will let it go to 1000 then i will not pay over that.so will not listen to them if they say save water,maybe they should follow the mantra abd save money.

Shambles of a smart meter installation
Shambles of a smart meter installation. Installed but not connected to the data network. Ability to input a reading manually taken also away from the website and app. Very slow response from customer service and WhatsApp response time is painfully slow (takes weeks). I now have less data available than I did before. Great job Essex & Suffolk Water - progress !!

Steph Wisbey was also very quick to respond to emails and extremely helpful. We really appreciate it and highly recommend them!
This company owes me £345, yet sends me threatening letters
This company owes me £345, yet they put my direct debit up from £18 to £50, and now £80 a month. No explanation, unable to contact them by phone so I cancelled my direct debit as I do not owe any money. I received a lovely letter from they stating; "Just so you know, every month we tell credit reference agencies whether you pay your bills on time or not". Like I care. Appalling company!
Customer services good / prices are extortionate.
Although prices charged are too high. Customer services team are great. Very understanding and will help with whatever issue you have.

Since that time my drive is flooding slowly towards my house but now faster.
At least 2 contacts with Essex oh we emailed relevant department. I have heard nothing.
The block paving has not been fixed that was dug up granted Neighbour leak continues But apparently Thursday 9/1/25 is when they will come on behalf of neighbour. Though I saw an engineer pop down last week for 5” for them and did not see him look our side and one of their pieces of equipment is still in out driveway meanwhile situation worsens for me and As Lung Cancer last thing I need to stress about. I can see water flowing up from the ground
Excellent Service and very polite and friendly workman
We had a mains burst outside our property. RM3 Notified to Essex and Suffolk Water who attended within 24 hours. All the workman were polite and kept us well informed throughout the process.
The leak was fixed and mains water turned back on which unfortunately caused an issue with our toilets refilling.
The men on site were helpful and contacted a plumber for Essex and Suffolk Water who cam within 24 hours.
Polite and resolved the issue with both toilets quickly and professionally.
Both teams were friendly, polite and knowledgeable.

I absolutely hate this company with a passion.
Two weeks and I am still waiting for a callback from the complaints department. Tried calling them and have to wait on hold for 30 minutes plus, which is just a joke.
Tried to have a water meter installed twice and still no joy.
This company is an absolute sh*tshow and thinks it acceptable to change £77 a month for water for a single person.
Great service
Great customer service never had an issue. The only thing is they keep changing my direct debit every few months putting it up some months and then lowering it a few months later. I have asked them to keep it the same and I just get told my usage has changed and they are changing prices

Booked an appointment for a water meter, apparently supposed to be done in 90 days but nowhere near 90 days more 180 days, took the day off work and the plumber just pushed a card through my door and done a runner, absolutely useless company only wants to overcharge you for very substandard service total schiit
Busted my hose connector
Busted my hose connector while installing new meter. Was put back in a way so that I would not notice. Went to use hose, just flooded everywhere. Contacted company. Said someone would call last friday (23/08/2024). No one called. No message sent therefore no apology. Changed plans to accommodate the visit. Feel really put out. Whole week and cannot use hose until they repair it.
Impossible to talk to anyone
Your chat doesn't work- nobody ever replies. And your phoneline puts me in a queue for 20 minutes plus just to go silent - twice I tried. It'd be easier to set up a meeting with the king than to get hold of your customer service.
Excellent customer service
While the wait time to get through to an advisor is very long, there is a useful callback service available. Once I got through, I had excellent service from Charlotte who resolved my issues relating to my account promptly, politely and professionally. I'm very impressed, and the online features relating to the water service and bills is very good too.

Where the hell does this bad water company get their bills from!!! Its bad enough im paying through the nose for their leaky water pipe to my house they put their bill on 4 days before its due . Not getting it e & s . Used to pay weekly until anglia and e & s joined forces , now anglia water expects the rest of the years bill within a matter of days, they can go whistle they cant turn my water of i have health issues and rely on it. Cant get thrugh on their phone which takes forever due to press 1 for choices press 2 for choices press 3 4 5 6 7 8 and 9 for choices but dont expect to get through . They should be paying the public for doing their job for them. The online contact is even worse talking to a bot that tells you and gives you zero . 11BUO78953 , thats for you e & s water , now answer my bloody letter and give me your bank details for a standing order so i can pay what i decide not you , im in control of my payments , no direct debit so you can take what you want .
Yesterday received note through…
Yesterday received note through letterbox saying that my meter had been updated to a smart meter. Today received letter saying in next 2 weeks will be installing smart water meter. In addition, it says can our free mobile app. This is for daily, weekly or monthly readings, view bills and make payments. I do not have a smartphone so absolutely no use whatever to me. No advance warning given. So why have I not seen any information about this in the press or anywhere else. I will now have to phone them to make sure I get paper bills. How long before they prevent you from having paper bills!!!!!

I have lived at my home for 20 years and today they came to test my water. This is the first time this has ever been done. 9am in the morning he has 1 street a day, the majority of people are at work, and will not come back another day.
Maybe they are concerned because of what Thames water has gone through with undrinkable water in certain areas. This should be done on a regular basis and appointments for people that are not home
