ERA is a terrible Company. Recommend you don't buy their products.
ERA is a terrible Company with terrible service. I have had an ERA Protect system for nearly two years and there has been a number of product problems that have taken a lot of effort of my part to get resolved. ERA Protect service has to be continually progressed. John in service always says he has to look into the problem and call you back in the afternoon. He never does!
I have just gone through a 'push' firmware upgrade. Now you would think an upgrade is to fix a bug, improve performance or to add features. No. In this case it removed functionality, stopped the ability to use an important part of the system and gives a false system status on the app when using the key fob to arm or disarm the system. I am now thinking of ditching the entire system getting something else. I tried calling ERA this morning to be told all our agents are busy, please leave a message. Hence this review. I recommend that you don't buy their products. You will regret it in the end.

I am sorry you have experienced an issue following our latest firmware update, and the inconvenience this has caused to you.
In the majority of cases a firmware upgrade is issue, it will be to improve performance, fix bugs, and add features as you have stated. In the case of the recent firmware update it was released to improve connectivity with ERA Smartlocks.
As you have found, the update has also impacted communication between the keypad and the hub. Due to this issue, if the keypad is used the status of the alarm is not showing correctly on the app.
Our developers are now looking at the cause of this issue, and once identified release a firmware update to correct this issue. As yet we do not have a definitive timeframe for this. With the ERA Protect alarm system primarily being a internet connected device the primary usage function would be through the ERA app, and while the issue with the keypad is resolved, the remote fob.
The ERA Protect system was launched in 2020, and in that time we do have a number of customers that are using the system without issue. When made aware of issues, in most cases these are resolved quite quickly, and in some cases we do need to investigate the issue, before we can get back to you.
I am sorry that you have not received call backs as promised, and will endeavor to improve this in future.
If our team are on calls, we do provide an option to leave a message, which we will respond to, rather than having a customer staying on hold if they have other tasks they could be doing.

Miss-leading advertising of window/door…
Miss-leading advertising of window/door sensor. Item returned for credit. Unfortunate as it sounded a good idea.

The full description for the product does state that it compatible with a hub, and in this case we have not advertised the product incorrectly.

Smart lock does not work consistently
Smart lock was delivered promptly and instructions were easy to understand making installation straightforward. Unfortunately the fingerprint sensor and key fobs just did not work consistently. Often this meant the worry of being locked out and so didn’t give me the peace of mind needed to ensure I would be able to get in and out of my house securely.
I spoke to customer services who were helpful and provided a return reference number and address to post back for a full refund. I did however have to pay a considerable postage to return the product which was not great.
Lock was returned by Royal Mail special deliver and I am still waiting for refund to go to my account
In light of the worry about being locked out due to the lock not working consistently o could not recommend this product and have gone back to a normal lock and key for complete peace of mind.

I am sorry that you experienced an issue with the Universal Smart Handle, and the inconvenience caused.
Before the Universal Smart Handle was launched, the handle went through extensive testing to ensure the app and hardware worked correctly.
The handle itself is designed to work with 95% of lift to lock mechanisms in the UK marketplace, so it is disappointing to see it didn't perform for you.
As you have now returned the handle, it is not possible for us to troubleshoot any further to help resolve the issues you experienced.

Great technology, BUT....…
The alarm technology and the app are great. The only reason you didn't get 5 stars was the quality of the screws supplied with the alarm kit. The screws for hanging the sirens were so soft, they stripped during installation and had to be replaced. The screws supplied with the door sensors had heads that were too wide and distorted the mouldings preventing them clipping together. These too had to be replaced.

Shocking misrepresentation as a smart…
Shocking misrepresentation as a smart lock. The app is worse than useless. Using 92% of my battery in battery saver mode and has not managed to auto unlock once.
Notifications about lock status are pure fiction.
ERA offered to help and then disappeared completely.
If you want a fingerprint lock this is OKish. It is absolutely not a smart lock.

I am sorry that you experienced an issue with the Smart Universal Handle and the ERA Smart Home app.
We have checked our applications, and cannot see that we have an issue with excessive battery usage, and this isn't something that has been reported by other users.
Our testing that took place during development, and which continues show that push notifications are sent when the handle is unlocked using your fingerprint, however you need to ensure that the Wi-Fi bridge is installed as well.
Looking at our records, I can see that we were in contact with you, and cannot see that we stopped responding to you.
We aim to provide a great level of customer service to all of our customers, and I am sorry that you feel this has not been the case.

I have had response alarm systems for…
I have had response alarm systems for many many years and they have been brilliant. Bought this new era protect system about 2 years ago . Battery in the siren is dead already although this could be down to the amount of faulty sensors I have had . Replaced nearly all of them . The hub is so quite it can go of in the middle of the night and I can't here it . It does send you a message to your phone to tell its been activated but this doesn't always wake you . I don't normally do reviews but I do feel disappointed in this alarm .

Prompt delivery and straightforward installation. I had difficulty connecting the keypad, but this was resolved quickly by the very hepful technical team. The system works perfectly. This is the fourth ERA alarm that I have installed, 2 at my house and 2 at my daughters.
