DO NOT PURCHASE GOODWE PRODUCTS
DO NOT PURCHASE FROM GOODWE, DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THEM.
They are the most unhelpful company I have had to deal with to date - to the point of being a scam / con.
I purchased a GW3600S-BP Retrofit Inverter through City Plumbing in January 2025. Now.... although GoodWe originally helped with the installation and commissioning of the unit, they gave no indication at that time that there was a warranty issue, they were, however a nightmare to deal with, their Apps are clunky and sometimes just do not work and they would not allow my AoLithium Battery packs to communicate – so they now work without the coms connected…!
Once set up I’ve prety much left it to do it’s thing. However, on checking the SEMS portal the unit has gone off line and I can no longer connect to the unit through the Apps - SolarGo and SEMS+.
SEMS+ just does not see the unit at all and SolarGo sees the unit but ‘Fails’ to connect or communicate with it.
July 2026, GoodWe now state that the warranty ran out 2 years before I purchased it and are refusing to help resolve the problem...!
I suspect that the WiFi Dongle is at fault but when I asked about purchasing a replacement WiFi dongle they responded that their spare parts were only for units that were under warranty and my unit was beyond even an extended warranty purchase....
Although they did suggest that they would give an extended warranty if I chose to upgrade, they did not follow through with that. - and.... Why would I need an extended warranty on this unit if I was upgrading...?!
GoodWe's web site has a Find Dealer page but it does not work.... So I asked them for the details of local (UK) installers and they reluctantly suggested a Manchester based company.
Turns out they do not currently install GoodWe products - but have in the past. So far they have not been helpful.
Fortunately, I purchased the unit on a VISA credit card and IF I can get an 'independent report' on the unit, I can make a Section 75 Claim.
September 2026, and so my ordeal goes on....
Be Aware that you could end up in this situation if you purchase GoodWe products.
My advice is to look else where.
