My production levels soared substantially after only a handful of sessions with Doug. His deep understanding and extensive music experience, along with his exceptional teaching ability, make him someone I wholeheartedly recommend to others!

I really enjoyed learning electronic music production with Doug. I had only had basic experience with Ableton before working with him and the course was exactly what I needed to get familiar with the workflow. Doug took me through the process of building tracks incorporating vocals, drumkits, effects, synths, taught me sound design and gave me pointers on the creative process. He made sure that our online sessions fitted around my schedule. Highly recommended.

For the past six months, I’ve been working with Craig at EMT. While I had some prior knowledge of the material, I was largely self-taught and lacked a deep understanding of the theory and practical application. Before starting our lessons, Craig crafted a tailored syllabus based on my existing skills, which we went over together to ensure it suited my needs.

Craig has been an exceptional instructor. He’s able to adjust his teaching approach to cover everything from basic concepts to more complex, in-depth areas, depending on what’s required. There were topics I hadn’t encountered before, but Craig explained them in a way that made it easy to grasp how they fit into the broader picture of music production and integrate them into my workflow. For areas I was already familiar with, he took the time to explain not just the advanced musical ideas, but also the fundamental electronic principles that inform synthesizer design.

His teaching method is straightforward and easy to understand from the get-go, yet allows for deeper learning upon revisiting the material. Craig records all of our sessions and makes them available for review, which has been incredibly helpful. Being able to go back and focus on specific sections has allowed me to get far more out of the lessons than if I had only experienced them once.

After struggling to improve my productions for years, Craig’s guidance has significantly elevated my work. I’d easily rate the experience five stars, and I’m already considering booking more lessons once I’ve completed the current syllabus. Thanks again!

I had a 1:1 cause with Craig focused on improving my mixing. I've been writing tracks for a long time but struggled to get the level of professional polish I was looking for to have confidince in releasing my arranged tracks.

Craig took me through a mixing workflow over 6 sessions using one of my completed tracks. We worked in a way that was DAW- and plugin-agnostic, but caught me up on some important skills I was missing in this area.

The process was pleasant and professional. I wasn't sure whether online music tuition would be of good enough quality, but I was happy with the results.

We went through the whole mixing process from preparing stems with pink noise leveling, EQ, compression, saturation, grouping, reverb, monitoring/metering and more.

In the end, we had a track that I was much happier with and went on to release the final mix after getting it professionally mastered. It's had over 50k streams so I can say that this course was a resounding success!

I have recommended EMT to several other people and will continue to do so.

This course was absolutely amazing. Craig is both a fantastic musician and an excellent teacher. His lessons are engaging and enjoyable, breaking everything down in a way that makes it easy to understand. He also shares fascinating stories and insights about the history of electronic music, playing example tracks that helped me grasp not just what I was doing, but also why it matters in the broader music world.

When I started, I had no clue where to begin with writing or producing music, and I had never used Ableton before. After 12 weeks, I not only felt confident using the software, but I had also written and produced a full track from start to finish. More importantly, I felt equipped with the skills to do it again and continue developing my music.

This course was incredibly valuable, and I can’t wait to sign up for part two: mixing!

They’ve put together a tailored program and run well prepared, easy to understand sessions which are lots of fun. I’ve learnt so much already and have corrected so many self-taught mistakes. I've been a DJ for over 2 decades, and I felt it was FINALLY time to step up and learn some production. Doug at EMT was amazing! The sessions were laid out well, and when I need to go back and review anything I have the recordings. I started my production journey as everyone does by watching YouTube videos. This was fine at first but I quickly found I needed answers to questions that were specific to me and speaking to someone that has had real world experience with releases on quality labels fast tracked my learning experience. I meant more in my first 1 hour lesson than I had trying to get the answers I needed for the last month of google searching.

I have been working with Doug for the past six months, and his knowledge and skill set have significantly transformed my production skills. While I’ve taken classes at Berklee College of Music Online and Point Blank Online over the last year, my sessions with Doug at EMT have been truly invaluable. We focus on refining my tracks, mastering, advanced sound design techniques, and resolving issues in the final mix/premaster stages. I’m currently on my second EMT course pack, and have every intention of continuing our sessions weekly. Although I haven’t yet explored the machine course, I highly recommend EMT to anyone seeking private lessons. Doug's expertise and support can make a real difference in your music production journey.
