Pre-order of an AC unit paid in advance, then cancelled

I pre-ordered an air conditioning unit on 25th June and the money was taken immediately (this wasn't clear). Also, it wasn't obvious that the pre-order date displayed was for delivery to them and not to me, the customer.
On 26th June I received an email that 'delivery was slightly delayed' but with no ETA. I asked when we could expect delivery but wasn't given a clear answer. I emailed again on 27th to get a delivery date and got a more helpful response, still no actual day as it would depend on what time of day their delivery would arrive. On 29th I received a further email that the supplier couldn't deliver after all and they were cancelling my order. The refund was issued the same day.

Be aware if you pre-order the money will be taken immediately and you still may not get your goods.

I may have just been unlucky (it was for an air conditioning unit after all, in the very hot month of June 2026!).

The cancellation was unfortunately outside our control due to supplier capacity during the heatwave, and we're glad the refund was processed the same day. Terrible customer service from Gary

Terrible customer service from Gary. I ordered a fire alarm, which I presumed was like-for-like. The unit I ordered was not delivered, and an updated version was sent. They did not clearly state this on the website, and now we have to pay for the return. Goes against the Consumer Rights Act "not as described" I should be entitled under the act to receive adequate payment for the return at no cost for the consumer.

Horrible staff don’t know the distance selling laws. Don’t care about customers

Nasty company.
They described an item badly. Didn’t specify in the description which functions the item did or didn’t have.

Then they said it’s my fault it’s wrong,
And that it’s a customers responsibility to go ebesewhere and look up product codes to see if it’s the right item and that it’s not their responsibility.
So I’m forced to pay high shipping costs privately to return it ..

I will never shop with this company again. No matter what. I had a basket full of of items i was about to order and now I won’t.

I highly recommend all diy and electricians avoid this shop completely.

We did offer a return under our standard unwanted goods policy; as the correct product was supplied to order, return carriage does fall to the customer in this instance, though we appreciate that's frustrating. Excellent customer service

Excellent customer service when dealing with a delivery issue. The manager I spoke to was very responsive and compassionate, making my experience with the company a positive one. Also, brilliant radiator, easy to install and effective for heating our spare room.

Very satisfied

Hadn't used Electricpoint before so was a bit wary, but I rang to check they had the product and they were very helpful and the items arrived a few days later, even though they said there might be a little delay. Very satisfied.

Always Brilliant

Always helpful with queries. Really competitive pricing and more help if able. Fantastic sales team, Nick is always brilliant to deal with. Easy to use, order online, communication perfect, tells you when packing, processing, dispatched, etc.

Customer Service was Amazing

Customer service was amazing, speed of response very fast, I got a reply to a technical problem within a couple of hours, and above all I felt the team at electricpoint put the customer first. Finally I dealt mostly with Nick, who impressed me with technical knowledge, and awareness of regulations pertaining to the lighting product I had purchased.

Ordered 2 wall lights

Ordered 2 wall lights, communication was great after order to keep me up to date with what was going on. Received order but they forgot to include the shades, again very responsive and they were sent out within an hour. 10/10. Would definitely use them again.

I paid for a radiator and delivery to…

I paid for a radiator and delivery to my address. They delivered to the street away from my flat and refused to take it to the address I paid for, even though he had a pallet lifter and would have taken him less than 5 minutes. Its much to heavy for me to move.
