After nearly 20 years of traveling with EF Tours, I can confidently say that the Germany and the Alps itinerary ranks among the best experiences I’ve had with student groups. From start to finish, this tour was well-paced, varied, and packed with memorable moments that left both students and adults consistently impressed.
Accommodations were clean, comfortable, and well-located. While student tours don’t require luxury, it’s always a bonus when the hotels are welcoming and functional, and that was certainly the case here. Each one offered a good place to rest after long days of exploration.
The variety of activities is what really made this itinerary stand out. Travelers often remarked that each day had a true highlight, whether it was climbing a castle tower, cruising across a lake, taking in a mountain panorama, or walking through cobblestone villages full of character and history. There was never a dull day, and the itinerary balances cultural learning, nature activities, and fun exceptionally well.
The local guides were knowledgeable, personable, and skilled at tailoring their information to student audiences. They brought the places to life in a way that textbooks simply can’t. Our bus drivers, Przemek and Marcin, were outstanding, consistently professional, calm, and friendly throughout. Their skill and patience navigating tight mountain roads and city streets made everything feel easy and safe.
Special mention goes to our Tour Director, Pam, who approached every day with energy, enthusiasm, and a great playlist. Her ability to connect with the group, keep things moving smoothly, and maintain high spirits was a key part of what made the tour so enjoyable. She set the tone from Day 1 and never let up.
As for the meals, most were satisfying and well-suited to the group. Students especially appreciated when familiar foods made their way to the table, though understandably this isn’t always possible. There were a few meals that could’ve been stronger, but that’s part of the challenge with group travel and local dining. That said, no one went hungry, and several meals stood out as genuine highlights.
I’d recommend this itinerary especially during the warmer months, when the outdoor activities are more comfortable and accessible. The alpine scenery in summer is awesome.
In short, I have no hesitation recommending EF’s Germany and the Alps tour. With nearly two decades of EF experience behind me, I can say with certainty that this one delivers on education and lasting memories. Well done, EF!
