Too salty.

Thank you for your review Thomas. The Wigwam hams are saltier because they are aged over 200 days, resulting in a more intense flavor. Besides the Wigwam, we do have another country ham that is only aged over 90 days which is not as salty.

My husband and I lived in VA for 30 years and always loved making ham biscuits using Smithfield ham. The Wigwam Ham is wonderful and allows us to make these same scrumptious ham biscuits now in Washington state that we made in Virginia. The ham came well packaged and was delivered as scheduled with the ice pack and ham still cold. We are also enjoying it chopped up when stir-frying squash and fresh corn (kernels) from the garden.

good but doesn't have the special flavor these hams usually have. However this is the best product on the market that is reminds me of the hams I grew up with in Tidewater VA. Please continue to make this "Smithfield" type ham available to the public!

It was very tasty, but didn't have that funky taste that I associate with country ham. Perhaps the uncooked wigwam is the way to go for that taste?

Our favorite aged, smoked ham bar none. When sliced very thin, it’s hard to stop eating.

This is the closest to old fashioned Smithfield ham. Smoked and salty. But drier and harder. Not quite as sweet and moist

Our ham was dry and hard, not what I would normally expect. We ordered a petite ham which is fine as usual.

I've been waiting for this. Let me say, I am a long term and previously an extremely satisfied customer. We order your 4 - 5 pound Wigwam hams 4 to 6 times and year and normally cannot wait for them to arrive. However, I am EXREMELY DISAPPOINTED to say this was, without a doubt, the absolute worst ham we ever had. Ended up throwing it away. The ham was VERY dry and Hard and fell into 7 (that's seven) pieces the moment we opened it. It was so rock hard, we could not even slice it. We are so forlorn because you guys have been our Go To place for cured hams for over a decade. I'm sorry to inform you that we are investigating other vendors and only hope we can find one that delivers hams like you used to do. I, of course, have no idea what's happened to your quality control process, but as a friendly suggestion, you better figure it out before you end up going under. Ashby Cockrell 321-228-4213

Great traditional dry cured Virginia ham flavor. A little pricey, but well worth it for the special occasion! Had the super thin, sliced ham for appetizers, and won some new converts on Easter (converts to Virginia ham that is 😀).

first time ordering this item. may be exactly what people, that have ordered in past ,were expecting. Way to salty for me. I was expecting solid piece of meat, but once package opened, could see it was multiple pieces packaged together and pressed into one solid piece. the taste and dryness was as I had hoped, but will probably try something different next time.

I order a 2-3 lb spiral Virginia ham for Christmas. It was delicious. The wigwam was tough and stringy. I’ll never order another Wigwam.
