Founded in 2009 Durham Rose is a studio of talented individuals who are passionate about working with you to create true timeless expressions of your love. Using revolutionary methods of design and production, each and every custom ring produced is a unique one off, truly you and beautifully bespoke. Before we were Durham Rose we were Hot Pink, but as our company grew we decided that our name should grow with us too. Like our bespoke service, we wanted our company’s name to feel truly personal, and what could be more personal than naming it after the couple behind the business?

Melissa truly brings dreams to life! I reached out a few months ago with what I thought was a tight deadline and Melissa reassured me it was not a problem and that everything would be delivered on time. We worked together to bring my vision to life and her and the team over at Durham Rose delivered an absolute miracle piece of jewellery. They allowed for such fine detail and managed to incorporate meaningful design into the ring too, all whilst keeping the diamonds extremely secure. My Fiancé is over the moon with her engagement ring, friends and family have been showering us in compliments over the design and quality. I've succeeded heavily in the engagement ring me and Melissa designed and It couldn't have happened without Durham Rose and Melissa - Almost definitely going to be back for our wedding bands, going bespoke allows for such a unique personal touch to your forever jewellery, I wouldn't do it any other way

Exceeding expectations in every way
I worked with Melissa on an engagement ring for nearly two full years. This was a special moment, and between timing and wanting to get every last detail perfect I took my sweet time throughout the process.
Melissa was nothing but accommodating and understanding, and made the entire process incredibly straight forward. I didn't want to do video calls and risk spoiling the surprise so Melissa patiently went back and forth in what felt like a hundred emails with me. It even took me three separate windows to pick a final diamond, and in the end the ring was even more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. Melissa was always incredibly responsive and helpful, answering any questions I had and then some I didn't realize I should have had.
To say I'd recommend Durham Rose is an understatement. Even looking at local options in Toronto, I got a better final product at a better price and service that was second to none. I'd sooner pay the extra shipping fees and conversion rate to work with Melissa and her team again than take a chance with another local option.
If you're on the fence and reading this review, take this as your sign that you found the right place.

From the start, Melissa was so helpful and patient while my blurry vision of what I wanted was brought to reality by her and the team. I couldn’t be happier with her service and the end product. Melissa and the wider Durham Rose team were amazing in helping me to create a beautiful engagement ring!!!
The design process was smooth and allowed me to create multiple mock ups and figure out which ideas I liked most. Melissa guided me through this process exceptionally offering support and input whenever I needed it.
It was fantastic to see my ideas develop over time and come to life. As the ring was designed and created Melissa communicated at every stage and always replied very quickly to any questions that arose.
Finally the aftercare since receiving my ring has been top notch. With a beautiful hand written note inside (The attention to detail and care has been phenomenal).
I cant recommend the service enough and would say this is a perfect way to create a special piece of jewellery for all budgets!

Exceptional service and skill
Once again the Durham Rose team surpassed themselves.
They made my wedding ring which was very detailed and not a straight forward band (think of a detailed and decorated eternity ring). 10 years on it needed resizing. I wasn’t sure if this was possible, due to the style of the ring. The team not only did it but I cannot work out how! The ring has increased by a size and somehow, on such a detailed and decorated ring, the join is impossible to find.

Bespoke work without the pricetag
Melissa managed to turn somewhat vague and contradictory guidance into something truly beautiful and unique.
At no cost the design went through as many iterations as it took to find one we were truly happy with. They provided advice all along the way even if we erred from it! We only paid small fees when creating the CAD design, and requesting a wax model to check the fit.
Customer service was excellent throughout, friendly and quick to respond.
If you're looking for the perfect ring I'd highly recommend Melissa and Durham Rose. You won't pay a penny until you've found it.

Phenomenal experience from start to finish! I was fortunate enough to work with Mel at Durham Rose to build a bespoke Engagement ring for wonderful girlfriend (and soon fiancé to be!!) Mel was so lovely, so knowledgeable, patient and helpful and went out of her way to make sure the ring was perfect and exactly as I wanted it to be for my partner! All in all it’s been an incredible experience to work with Durham Rose and Mel, and now the ring has been completed and delivered I was totally blown away by it. It literally took my breath away, a true piece of art and I cannot wait to propose to my girlfriend and show her!! Fantastic experience , brilliant ring
Had an absolutely amazing experience designing the rings we wanted , as a lady with a larger ring size it has been stressful until we came into contact with Melissa, she was very patient and understanding and has been so helpful and keeping us updated on this journey. Melissa has helped with any questions we had and has kept us updated along the journey. The rings we designed are stunning and exactaly what we was after. Fantastic ring, design & service
Melissa was amazing and supported me throughout the whole process. Despite changing my mind many times, she had several recommendations and provided multiple new designs each time. She also provided images of how the engagement ring would fit with different wedding bands. The final ring looks fantastic and we have received countless compliments on the beautiful ring. The team also ensured the ring was ready in time for a trip we had planned at short notice. We are both so happy with the final design.

Beautiful bespoke service
I had the most wonderful experience with Durham Rose. I wanted to create a ring that incorporated 3 styles from both my grandmothers and my mum. I sent them photos of all the rings I had and they were able to design something that had elements of all 3. The service has been phenomenal I have worked with Melissa on my journey who’s been so patient and communicative throughout the whole process. It’s so nice to have something that’s been made so bespoke that means so much to me.

Better than we could have imagined!
My fiance came across Durham Rose after we had been to various jewellers looking for an engagement ring - we had found lots of styles that we liked, but none of them were "the one". So we decided to work with DR to create one with our favourite elements from the rings we had tried on. We knew what type and size of stone we wanted, and we were able to work with Melissa to choose our perfect aquamarine after we had sent her ones we had found and vice versa; it is so lovely to be able to say that we chose the specific centre stone for our ring together.
We also really enjoyed the process of creating the design of the ring and tweaking things to make the ring look perfect. We also chose to have a wax model of the ring made so that we could see what it would look like on my finger. The actual finished product is so much more sparkly, heavy and more stunning than I ever thought possible. The craftsmanship is perfect, and we will also be ordering a hard copy of the ring book DR put together of the whole process. It is amazing to be able to see my ring being made in the workshop!
The difference between the original design, to the CAD design, to the wax model, to the actual finished product is very different; if I could go back I'd tell myself to trust the process! And that everything is going to look proportionate, bigger and sparkly than in the original design.
We didn't initially have a timescale for when we wanted our ring, which allowed for changes as and when we thought of them. Melissa was really helpful in adding suggestions and talking us through the kinds of things that were possible.
We will be returning to get matching wedding bands in a few years, and are already looking forward to the process again! Thank you DR

First class service from start to finish. The sapphire fell out of my wife's eternity ring. I wanted to replace it as a surprise for Christmas. In a short time they provided some options for replacing the stone, cleaned the ring and reset it. It arrived back with me very quickly, looked fantastic and it went down very well on Christmas Day.
