Never really found my way around the…
Never really found my way around the app. Tried some specific songs, but the experience wasn't great.
With no hard feelings, I decided to cancel my subscription. That turned out to be impossible. The 'Cancel subscriptipn' button was almost unclickable by being positioned half under the screen.
After that, I ended up on a screen that only offeref me to continue. So, I just deleted my account and didn't even usr my last month.
By the way, how are there only 20 reviews here? With such a well known app, that's extremely suspicious. Sais enough imo.
Update 1: deleting your account doesn't actually cancel the subspription, as stated on the app. Dear lord. To be continued.
Looking for an alternative
I'm almost at the one year point and I'm in the process of searching on line for viable alternatives to Drumeo. The recent update to their app has in my opinion been a disaster. Glitchy, autoplay just happens, it doesn't properly track progress and the new Method is terrible - not a patch on the old version (which is still available on their legacy section). Overall the price seems fair but it's the invitational offers throughout the year to entice new members at a greatly reduced price which sticks in the throat - why not give this to current members to retain the client base? Customer service has been 'ok' not poor not fantastic just 'ok' and it didn't really sort out any of the glitches in the app which I have been experiencing. The Drumeo experience was great to start with but since the apps update it's plunged and I'll be jumping ship as soon as I can find something which works. As for Guitareo another division of the Musora app, don't bother with it, just go to a free YouTube site or do some digging using 'Soundslice' as a search.
A world-class company with a heart
I’ve been using Musora for a while, but I recently had a situation where I needed to reach out to their support team. I was blown away by their compassion and willingness to help.
It’s rare to find a company that actually treats you like a human being rather than just another subscription number. Their content is top-tier, but their integrity and customer service are what truly set them apart. I’ll be a lifelong supporter and will recommend them to anyone. Truly decent, kind people
Drumeo is a shadow of its former self
Drumeo is a shadow of its former self.
Was gonna give three stars since i could not give 2.5. Now that i think about it they are not worth it. Not after what i went through. So 2 stars it is.
Drumeo experienced a notated song purge and lost over 4000 songs in july 2024. Many of us paying drummers were working on songs using their system and had those taken away over night. I lost every single song i was working on.
I had also, the previous month, just paid for a whole year in advance as well. They took my money knowing that the purge was coming.
The method works and turned me into a grade 4 drummer. That is about the only good thing now about the site. Their instruction does work. Just dont expect to do it with the music you like. It will be now with crap you have never heard of or dont care about or even downright hate.
They lost 4000 notated songs overnight one day in july 2024 when rights holders pulled the plug. I now would say that this was due to Drumeo most likely using the songs in an unlicensed manner and "extrapolated" the songs over from Drumeo to "Guitareo", "Pianote" and some other EO that involved singing.
The site lost more than just songs. Any lessons that show cased techniques used in songs or lessons that showed how to play the song were also taken away. The site was literally gutted like a fish. Any and all meaningful, influential or popular songs from all genre's from the past and present were taken away.
Instead you are left with artists nobody has heard of. No AC/DC, no Foo Fighters, no Pink Floyd, no Dua Lupa, No Genesis, no Fleetwood Mac. Just a bunch of people you have never heard of or one hit wonders you did not care for anyway.
Anybody that was anybody in their time of making music is absent.
They still have clips on youtube showcasing songs that they do not even have access to. These songs are a major pull factor for people to the platform. Yet when they sign up they find out that none of the songs they want to learn, are even on the platform. Despite the flashy clips on youtube stating otherwise.
To go from 6000 notated songs to just over 2000 is a huge loss. We lost the entire catalogs of thousands of artists that we could learn. Over night. And even after 15 months of negotiations with lawyers drumeo is not any nearer to restoring the lost content. 15 months.
I hope they get the rights back as it is a good system but right now the site is not worth the money they want for sure.
Complete shady tactice on renewals
Complete shady tactice on renewals, I was given a subscription on a gift and didnt login a single time and they proceeded to charge me for 6 months to where I have had to issue charge back and get the BBB involved.
Do business and use their service as your own peril its been a nightmare to try and claw my money back.
Drumeo had all the potential to be the…
Drumeo had all the potential to be the go-to platform for drummers of all levels: professional production, big-name artist features, and an ever-growing lesson library. On the surface, it sounds like an incredible value. But beneath the polish lies a frustrating experience for long-term users, and serious cracks are starting to show.
Drumeo heavily promotes its extensive artist catalog and song library. But in reality, many featured artists have only one or two songs available—often with no depth beyond that. Even more disappointing, the song library has shrunk significantly, as many tracks were removed after it became clear they had been used without proper licensing. You’ll frequently come across videos that can’t be played or are labeled “unavailable due to licensing restrictions.”
For a platform built around playing along to music, this undermines a huge part of its core appeal.
Another serious concern is Drumeo’s subscription renewal process. The platform engages in what many users consider an underhanded auto-renewal system:
• There’s little to no warning when your annual subscription is about to renew.
• You may be charged the full yearly rate ($240 or more) with no heads-up, even if you haven’t used the platform in months.
• Refund requests are often ignored or denied, even if submitted shortly after renewal.
For a service that’s positioning itself as user-friendly and educational, this lack of transparency feels deliberately misleading and leaves a bad taste.
Drumeo compares its content model to Netflix—where shows and movies rotate in and out. The difference is, Netflix clearly informs users when something is being removed. Drumeo does not. Songs may disappear overnight with no explanation, even if you were in the middle of learning one.
You can request songs through their platform, but you’re unlikely to get a response or see any follow-through. And despite repeated user feedback, navigation remains messy and user experience issues are never addressed.
Drumeo’s lesson content is vast—but poorly organized. Videos feel jumbled, and there’s no intuitive learning path for most users. Beginners can easily get lost. Intermediate or advanced drummers may find themselves sifting through redundant or shallow lessons. While they continue to pump out new content, much of it feels disconnected from what users actually want.
Given the shrinking library, licensing problems, disorganized layout, and opaque billing practices, the subscription cost starts to feel unjustifiable. You’re left wondering:
Where is my money going?
What exactly am I paying for, if the content I came for might disappear tomorrow without notice?
Drumeo began with real passion, created by drummers, for drummers. But it now feels like a corporate product, increasingly out of touch with its users. Licensing mishaps, renewal trickery, disorganized content, and a lack of communication all point to a platform in need of serious reform.
Verdict:
Great idea, poorly managed. Proceed with caution and check your renewal settings.
Under handed auto renew subscription
Although their videos are great, I just signed up for a year and they have auto renew on their accounts with a 90day notice. If you cancel the subscription you loose access to the service and there doesn't seem to be an easy way to turn of the auto renew early.
Very underhanded.
Money Back NOT guaranteed
Their money-back-guaranteed policy is not true.
I paid for an annual subscription with a prepaid card, then I decided to interrupt my subscription within the 90 days of money back guaranteed period.
But, in that same period I had to block my prepaid card due to hacking. Drumeo customer service told me that they can only refund on the same payment method.
It seems odd to me; is that impossible to refund on some other payment method? There are no other solutions?
In conclusion, money refund are not guaranteed. It's simply a good way to gain new client
Excellent Customer Service
I had an issue with my account and the staff there called me right away to sort it out! I am impressed with this company, great value for money and speedy customer service as well. Would recommend!
Automatic renew never asked
Automatic renew never asked. They never email me to confirm a plan from 120 to 240 dollars. I do not use it anymore and they billed me 240 Dollars. i asked few times to have a refund the same day i received the bill but never had any reply. No customer care and my money .. done. I'm really disappointed! Be careful!
Good Instructors, good lessons, BUT ...
Very good tutorials, videos, etc. They have a great variety of different types of music tracks and I liked the lessons. BUT, and this is a big but, their website just doesn't work very well ... It's slow and clunky. The videos sometimes stop working part way through. And often when I want to practise, there's just nothing, (and it's not my connection, all my othe ronline sites work just fine). Very frustrating ...
Drumeo lost customer focus
When things gets wrong when ordering merchandise from Drumeo you are in for a horrible slow way to fix it. They do not reach out to customers, so if the purchase isn’t shipped YOU have to make contact. It first took 11 days until I reached out to them and asked about the shipping. Long story short, I answered any questions they sent, but every time it takes 3-4 days until they reply.
Drumeo has become a high end club with their stars in studio, customer focus gone.
Their money-back guarantee is not real
Their money-back guarantee is not real. I tried getting my money back by emailing them as described on the website and never got a response. I did it multiple times. After more than a month, I started a credit card dispute to get my money back.
Could be good but wasn't
Could be good for some but wasn't my cup off thee. They persuade me with a 90 day money back guarantee but I ended my subscription never the less about one month later. Payed 2 therms meanwhile and after a bunch of ignored emails to Jared, "who offered te guarantee" in some standard email, support and a team drumeo account about how to make use of the guarantee and later claiming the guarantee I just gave up on them. To bad you guys ended up with a one star review from me but I can't help it after you gave me this worthless customer support following up false promises.
Drumeo ‘The Best in Class’
I have played along with and trained with the Drumeo instructors and cannot thank them enough for their content. There is such a wide range of instructors who are very humble in there demonstrations and offer expert guidance. Everything from tracking progress, to play alongs with hundreds of tracks. There are lessons for everyone, at all abilities, clear PDF downloads of sheet music and a super customer service team to help if you get stuck. I cannot speak highly enough of Drumeo and thank them for being so inspiring. Thanks. Paul 🥁
3 stars but expect no help
I'm giving Drumeo a 3 because my son did enjoy the lessons, but my husband (who is a musician) did have to help him through most and explain a little more in detail. After our year membership was up, they charged my card with no warning. I emailed asking for a refund. I got an out of office reply saying they would return on January 2, 2024. On January 2 I didn't get a reply so I reached out again. Nothing. I called their customer service line multiple times and its a recording telling you to wait for next available customer service rep, in which case it eventually just hangs up on you - no one ever came to the line. I did request a refund via email, and with no reply, a refund is back on my card. You guys have a great service but you need to do better with your customer service. We pay way too much to get nothing back from you when we reach out.

Ignoring emails
***UPDATE***
I received a refund the same day drumeo replied to my review.
It doesn't seem common knowledge that companies are able to go to card companies and request the new details of the card, so be aware you need to do a cancellation even if you have new card details and you think they've expired....
Very much appreciate the response and as such my review has been amended
Seems I am the same as the person before me
Details expired on credit card and details weren't updated As we didn't want to renew
Turns out they went to my credit card company and got my new details...
Several emails sent and their own website states 90 days for refund so unsure what the issue is...
Just want my own money back

Absolute rip off
Absolute rip off. Renewed the subscription of $240 without giving prior notice. Tried contacting them several times with no reply. I wouldn't recommended them at all.
