Drive Safe Free Training for Over 60s*
Just did the free Drive Safe course offered by the government. Booking was straightforward over the phone, but you’ll need all your details ready, including your driving license number.
The course itself is really good. The presenters are friendly, know their stuff, and keep everyone engaged. Time flew by, and there’s a practical on-road element where a qualified instructor gives you feedback on your driving. Well worth doing if you’re over 60 and want a refresher.
Special thanks to the course leaders *Zam and Deb* for keeping it engaging, and to *Louise* for the clear, constructive feedback during the driving session.
Two things to note:
1. You need to bring your driving license for the practical drive.
2. Lunch is provided, but if you’re vegetarian, bring your own. I asked about veggie options when booking and got a short response. On the day, there were plenty of meat sandwiches left but the vegetarian options ran out early.
Overall, highly recommended for the content and the instructors. Just plan for your own lunch if you don’t eat meat.
