Poor after sales service

I wrote a letter of concern to Driveaway re one of the hire companies they deal with in Italy. My concerns were ignored.

They are selling products where the same company has been fined by the ACCC. Europcar is practicing the same unfair terms in Italy as it was fined in Australia

They should not be promoting companies who are dishonest and have scams operating which disadvantage the consumer.

They should be selling hire cars from ethical companies and not fraudulent companies as it reflects back on their own company.

Zero after-sale support

We arranged, through our travel agent, to lease a vehicle for 8 weeks in Europe. This included both West and East Europe and we therefore requested navigation coverage for both.
Although this was agreed to and was confirmed as included in the vehicle at our collection point in Rome a decision had been made not to include the Eastern Europe maps because of the cost to Driveaway. We only became aware of this as we crossed a border into Slovenia.
I will let those reading this review make their own judgment of the effect of this on us.
Furthermore, when we contacted the Sydney office for assistance their exact comment was "sorry we can't help with that". Attempts to find a service contact in Slovenia proved fruitless.

Sometimes our bookings can take up to 24-48 hours to confirm, depending on supplier and location. Many of our other locations can be confirmed on the spot.
