I would appreciate a reply from Draytech to this . They supply a GFast modem which , like a number of their commercial routers has recently needed a lot of patching for security . Their email contact from their UK website sends you in a loop ; you provide your email and they send you , ironically to a customer feedback ' page ' . The loop is that you are returned to the same starting page for what is supposed to be email technical assistance but never get there .
I don't know if Draytech are having a crisis . But since their dedicated Gfast Vigor 166 modem won't connect to the internet , it is impossible to apply a late 2024 security patch . I bought a Vigor 166 about 18 months ago . It no longer connects with internet . A much older B.T Outreach Gfast modem still does - but how secure are these older B.T modems with modern 3rd party routers ? There are but few Gfast modem options out there . If you can't patch a Draytech Vigor modem because you can't connect it to the internet and their GUI webface , what are you supposed to do ? The Vigor 166 used to work well , with no problems . So it goes on . The wonderful race towards technological superiority and achievement goes on . Am old , so forgive my cynicism . At least we used to have a very healthy natural ecosystem - as you might put it .
