Avoid at all cost
I found this site on compare the market. I was put through to doddle cover after filling out all my details for car insurance. I spoke with a gentleman who went through all the usual questions with me. He told me the call should take about 10 minutes. It actually took 45 minutes. Every time he put me on hold he told me I would be on hold for 30 seconds. A few minutes later he would come back to me. This happened several times. Anyway in the end he told me he had found a company that would insure me and proceeded to take the first payment. After taking the payment I was then placed on hold yet again. When he came back on the phone he told me he was sorry but the company wouldn't insure me and the payment would be put back into my account. A complete waste of time.

We appreciate how disappointing it must have been to spend such a significant amount of time on the call, especially when you were advised it would be much shorter which it usually is with us.
We've investigated what happened here and unfortunately your specific circumstances had to be referred to the insurer. While we were waiting for them to come back this caused the delays you experienced and subsequently the error in taking payment for the policy. While this does not excuse the experience you had, we sincerely apologise that this outcome was only confirmed after such a long call and following the initial payment being taken. We can confirm that no policy was set up and that the full payment was refunded back to your account immediately.
We’re sorry that your experience did not meet the service we aim to provide, and we appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve going forward.

Bought an insurance policy from company…
Bought an insurance policy from company but then found another policy cheaper. The policy had not even started. They charged me £75 cancellation fee deducted from my refund. They are now threatening me with legal action over an unpaid £75 that they have already taken. A totally shambolic company that doesn't know what its doing
