Liam was very helpful over the phone with advice & made a very good job of my mask. Would recommend them & would definitely use them again if I change my mask.
Waited, waited and waited BUT WORTH IT:)!
It took a long while to come as I think dive site have been super busy pre Christmas …… so order well ahead! But it was well worth the wait. I went for a full prescription Franklin mask and it is without a shadow of a doubt the best one I have ever had. I’ll probably save my pennies and get myself a spare too :-) really enhanced my snorkelling experience in Raja Ampat! (My idea of heaven!). So I forgive you Dive Sight:)
Good Product, Ridiculously bad service
This review is based upon the customer service that I received, not the quality of the product which is fantastic, but the whole experience of using this company was at best being misled or more likely just outright lied to, which is just inexcusable and unnecessary.
I sent my mask in late October, and received mid January, 12 weeks after it was sent. Their website states a max of a four week turnaround, so from week 5 onwards, below is list of my experiences
- Voicemails not returned
- emails not replied too
- when I did get through and spoke to someone, the reason for the delay that were given were
—a lens broke, therefore needs to be redone
— sorry, we got your order mixed up with another customer with a similar name
— we sent this to you early December, looks like the courier lost it, we will do you another one.
That last one is a complete lie, as the package that arrived was postmarked January, was my original mask, and it came back in the same mask container that I sent it in.
Lies are not acceptable, don’t tell me something that you think I want to hear - if you are busy, have supply shortages or whatever the reason is for a delay be honest about and set the right expectation, you will be respected more for that rather than stringing me along with a load of rubbish.
I love the product, I can see so much better under water than before, however this poor service is going make me find an alternative supplier when I need a prescription change.
Franklin Split Lens
I ordered the Franklin split lens for a mask not normally supplied by Dive Sight (Aqua Lung Favola) which they were able to provide. Unfortunately it never arrived in Dubai and Liam kindly replaced the mask - thank you.
I used the mask for the first time last week; fantastic. The increased field of view for the short sight lens meant that I was able to see more detail without moving my head around and also I did not have to position my gauges to see them - I was previously using the Dive Sight bi-focal lens arrangement with a smaller field of view.
There is an obvious line between the two lenses, but it is ‘only there if you look for it’, and you will tend to use the portion of the mask for the task in hand. Some members of the group did think that my mask was half flooded which was interesting!
Overall I will stick with the Franklin split lens when I get a new prescription - the increased field of view was a game changer for me.
Many thanks to Dive Sight for allowing me to dive safely and not having to retire for a few more years yet!!

Liam gave us excellent advice, the service was 5 star, and we received a great mask, delivered with prescription lenses in super quick time. I really can't fault the company. Highly recommend.

I had a short notice ask for lenses in my five mask before a holiday to St Lucia in Nov 22. Liam was great - really clear on what they could do and kept his promise. Mask was outstanding. It’s changed my holiday swims!! Will be back for one for my wife now!
Liam was SUPERB
Liam was SUPERB! I had a very short timeline to get my mask sent to him and for the lenses to be added and sent back before I left for Sipadan. It was extremely smooth - he communicated every step of the way and made sure I got the reassurance to manage my stress! The mask itself, I was worried it was going to look awful and highlight my age!! In fact, underwater, noone mentioned it and only when I asked, they were like "ohhh yes I see now". And best of all, I could see perfectly - my NDL, which of course is the most important thing! Thanks Liam, cant recommend you and Divesite enough (recommended by Kieran in Robinhood Watersports Leeds).

I have used Dive Sight for my new mask I was going to test diving in Thailand. The quality of work is outstanding, quality prescription lenses are fitted inside the mask. I could finally enjoy my diving. Now I am back from the trip and am very happy with the mask, should serve me for years. Highly recommended.
Very complex prescription, and it works!
Got my APEKS VX1 done by Liam, with far-sightedness, astigmatism and bifocals. Others tried to make my prescription and failed. Liam pulled it off.
I decided to have the Franklin split…
I decided to have the Franklin split which, although costly, was worth every penny as it allows me to see perfectly underwater. Liam knows “his stuff” and the advice given was well received.
My only criticism is that communication could be better.
I will certainly use Dive Sight again and have recommended the company to several of my diving friends
Mask improves my photographic experience.
I bought a scuba pro mask with bi focal Len’s that enabled me to see close up for instruments and macro photography and also to see things at distance. The difference this has made to my diving and snorkeling has been fantastic and really e proved my enjoyment as I can now see what photos I am taking and can see the camera controls to capture the image perfectly. Not cheap but for me a great product and well worth the cost for my enhanced underwater experience.
Very good mask
Very good mask, and the lenses I have work really well, it is a "reading" prescription in plane glass so I can see my instruments and dive otherwise clearly. My only niggle is how long it takes to get them! Finished product is costly, but seems worth it, the mask I chose was well priced against buying it elsewhere and sending it, so good. Must not lose this one over the gunwales!
Blurred fish are a thing of the past!!!
Great result, we dive to look at the aquarium, it’s not blurred now!!!!
And the bifocals are great too for the watch/ computer…
Prescription good, communication poor
Have to agree with the poor communication here. I posted off my own mask to Dive Sight too add lenses into and didn't get confirmation for a few weeks that the mask had arrived. I had no update on process.
I wasn't aware that the lens insert wouldn't be made to replace the mask glass - instead they sit inside the mask as large pieces of glass stick into the mask. It would have been good to know how lenses are inserted on existing masks sent over.
The prescription itself is good though and will really help me say a little further on my dives!
Franklin split - great for macro
Finally managed to use my mask bought in July in October. I went for the Franklin split. This is fantastic for macro, but I maybe could have done with a slightly larger mask overall as the Franklin split (obviously) reduces the amount of distance vision. However, overall I am delighted and am very happy with Dive Sight's service.
Definitely not recommended
I don't like writing negative reviews, especially for small independent companies. But I've had a really frustrating experience with DiveSight. I needed a mask within a relatively short period of time (but still within their delivery windows) because I live abroad and am only in the UK for a few weeks a year. Before placing the order I called and was told it would be fine. Let's just say it wasn't! Mask wasn't in stock, despite being available on their website. Very poor email communication throughout the process (beyond their automated emails). Weird one line emails that inherently go to spam. Zero apologies or explanations for ongoing delays. Apparently my order has now been shipped.....3 weeks after I left the UK! So I now have a £350 mask sitting at my parent's house for 6 months until I next go back to the UK. Very disappointing, mainly because of the total lack of regret, apology or offer of compensation. Avoid if you can.
Good communication
Good communication, excellent choice of products, lens to suit most types. Prescription lens were spot on for what I need,they saved me from having to give up diving
Franklin lenses
The service was very quick and I was kept up to date with the progress of my order. When receiving the mask I was not happy with the line which went across my eyeline and I found it hard to read anything. This was standing in the garden, so I thought I would hold fire on my review until after I had used the mask. I have now completed 16 dives using the mask and from the first one it was absolutely perfect. Whilst diving your body is in a different position to standing, so do not make a judgement on trying it on when taking it out the box. I will definitely go back to Divesight when I need another mask. They did fit the lenses to a mask that I supplied.
