STAY WELL AWAY, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
My husband and I have been insured with DeCare Dental for over a year now and I am so fed up! Every claim, legitimate claim, is declined because they don't read the receipts. I have PTSD every time I get an email with a new claim statement because I know there will be an issue. The mistakes are shocking!!
I had a root canal earlier this month and submitted the receipt, highlighting the treatment date, not the consultation date. The statement came with the consultation date, for which there was no charge anyway, but this date fell before the one year waiting period for a major treatment, sorry not covered! This morning I received the second claim statement which only needed the treatment date corrected, after I sent 3 more documents/receipts showing the correct treatment date, allowing my treatment cover and they have the wrong date again, not covered!😡
I am meticulous, honest and not stupid. I am not going to chance my arm submitting a claim knowing that it is not covered, wasting my time and theirs! If I was doubtful, I would call them to clarify. My account is debited every month, I'm paying for dental cover, with genuine claims and pardon the pun, but it's literally like pulling teeth!!
Having been a medical secretary to several consultants, attention to detail is paramount. DeCare Dental, please train your staff to actually read carefully the documents submitted, saving us all the extra work and stress!
I know if we move to VHI, we will have to go through the waiting period again but it would be worth it to be free of this stress....
