Would be very careful of any trials offered over social media. Took out a no obligation trial of 5 comics for £1. they subsequently charge you £14.50. items were sometimes delivered twice in a week and then some weeks without. all in the T&C's. would avoid this scam although apparently its not a trial but a commit to a subscription. Lesson learnt

No issues with delivery of the magazine.

On the 26th June my Brother and I bought a subscription for my mother's 83rd Birthday to the 'Peoples Friend' a magazine she lives for, we are advised by email that the first edition would arrive on the 25th July (some 3 weeks after her Birthday on 2nd July, why such a delay is required to set this up is anyone's guess) Along comes the 25th July ... and nothing is received! Spoke by 'chat' to an agent who said there was a set up problem and that she would email me with solutions, nothing happened. Spoke by phone to an agent on the 7th August who sent a very long email explaining the problem, that she would post back copies and ensure the magazines would start rolling - As at 18th August Nothing - Silence, I have an 83 year old mother who cannot understand the explanations I have been giving her, and frankly I am no longer prepared to make excuses for bad customer service. Come on Thomson's, Lets get this sorted out please...!

I’ve ordered a Scots Mag for my Gran for years paying annual DD until 2024. In Aug 25, I paid by card for 14 months ending Oct 26. I received an email early 2026 saying it was cancelled. The email was addressed to my gran. DCT have only spoken with me over the years. I never thought much about it and presumed it had been cancelled until last week where I received an email, again addressed to Gran, to ask her to return. I emailed cust servs and in the reply from you, a customer ID 2400150942 was quoted then I was told in a further email I wasn’t the customer/bill payer and couldn’t make changes.

Today, I have called and chatted to the an advisor who asked me for an address which was not mine nor grans. But a third party, a relative who is deceased. Hinting at the name but not fully giving me it. It would be funny if it wasn’t so serious. You have no grasp of GDPR and should be sanctioned.

In the end, and exasperated, I cancelled the subscription with £15 expected back to my card. I will use it to go to a shop and buy them.

You’ve made an absolute mess of muddling two accounts and claiming you are following GDPR where in fact you have done the opposite. Hopefully all calls and emails are recorded and lessons learnt although I doubt it.

I wouldn’t use you again.

I enjoy reading so have plenty of that and also learn about countries and traditions from places I’ve only heard of

Delivery service is always on time only hold up I have had if there is a problem with the post person

I have been trying to restart my son's Beano subscription for 6 months to no avail. Have spoken to many many DC Thompson agents both on the phone and by email. Each time I have been assured that the subscription is active, I have done everything I can at my end, but sadly each time it fails.

The staff appear to be poorly trained in their systems. If you have any opportunity to get your subscriptions from another source, I urge you to do so.

I have reading DC Thompson since l could read. First it was comics and the magazines. I love to read and reading 📚 the magazine is my relaxing time. Enjoy all the stories and the content of the magazine.

Magazines always arrive on time. No problems.

The people's friend is usually delivered on time.

home delivery saves me having to remember to go to the shop every week

There are times when I have been too busy to read all the articles, stories and many other items. However, I don't just throw magazines in the rubbish bin but try to keep up when I have the opportunity.
My husband does read some of the articles about areas of this country and other items which he enjoys.
Keep up your good standards.

I really love the magazine.
I read all the items and tick of as I go.
The short stories and serials are first class. In fact I haven't read a novel since taking out the subscription.

No complaints about the magazine itself, though the “Royal Mail" delivery service used is a complete joke. Go without a weekly delivery & then 2 delivered together. Postal mail seems to be delivered on one day every 14 days.

Three editions, December 2025, March 2026 and now April 2026, are yet to be received and there has been no response to my email of 30 March 2026 regarding the December 2025 and March 2026 editions

Fair subscription price for regular weekly delivery. Have been reading it for more years than I can remember!

Love the efficiency of the company as well as loving the Scots magazine
