Low review rating for a reason

I was genuinely disappointed by my experience with DB Journey and, unfortunately, I cannot recommend shopping with them after what happened. I had used a discount code that was initially accepted at checkout and shown in the total, but after entering my payment details, the order changed and I was charged a different amount than the one I had agreed to. That alone was extremely concerning, as I authorised one price and was then charged another.

What made the situation worse was the response from customer service. Instead of taking responsibility for the checkout issue and handling it properly, I felt spoken down to and treated as though the problem was entirely my fault. I explained clearly that I understood the discount code I used was not valid for my purchase, but that was not the main issue. The real issue was that the site accepted the code, displayed a price, and then took a different payment amount after I had already committed to the order.

I also asked for the company’s complaints procedure and was ignored, which only added to my frustration. A customer should never have to chase basic accountability after a payment error, especially when the company itself later acknowledged the technical issue and cancelled the order. At that point, I had already been put through unnecessary stress and felt completely dismissed.

In my view, this was not just poor service - it was a serious failure in the checkout process that resulted in a payment being taken on terms I had not agreed to. Whether you want to call that a technical failure or something more serious, it is unacceptable for a customer to be left to deal with the consequences while being made to feel responsible for the problem. I expected better from a brand I had previously liked and trusted.

I would strongly urge other shoppers to be cautious. If a company can change the amount charged after checkout, fail to handle the issue respectfully, and then ignore a request for its complaints procedure, that raises serious concerns about how it treats customers when things go wrong. Based on my experience, I will not be shopping with them again.

I bought the Ramwerk Pro Check-in

I bought the Ramwerk Pro Check-in, for $750 dollars and used it for its first trip a few weeks later. When I got home, I noticed that the clamps on the side would not close properly and that it was caused by a bulge in the shell.

As this was its first trip, and the bag was only a month old I assume making a warranty claim would be no problem, but I was sorely mistaken. Despite me not being sure when the bag was damaged, as I had been on a train, in a taxi, strolling about town etc with the bag, and the damage was only apparent when I got home, DB concluded that without a doubt the damage must have been due to mismanagement by the airline. They blatantly said it was obvious not a quality issue, despite only having my story as above to go from. I can add that my girlfriend's Samsonite went through the exact same steps and journey and hers arrived completely unscathed.

Long story short, if you want an expensive suitcases, that looks ok, has really poor quality, a worthless warranty and horrible customer service to go with it, I recommend the Ramwerk pro Check in. If not go for another brand that has a better price to quality ratio or a warranty policy that is actually worth something.

Can’t recommend

Poor quality, awful customer service, meaningless warranty

Zipper completely broke on my Ramverk backpack just over 2 years after purchase. Got a standard "outside warranty" response, which felt pretty ridiculous given the price of the bag and the fact that their own terms list defective zippers as a covered manufacturing defect.

Reading through these reviews, it's clearly a recurring issue. Broken zips, broken handles, torn bags +a warranty that seems to be for advertising more than anything else. Given the price and the service, I'll be taking it up with consumer authorities in Norway and Latvia.

Long story short: don't buy. The same money gets you a much better, much more durable backpack elsewhere.

Jeg søkte reklamasjon på en Douchebags 25L-sekk etter at den fikk skader uten at jeg selv hadde forårsaket det. Prosessen var enkel og ryddig, og reklamasjonen ble godkjent uten problemer. Jeg fikk tilsendt en helt ny sekk raskt. Veldig fornøyd med både produktet og kundeservicen!

5 years as an EDC and it's coming apart.

I've had my backpack for 5 years now and used it for school and now my work. Simple low load of a laptop, notebook and waterbottle. Up until now it's held up decently, with a few things becoming loose since buying it, but nothing major. Until today, I'm on the train and I'm noticing more or less all of the faux leather is cracking up and peeling off... It's a big blow as it's now looking like shit.

Can't take the Douchebag out of Db

Jeg har hatt en Hugger 30L i under to år og for en stund siden la jeg merke til at det hadde begynt å slites et hull i stoffet i ryggen. Jeg har i grunn vært fornøyd med sekken, selv om halve jorden har samme merke, og tenkt at det er et kvalitetsmerke hvor dette ikke skal skje. Derfor kontaktet jeg Dbs kundeservice med håp om at de var enig i at dette ikke var en kvalitet de ville stå inne for. Dessverre viste det seg at de kan det.
De mente at slitasjen skyldes en ekstern gjenstand (min rygg) og at det derfor ikke var en feil med produktet.
Jeg mener derimot at en ryggsekk bør tåle å være i kontakt med en rygg.

Til info har jeg ikke gått Norge på langs med sekken, den er brukt av en voksen mann til og fra jobb. Noen ganger innebærer det en gåtur på 2km, men oftest (dessverre) er innebærer det 200 meter til og fra t-banen.

What a worthless company

What a worthless company: NEVER BUYING from them again. They sent me 2 bags that broke during warranty, but reported 1 month after, and are unwilling to offer a return or repair.

Specifically, the 90L Hugger Roller (handle broke, manufacture defect) & the 21L (zipper broke)

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS BRAND! AVOID IT

The worst purchase I have ever made

I’ve owned the DB Journey Medium Blackout Pro check-in suitcase for about 8 months and it’s pound for pound, the worst purchase I’ve ever made.

For context, I fly short haul roughly once a month, so this suitcase has done about 8 return trips. That’s hardly extreme use, yet it’s already fell apart. One corner smashed in with the internal plastic snapped, and on another trip it came off the carousel with a huge crack on the opposite corner, about 10cm long and big enough that I could literally see my clothes through it.

The wheels have now started to squeak and don’t roll smoothly, and the “Blackout” finish is completely battered with scratches and chips all over. It looks less like premium luggage and more like it’s been through a demolition derby.

I’ve actually had to throw it away because it’s beyond saving. This simply isn’t fit for purpose if you travel regularly. It’s not good enough for DB to brush this off as “airline handling” , airlines handle everyone’s luggage, and I’ve had cases costing a third of the price last years, not months.

In fairness, it is a lovely looking suitcase… provided you never travel with it. Honestly, it’s perfect if your main hobby is admiring luggage at home and you’d hate for it to experience something stressful like, you know, an airport.

Super Kundenservice!

Ich hatte zwei Rucksäcke bestellt und einen zurückgegeben. Nach längerer Zeit hatte ich noch keine Info zur Retoure erhalten, weshalb ich dem Service geschrieben habe. Innerhalb 1 Stunde hatte ich eine Antwort inkl. direkter Rückerstattung des Geldes. Top Kundenservice!

Very poor costumer service and poor quality product

Very poor costumer service. I got gifted backcountry backpack 25l for Christmas its hardly been used and after my first trip its started coming loose at the seems i repaired 2 of them quickly afraid it would get more damaged. It did anyway it came loose on all the seems on both sides. So 3 seems on the left side of the straps and 3 seems on the right. When contacting db they said external objects had created the seems coming loose… which is a ridicules claim. As it was a gift i dont have the receipt, but my friend was abel to find the date of purchase from bank transcripts. They still dont except it as they want the original purches proof.

Giant rip in bag, first outing

Brand new ski roller bag with a big tear next to the skis. Lasted one trip. The material at the top isn't the same thicker material at the base. Does not mix well with sharpened edges packed as per instructions (not overfilled either) and not covered by warranty. Great design guys, waste of money. Warranty doesn't cover transport. Well were else am I going to be using it?! Fix your unsuitable bags and continue the thicker tarp material to protect the bags from edges.

Spent 30 minutes trying to add my…

Spent 30 minutes trying to add my thougts/register for extended warranty. Giving up, never tried bag which is replacing samsonite which did not survive 2 vacations/flights, Inittialy looks good but no compression straps inside... and how hard can it be to register a purshase?

Har returnert en db ryggsekk som var…

Har returnert en db ryggsekk som var stripete og stygg i stoffet. Hører ingenting fra de , det har nå gått 3 uker siden jeg returnerte sekken. Har sendt mail og får ikke svar. Dette lageret ligger i Askim, skulle tro det var mulig å ringe de, men nei, ingen kontakttelefon. Handler ikke her igjen. Sekken er betalt, hva gjør jeg nå?

Great support!

We bought the Hugger backpack last year from a retail store in Amsterdam, after almost one year of use, the zippers were broken. I contacted with the main company, Db journey, just to mention that and ask if I had a warranty. They answered me right back and guide me with all the steps to claim my warranty. Long story short now I have already received a brand new backpack, so I have to share my wonderful experience with the brand and the client service. Thank you guys 🙏🏼 much appreciated your guidance and help. Keep doing great work!

Bad Quality

Bad Quality. I was happy at the beginning. Than den zipper broke after two years. I can’t close it anymore. I tried to reach out to the db and i did not get any answer. Cant recommand.

Broken zipper and no chance to get it repaired by DB Journey - eventhough It is clearly a production mistake,
This is not what you would expect from an expensive ‘quality’ brand.

I wish I had read all the bad reviews and comments from people with similar experiences before buying.

The ‘life time guarantee’ and the return/repair policy is nothing but a marketing stunt.

I cannot recommend to buy their products.
