Best Event Magician 2023 – East Anglia Dave Royal is based in Norwich, Norfolk, and was tutored from the age of 15 years in the art of sleight of hand, stagecraft and business in entertainment by Professor Harry Carson, himself a Gold Star Member of the Inner Magic Circle. Dave Royal performs close up magic at weddings and private parties all over the UK, with emphasis on audience participation, comedy and laughter. Entertaining guests including HRH The Princess Royal, Lord and Lady Coke, The Duke and Duchess of Kent and Sir Samual Roberts, Dave Royal has performed close up magic in prestigious venues such as Holkham Hall, Cockley Cley Hall, The Savoy Hotel, The Grosvenor House Hotel in London and De Vere Hotels on a regular basis. Through his career, Dave Royal has had the privilege and pleasure of being invited on to the stage with Derren Brown, the late Paul Daniels and Ali Cook.

Dave recently entertained for us at my big birthday. He did an amazing job, circulating with our guests and keeping them mesmerised for over 2 hours. Dave’s communication from the onset of the booking to the night itself was exceptional. We cannot recommend him enough for any party, wedding or corporate event where you want your guests to see something mind blowing that they’ll be talking about for a long time !

Exceptional astounding magic
Dave came to our house to entertain guests for my birthday. He mingled with the crowd and immediately started astounding everyone with his tricks. Absolutely unbelievably clever and talented. He did a wide variety of stunning close up, mind bending, magic. He did some tricks where he appeared to mind read and knew things he couldn’t possibly have known or guessed. If you want to be entertained, Dave is definitely the guy to call. Everyone was talking about it the day after.

Superb performance
We were lucky enough to see Dave perform a few tricks for us and he left us suitably baffled all the way through. His presentation was witty and very entertaining. I very much look forward to watching to watching him perform again. There’s no cards hiding up this man’s sleeves!
