Great service at short notice

Thank you for taking me at very short notice for an Air-Con regas. Super customer service and clear explanation of what needed to be done. Checked pressure before fill and and was reassured that if it starts blowing hot again I can return as they have dye in gas which will help identify leaks.

Confident that my vehicle is in safe hands.

I recently visited Dan's Garage based on a recommendation, and I can see why it came so highly praised. The customer service was outstanding, with quick and efficient responses. I appreciated the clear instructions sent via email, and the booking and repair process was impressively prompt—my vehicle was fixed within 48 hours of my initial call. This garage is truly faultless, and I will definitely return, confident that my vehicle is in safe hands.

Dan's garage

Just got back after leaving car for some work yesterday and getting it back today.

Garage was excellent, from quality to service to speed and cost with a friendly and helpful attitude.

Will definitely use again

Great service

I contacted Dan's garage when my car wouldn't start. They quoted and fixed the issue within 24 hours. Amazing. Highly recommend.

Another pleasant experience at dans…

Another pleasant experience at dans garage again. Always a five star service and nothings a problem either a big or small issue. Have used Dan for many years now and will continue to do so. Good luck in your new premises 👍

Rebrand to Dodgy Dans

Rebrand to Dodgy Dans! Your garage has shoddy customer service and shoddy work! I have a £15,000 metal box on my drive now. 7000 miles after taking it to this garage.. December 2023 I buy a van from a trusted van garage.. it had work done to it before they could sell it like brakes etc. (which I'm obtaining the documents)... My power steering pump went 6 months after buying my van so thought Dan's Garage would be most convenient. When I took the van there I specifically said to receptionist that it was just the power steering but could they also check over everything and anything that needs changing. Then I received a quote of £3500 like wow lol... So I look through the quote and they try quoting me £1,100 for my brakes and nothing was wrong with them.. so I got that taken off the quote... (Rip Off) ... The quote was still £2,400 I thought I would just go with it as I was planning to convert my van which has £7,000 worth of work done inside aswell so my £15,000 metal brick is really a -£23,000 metal brick ATM... I'm no mechanic but if you ask an apparent trusted garage to check over everything and charge you £2,400 and half that stuff isn't even necessary to have been done.. unlike when you see their was wearing on my aux belt and you didn't inspect to figure out if the pullies were causing the aux to defect... So you change my aux belt aswell as charge me for the tool to put it on! And instead of changing the components with the aux belt you changed loads of other things that was less recommended... If I was a mechanic and if I knew about vehicles I wouldn't be wasting my time with scumbag garages like yourselfs... As I would do it myself! But when you see a trusted garage you would expect the standards to be better.. while my van was in their garage.. I had no updates and was continuously ignored which I have previous emails and call attempts... And then get my van back only done 7000 miles since having £2,500 worth of work done which you would think everything has been checked, clearly not... When I took my van to your garage and your garage changed my aux belt why wasn't my pullies changed with it! And why wasn't I asked about it when you said the aux belt needed changing... I went to your garage yesterday asking for the Dan.. He wasnt there went back yesterday afternoon he still wasn't there... Then the cowboys inside said it wasn't their problem but if they had reason to change my belt then the pullies should have been checked properly!... They said they can book me in next Wednesday meaning I have now no van, no job, losing £300 a day plus the £23,000 brick on my drive... When I went back up there they sent me another quote to fix the van which is apparently the bottom pulley of £500 including the quote says there will be a charge for the aux belt which they haven't even looked at the state of the belt so how can you tell the belt is bad when it's done 7000 miles. On top of that it says there will be further costs when they decide to chuck another grand or 2 on top for something that's has nothing wrong with it... After spending £2500 at your so called trusted garage my van lasts 7,000 miles... So as it stands I'm down £23,600 thanks to your bad practices .. I will be contacting trading standards and I will get the proof from every garage this has had work at to prove half the work didn't need doing... Your just money grabbing scammers! You don't care about the customers.. so now I'm going to teach you about consumer rights! I sent an emailing asking for the document of the inspection taken when they inspected my van... And ask for the agreement of towing In writing as I believe I was going to get charged for that as they never said.. which my van was never towed..and no response to email. They even said to me to drive it up there and before they said that they say I shouldn't drive it! And it says online not to drive it so great recommendation from your garage.. Also they said it's a common part to go so why wasn't it changed with the auxiliary belt! When I asked for everything to be checked and changed that would needed changing! When half the stuff you did had changed was less common to go!.. The receptionist wouldn't give me Dan's details, I didn't receive no agreement of towing and didn't receive Danny boys number so I'm here to get your attention! And to let everyone know about my experience with this untrusted garage! YOUR WEBSITE IS A LIE AND YOUR PARTS DON'T COME WITH 12 MONTH WARRANTY.. PLUS THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE.. 👍

Further to your review of our garage services, we feel it's important to clarify the details for transparency and to give the true picture to all our customers.
You brought your vehicle to us in June 2023, and now 11 months and 7,000 miles later, you believe the work carried out, or not carried out, caused your vehicle to fail. We dispute this as any issues would have appeared much sooner, if not immediately, not almost a year later.
The pulley you mention was in good working order last June and did not need replacing when we changed the auxiliary belt. Any current issues are likely due to wear and tear. You stated you had another garage check the vehicle more recently without them noting any problems before your breakdown.
Full Details:
In June 2023, you asked us to service your vehicle, check the power steering, address a suspension issue, and remove locking wheel nuts. We provided an estimate for necessary work, including replacing power steering components, service parts, suspension arms, bushes, and a turbo hose. We also noted that your brakes were almost worn out and provided a quote for them. You chose to exclude brake work to save costs, handling this yourself at a later date.
The revised estimate was approved by you via text prior to any work beginning. Our technicians checked all auxiliary drive components at this time and found them in good order. We do not unnecessarily replace parts to maintain honesty.
After completing the work the invoice was settled without any issues, and a detailed breakdown of the components that were changed was provided.
Now 11 months later and with an extra 7,000 miles driven, you've reported a breakdown. You showed us a video indicating a potential crank pulley failure. This however could not be confirmed by the video alone.
Given the information to hand, but without having inspected the vehicle, we provided an estimate for replacing the crank pulley and included the auxiliary belts in the estimate to cover all possibilities. Our intent was to ensure that if a replacement was necessary there would be no unexpected cost increase; if not, we would reuse the existing belts. A line was included stating there may be further damage as again without seeing the vehicle we could not guarantee what the issue was. You stated to us in person that the vehicle had been driven back home following the breakdown. In our opinion if the auxiliary belts had not been driven, and due to the possible failure of the crank pulley, the water pump would not have operated, potentially causing the engine to overheat.
On 1st May, we agreed to collect the vehicle from your home at no charge, and even suggested that you should be present during the inspection so we could fully explain and detail to you the findings in front of your own eyes. Following your request on 2nd May for a written towing agreement and additional details, Dan made several attempts to contact you via phone and then emailed you .
By this time however you had come into our premises on several occasions shouting and swearing at staff, pacing up and down our workshop and slamming doors, demanding to be given employees personal details, and following staff from neighbouring companies through the village. We therefore decided that we could not have you on our premises again and that any offer of work (free and paid) would be rescinded. You have then gone on to personally attack employees online and write unfounded and inaccurate statements.
We confirm also that no special tools were charged for changing the auxiliary belt fitting, as none are needed.
Where stated parts come with a 12-month warranty covering components and labour, but not external damage as is industry standard practice. Our records and reviews on TrustPilot and Google show our commitment to excellent service.

We hope this clarifies all concerns and demonstrates our dedication to customer satisfaction and transparency.

Excellent work

Dan has looked after both my Jeeps for 2 years, excellent work, and excellent knowledge and they often go beyond to make it work around my schedule. I have had lift kits added, welding work done, replacement parts and general maintenance/mot work.

Very friendly as usual ( second time)

Very friendly as usual ( second time) - happily adjusted their initial quote after agreeing a different type of product. And as I couldn’t pick up my car they delivered it home for me ( I live very close which was why)
