I had originally purchased the Daniel Essa shoes with the rubber straps - the straps pulled the surfacing of the leather off of the shoe. I provided this feedback on Trust Pilot and a Daniel Essa Customer Service representative immediately contacted me, and provided me with a new pair of shoes in a different style. Top-notch customer service, and they stood by their product.
