Highly recommended. Ethan at Hawk Cycles in Cradley was so supportive with my issue regarding axle bearings on my rear wheel. A Tale of Two Cities, but from awful to excellent

I have literally left Hawk Cycles Cradley Heath and, it was the first time I have ever been in the shop. And will definitely be my last.

I've no issue with someone having their snack at the counter and another guy doing all the work. I've no issue with the incredible amount of displayed bicycles and accompanying tools.

However, the tool who 'served' me spoke fewer words than my reservation number I read out.

He was a surly cont. No 'Morning' no 'Hello' no actual acknowledgement of my existence. I've had pursue the whole transaction if picking up my pre-ordered items.

Even when it was completed, he didn't actually say and took being asked if it was all done ('Just doing your receipt').

My Partner tried to engage with him about a potential sale regarding her bicycle needing servicing he scornfully replied as if having to speak was an effort in itself and then made some point about lower brackets...

Thank you for saving me money and time from ever coming here again.

And when did customer care become such an effort for people in customer service roles??!

Part 2: Having got home and found the tyre was the incorrect size (even having checked with the staff member mentioned above), we decided to return and refund the lot.

Upon arrival, the staff there were exceptionally polite, very engaging and explained in detail the differences of bicycle tyres, even when 'correct size'.

Really lovely staff, nothing was too much and a real Tale of Two Cities from the morning experience.

Amazing customer service!

Amazing customer service and product. My son picked out a bike that was showing as not possible for delivery. Being based 200miles from the nearest shop made this difficult. But one e-mail asking if delivery was possible led to the bike being delivered FOC within 3 days! Would highly recommend!

Purchased a child’s bike on Monday

Purchased a child’s bike on Monday, delivered the following day. Sadly it arrived damaged in transit.
Phoned immediately, and that’s when the action started. Within 24 hours a new bike was assembled and collection was arranged. Collected with grateful thanks.

Easy transaction.
Excellent communication, over and above service for the bicycles purchased.
Very understanding and effective about sorting out a mistake that was completely my fault.

Outstanding service at Cradley Branch

The staff at the Cradley Heath branch are absolutely outstanding, so I always visit Hawk Cycles for my biking needs. The staff are super friendly and always incredibly helpful. Getting repairs done is always very fast, accurate and at very reasonable prices with excellent communication throughout. Highly recommend!

Should have been 5 stars

The order and paying straight forward on line. Gentleman who called and confirmed bike was mine 5 stars. However I felt the guy who served me in the shop made me feel I was not important, very blunt on the verge of rude at Cradley Heath. Had to ask for a demo of how bike folded
Coventry store everything excellent and explained to me 5 stars for Coventry too. Felt my purchase was valued. Also had the after sales details and servicing explained to me

Lovely customer service today

Lovely customer service today. My husband has a few heath issues and sales team were really nice. Allowed him to have a ride around car park. And they are delivering next week really good experience.

Purchased £1600 Ebike in March

Purchased £1600 Ebike in March, been back to the store 3 times now for the same fault, still not resolved.
2nd time the comment from one of the staff was, we are only allowed 15 minutes to diagnose faults.
3rd time I asked, "what do I do this time if it's still the same?" reply from the manager serving so his name badge stated "not our problem, take it up with the manufacturer"
I didn't buy it from the manufacture, and have warranty with Cycle king.
Still not right, so I'm left with a £1600 piece of scrap metal basically and no chance of resolving.
To add to insult, first 2 times taken in, I have nice correspondence from them, 3rd time was told it would take a week to repair, fully understandable, and nice to see their busy. 3 days later text only to say bike ready collect now or we will charge you for storage.
Great customer service NOT!!!

With regards to the reply sent.
The has been no attempt to derestrict the bike as explained the service engineer. As for the comment regarding the test riding for 15 minutes but I declined, you had the bike on this occasion for over one week, due to myself being out of the country, and you were happy to keep it and do so. I came i to collect and was told all is good and repaired, which was wrong. My question having spent £1600 with you, is why would I take is somewhere else and pay for a repair when I have 13 months warranty with you. If your unable to repair the bike to an acceptable standard then refund the money you so quickly took. As for the manufacturer they have not seen the bike, I had to chase the repair as you were incapable, they advised you what it could be only.
Finally, as for mentioning my friend, who is actually a colleague, how unprofessional, I have never mention my colleague / Friend so why would you?

Hello. Thank you for your feedback. Our records show that you brought your bike in after an attempt to derestrict it, which caused a few issues. The mechanic reset this, and your friend's bike with the same issue - test rode it for 15 minutes and it was fine. They suggested that if you wanted to leave it with us longer than the 15-minute test ride, you would be welcome to do so, but you declined. As things stand, we cannot find any issue with the bike, nor could the supplier. You are welcome to take it to another bike shop if you prefer a different level of service.
