FRAUD!!!

FRAUD!!!! FRAUD!!!!! I CONTACTED THE United States Patent and Trademark Office and they confirmed they are a scam and DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY! I am out over $1000 and they took my website down because they didn't get their way! They will come after you after they are done with the website about paying $1500 for trademark and will send a US Trademark letter and I confirmed this is a FRAUDULENT (I have proof).

This company will also harass you for money and they will not stop. They will fight with you and are not tactful about it. Now that they didn't get their way, they closed down my website after it's already been paid for along with extended help and that is gone too.

SO DO NOT USE THEM, DON'T EVEN START. I HAVE PROOF FROM THE UNITED STATES PATENT & TRADEMARK OFFICE AND THEY CONFIRMED THIS IS A SCAM AND TOTAL FRAUD!!!!

Also if you here from Gary Rodgers or anyone from Design Genius - RUN!

WHAT A SCAM

I google this company JUST to make a logo for my small start up business. I think I paid maybe $59. I didn't want any other services at this time because I was not doing business full time and I was not consistent. Just wanted a logo. This what I received months later.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I contacted them to create a logo, business cards (stationary including envelops) which I was scammed for) and website. I got a quote for $400, but I ended up paying $1,900 for ONLY business cards and DOMAIN of a website that can't be verified on Google. I am so upset with this company, I wish there would be a regulation institution that can remove them from being on business.

Total scam as others also report. I purchased a logo in August 2025 and in October started getting threatening emails. They first refused to provide the logo I paid for unless i also paid $750 for copyright. I requested a refund or my logo. They gave it to me but are now harassing me. Saying they changed their policy and to comply or stop using the logo. Total BS scam. DO NOT USE this company. I did the same purchase from
Free Logo Services in 2023 and NEVER had a problem. Only reason I went here was due to a specific feature that Free Logo Services could not provide.

FRAUD SCAM BEWARE!!

I started my new business and needed a logo and website, so I purchased the Logo Platinum package from Custom Design Genius for a promotional price of $399 (advertised as $499), which included the logo, website, and printed business cards with “100% Satisfaction, 100% Ownership Rights and Money Back Guarantee.” After receiving the logo, I paid $300 for the domain name and $1,919 for one year of hosting and maintenance. While communicating with the company, every email reiterated the satisfaction and guarantee claims. When they notified me the website was “finished,” I requested login access to the portal to make edits, but did not receive it. Shortly afterward, I received an email proposing to register my logo and business name with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the U.S. Copyright Office for an additional fee. I declined based on my attorney’s advice; we had already begun the patent process a month before engaging Custom Design Genius, and our business name had been trademarked twelve years ago. After we advised Custom Design Genius that we would not proceed with their registration service, the fraudulent activity began. Soon after, I received a text from my credit card company alerting me to a $2,050 unauthorized charge by “INNOVATIVE ANIMATIONS.” I identified it as fraud and cancelled my card. At this point, I ceased all communication with Custom Design Genius, as they had stored my card information without my knowledge or consent. The situation escalated, and we received harassing emails alleging unauthorized use of our logo and business name, and text messages from someone claiming to be attorney Allen Johnson from Legal Department, IP ACT USA. When I asked for his attorney license number, he gave #296484, which I discovered belonged to Rocky Allen Johnson in California, not New York. I contacted Attorney Johnson’s firm, forwarded the messages, and he confirmed he was not involved and would contact the company for misuse of his identity. He also offered to help if we needed to pursue harassment charges. The final correspondence was from “Gary Rogers, Head of Legal Affairs” at Custom Design Genius, which again threatened action for unauthorized use of our logo. We are now moving forward with harassment charges. Buyers should be extremely cautious with Custom Design Genius—their seemingly attractive advertising hides what we experienced as fraudulent practices.

SCAM ALERT

SCAM ALERT! Paid for an artwork design more than a year ago and just received an email from Gary Rogers - Head of Legal Affairs stating that that have received formal notification from the "State Office" that the rights associate with my design have expired and that my design is currently in use without federal permission.

So, I can pay I can continue to use the design I paid $150 for and additional $499 - OR - I can request a formal closure letter to withdrawal the registration from "federal records" and cease any further claim to the mark. And I can do this for the low, low price of $499. TOTAL SCAM. They use words like State Office instead of US Patent Office, or Mark instead of Trademark, and Federal Records. TOTAL SCAM!

ITS TRUE, BE WARE!!!!

Let me start off by saying, it started with them creating my logo for me. This was back in April of 2025. They made me feel as though I needed or had to have certain things for my newly started business. For example, they made it seem like I had to have a trademark for my logo and said it would be $1250 for the entire state and upwards of $6500 for international. They started early so that they could build a case for why I'd need it. Secondly, when i didn't move fast enough on the ADA requirement for my .com site, I checked my site one day and they had added a picture of a "ADA violation ad by google" on top of my site. I knew it was them, but I couldn't prove it. They knew it would get my attention and that I'd pay to get my site back up and running properly. They charged my American Express 2 times for something I didn't authorize. They lied and said I'd get a refund! I had to call my bank and get it straightened out. I still have the email from Sean (head of billing) where he says I would get a refund, and after they found out I called my bank and said I wouldn't be getting a refund and instead would send out (labels) for $521 that I already told them were too expensive. More recently, I received a text message that I was in violation of infringement and that I needed to pay $5000 to settle everything. Or that I could get into lots of legal trouble including up to prison time. So much more happened along the way. However, these are just the highlights. Then I check my bank statements and see a charge for $1030 for marketing that I didn't ask for. The charge was linked to another website, that I"d never seen before. I found out that it was (Custom Design Genius) behind another scam when speaking with Mark my web developer (who is behind the scam/scheme as well) told me that (Sean) wanted to speak to me about a dispute for $ 1030 . That's how I discovered they were behind it. They claim it was for marketing that I never ask for. Let me tell you, I believe Sean (head of billing) is the mastermind behind the schemes however, he has some enablers as well ( Joshua & Mark ). They both work alongside him as well. I will say, Mark does excellent work and comes off as nice. However, it’s all a facade. They have extremely dangerous work ethics. They all work together, and Sean has them both and maybe others, wrapped around his fingers real tight!!!! Like others have said in the review, I should have read the reviews before I started working with them, but I didn't. He gets Mark and Joshua to do their dirty work. Then when you don't comply, Sean or Joshua will try to intervene and come in for the kill. There's no other way to say it other than what it is, You can't just talk about it and make negative comments. We must take action!! THEY ARE PROFESSIONAL SCAMMERS!! They must be stopped by any means!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Logo design package

I placed a package order for a logo design and cards, working with Gary. After the final design was approved, weeks went by without my product being delivered, when I contacted them Gary again tried to upsell me and then passed me off to someone Alex. When I finally received m cards they were not the final design and were missing my name and phone number, and the print is dull and blurry. So again I contacted them, and they tried to get another $150 from me to pay for the cards, admitting it was their error! I refused and they said I need to pay something for the reprint. I contacted my CC company to dispute the $150 charge they told me was for the cards. Then I went to Vistaprint, and ordered better cards for a portion of the price. Then weeks later I get a new batch of cards sent to me, same crappy quality but my name and phone were on them, so I ultimately had to pay the charge. The quality of the product is crap, much like heir customer service!

One of the many emails .....

Dear Maureen,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused with the business cards not matching the approved design and for the printing quality issue.

To correct this and proceed with a reprint and reshipment, the cost will be $150. This will cover the production and dispatch of the corrected cards with the proper layout and legible font.

Please confirm if you'd like us to move forward with this so we can begin the reprint and initiate shipping immediately.

We appreciate your patience and look forward to resolving this promptly.

I am now being Scammed/Extorted after paying $35 for…

I am being SCAMMED after paying $35 for a simple logo a year ago. Here is an email in Sept 2025 trying to extort me:

At the time of delivering your project, we submitted your logo and business name for federal examination as part of the standard compliance process for intellectual property protection. This was done to ensure you held exclusive rights to your brand and to prevent any unauthorized use in the future.
However, the $999.00 payment associated with this process — which you previously agreed to — was later disputed from your side after the funds had been received. This dispute is on record and, combined with the pending federal file, places this matter in a legally sensitive state.
As a licensed design agency, we are obligated to respond to the federal office to either:
1. Complete the registration so your logo and business name are protected under federal law.
2. Cease the utilization of the business name and artwork so we can officially remove your name from the claimant, closing the file and ensuring there are no legal sections, tax liabilities, penalties, renewal obligations, or compliance actions in the future.
Please be aware that under U.S. trademark law, continued use of unregistered intellectual property that is under pending examination without settlement can lead to violations under:
• 15 U.S.C. § 1114 – Trademark infringement.
• 15 U.S.C. § 1125(a) – False designation of origin.
• 15 U.S.C. § 1125(c) – Dilution of a trademark.
If this matter remains unresolved, the federal authorities will recognize your name once the compliance records are updated. Without closure, the file remains active, and our evidence of your unfaithful withdrawal of the $999.00 payment further strengthens the case against you, leaving you liable for potential damages up to $75,000.00 plus legal fees.
We are willing to settle this matter amicably without escalation if you contact us immediately to complete the pending action. Failure to respond will force us to proceed with formal legal filings.
Kindly give me a call today so we can resolve this matter and avoid unnecessary consequences.
Regards,
Lucas Francis | Head of Legal affairs

SCAM ALERT

Be cautious of some of the 5-star reviews on here, especially the recent ones. I believe some are constructed by Custom Design Genius themselves. Not only are they grammatically similar, but they seem to have a pattern of saying "the pricing is upfront with no hidden costs/charges." As if they're trying to discredit the real reviews that mention their unexpected charges and negative experiences. Do a Google search for more REAL reviews. Custom Design Genius is only good at one thing...Deception. I had a horrible experience with these people and paid for a package for a simple logo design. Only for them later to come back and say I can't own the logo and MY business name until I pay them an additional $1800!! Nowhere on their website does it mention that there will be an additional cost to get this service done! Not disclosing all the costs=bad business. My story goes on, but the point is I fell for their scam. Go to a real business if you want to get your logo done. Keep your distance from these people!!

SCAMMERS

**PLEASE READ**

In January 2025, I sought out Custom Design Genius to design a logo for my business, and paid $119 for a logo package. They made a basic logo that didn't stand out at all. Days after that, they convinced me into paying an additional $750 for what they called “statewide coverage.” I should have recognize that as the first red flag — so I take full responsibility for that portion by not walking away sooner.

After paying the $750, they gave me what looked like a copyright certificate, claiming it gave me ownership of the logo. At first, I thought it was legitimate, until I did my own research. There’s no copyright registration number, and no affiliation with the U.S. Copyright Office. Multiple sources confirmed that this is a fake certificate, created to look official but has no legal value whatsoever. Just another layer of their scam.

A few days after paying the state coverage, they tried to sell me on nationwide coverage for another $550. I explicitly refused. They took the money anyway, without consent. When I demanded a refund, they strung me along with false promises of a refund for a couple of weeks. I finally had enough and filed a claim

Then in April, I received a text message from someone claiming to be an attorney with a California number, threatening me with a $250,000 lawsuit because I'm illegally using the logo. That same day, I got an email from Sean Anderson, an unprofessional, condescending “representative” of Custom Design Genius, telling me that unless I paid $5,000, I wouldn’t legally own my logo or business name (even though I was the one who created my business name), and he can't protect me if a lawsuit was to occur. When I told him I refuse to pay, he laughed at me and said, “You should’ve known this would be an expensive process.”

Less than 24 hours after that conversation, they stole $5,000 from my account, despite me saying I will not do any more business with them. Sean followed up with an email saying this was done as a favor. And told me that my logo and business name had been registered with the USPTO — another lie. I checked the USPTO database, and there is no pending application or registration under my name, logo, or business.

I made sure to keep records of everything, from emails, text messages, and screen shots from their website. After months of stress, my bank finally ruled in my favor, and I recovered the full $5,550 Custom Design Genius stole from me. And I found someone on Fiverr to create a new logo. As of 8/4/2025 Custom Design Genius continues to harass me with emails threatening lawsuits unless I pay back the $5000 or stop using the business name and logo. Custom Design Genius is not a real agency, they are a den of thieves that weaponizes fear, false documents, and unauthorized charges to exploit small business owners. Their pricing is deceptive, and their practices are unethical. AVIOD THEM AT ALL COST!!
