Great expierence. Emanuel organized everything well starting from the airport taxi, the accomodations, the cultural expierence, meals and the safari. We saw a lot of animals from cheetah, leopard, lion, antilopes, giraffs, buffalos and many more. The guide Frank has great knowledge about all animals and knows the national parks really good. We always had enough water and saw a lot of the beautiful land. A great trip which I can recommend.

Ich hatte das Glück, an einer vier Tage dauernden Safari teilzunehmen, die sich als absolut atemberaubend und unvergesslich erwies. Diese Safari war ein unvergessliches Abenteuer, das alle meine Erwartungen bei Weitem übertroffen hat.

Unsere Reise begann mit einer herzlichen Begrüßung vom Safari-Team. Der Guide war äußerst kenntnisreich und teilte interessante Informationen über die Tierwelt und die Umgebung. Die Unterkunft war komfortabel, und das Abendessen war köstlich.

Generell haben wir die faszinierende Tierwelt in ihrer natürlichen Umgebung beobachtet. Wir hatten das Glück, Elefanten, Löwen, Giraffen und viele andere Tiere hautnah zu erleben. Die Safari-Fahrzeuge waren perfekt für Tierbeobachtungen ausgestattet.

We enjoyed every single moment. The tour was very well organized and we never faced any problems. The communication with Emanuel was working without any problem and we could relax and enjoy the safari. We can recommend this tour!

I had an amazing experience with Crater Tours. Despite being a small company without their own 4x4s, Emanuel's coordination with different drivers ensured a seamless safari to Tangarire, Lake Manyara, and Ngorongoro. His proactive approach to trip planning made it a top-notch adventure. I would definitely book with them again!

What an incredible trip! We saw all that we had hoped to and more. The trip was well organised and when the Jeep broke down a replacement was quickly sorted. The food courtesy of Emmanuel 'the stomach engineer' was amazing. David and David, our two drivers, were both knowledgeable and gave us some remarkable animal encounters as well as driving safely on tricky roads. A wonderful experience.

Tour team members' team-work was stunning!
All prepared on schedule, well operated.
We could see a lot of wild animals more than expacted.

So very thankful for the characters and hospitality of our driver and chef. Pascel (our driver) was so knowledgeable and shared much with us. He treated us to an amazing game drive experience and his eyes for spotting wildlife was uncanny! Our chef Emmanuel (different from organizer) treated us like royalty and definitely knows how to cook. He surprised me from the minute he pulled out our first lunch. And oh that smile😁

Based on the good reviews we decided for this operator and a group safari over three days with Serengeti and ngorogoro crater. We chose the luxurious option and it was totally worth it. At night it was cold and a tent was not enough for us.

The Serengeti has a lot of animals and you can see almost the complete big 5 on the first day. Our driver Emanuel knew the best places and drove quickly and safely. In addition, he was able to explain a lot about the animals, so that our three-day safari flew by. You always start at seven in the morning and you need a sweater then. During the day it is always warm.

After our landing in Arusha we were picked up by the operator Emanuel (yes the names are the same) and brought to the hotel. There the briefing took place and we paid directly everything in cash in dollars. In Germany, the communication went smoothly via WhatsApp.

The tented lodges are very comfortable and in ngorogoro crater we were even in a real hotel on top level with views over the crater from the room.

Lunch at the campsites was balanced, warm and delicious. From the lodges you can also take lunch boxes. In the evenings in the accommodations there were large buffets.
We could also spontaneously visit a Maasai village, which was not booked before and then cost 10 dollars. In return, we were allowed to take as many photos and videos as we wanted. In addition, one jumps with them and and can be explained by them in their huts their life.

All staff was very nice and there were no communication problems. You hear a lot about tipping and our operator said directly that they don't expect tips. However, we tipped upon departure from each lodge and upon return in Arusha. Any amount is possible. Recommended is at least $10 per safari participant per day each to the driver and cook. We tipped more because we were so satisfied. Both dollars and shillings were no problem. Euros are also possible, but the people in Tanzania have little use for them.

We were extremely satisfied with Crater Explorer, Tours and Safaris and I recommend this operator if you do not want to worry and enjoy the animals and nature.

We opted for 3 day camping safari from 14-16 November 2022.

1. All arrangements as advertised by the operator. Emmanuel organised everything perfectly.
2. Game drive was absolutely amazing! Needs to be experienced for itself.
3. Great food by Emmanuel (different from the organiser) & a good description of the overall flora/ fauna by David (driver-guide).
4. Good arrangements at the campsite.

Amazing safari! Nice and friendly tourguide and very good food. We enjoyed every part of the safari and had so much fun! Recommend it!

We stayed in marera lodge hotel for 2 nights that is really good and one night in the serengeti luxury tent lodge, inside of the park, it’s an amazing experience, totally recommend. We felt really safe..
We saw so many animals..

We booked a 5 day/4 night safari after friends recommended the trip to us.

From start to finish, Emanuel has been faultless and couldn't do enough for us. We were picked up from the airport and dropped at our hotel in Arusha that night. The next morning, we were collected from the hotel and met up with the rest of the group. The driver was friendly, welcoming and we felt at ease.

The safari itself was fabulous and we saw lots of animals which created many memories. The drivers were more than happy to stop for as long as we wanted to see the animals and they also talked on radios to each other to so that we didn't miss any opportunities.

We chose to stay in the lodges instead of camping which were all perfect and even better than we had hoped for. At one lodge in the Serengeti, there were elephants roaming around freely all night and were still there in the morning!

The meals provided (breakfast, lunch and dinner) were all delicious and the chef cooked a variety of different options. Emanuel also sorted gluten free options for myself which was a bonus and he also let all the lodges and drivers know about it so there was no risk of being unwell.

Emanuel was always at the end of the phone whenever we had questions and nothing was too much trouble for him.

He even came to our hotel on our final night to check we were happy with the safari experience - a lovely touch which not many companies would bother doing.

We wouldn't hesitate to book again with Crater Explorer if we wanted another safari experience.

This was one of the most amazing trips I’ve ever taken. As an academic wildlife researcher, I had high hopes but low expectations. CE surpassed them all. Our group saw every major mammal, and dozens of unique and beautiful birds. Emanuel was a fantastic organizer, Floridi was a wonderful guide, and Tito was a fantastic chef. 5 stars!

Everything was perfect, very confortable lodges, very wonderful guide (Floridi) and chef (Tito) and amazying places (Serengeti NP, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire NP). Emanuel was very helpful, nice and trustfull person. I would recommend Crater to all.

This was such an amazing once in a lifetime experience. I had initially contacted three safari companies and I am so lucky Emanuel was the first one to reply back to me. Everything went perfect: saw the big five, the food was excellent, and the guide extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Incredible experience! Emmanuel has been here for us from the beginning until the end. He answered to all of our requests. During the safari, everything was perfect and well organized. We have seen the big five and many others animals. The landscapes are amazing and animals have so much to offers to us. David, the guide really loves his job and he shared everything about animals with us.
Moreover, the food is really really good!! the chef cooks very well!

We did a 3 days safari in Serengeti/Ngorongoro and it was so nice. The guide was David and he was so nice, he explained us a lot of things during the safari and answered to all our questions. We saw the big 5 very close to us and a lot of animals. Emmanuel was also very nice and helpfull. I really recommend to do a safari with Carter explorer. Hope to Come back soon
