Steer clear of this dodgy mob
Purchased a new battery for a hema as the original one was over 10 years old and wouldn’t last long when not plugged in.
Installed the new battery purchased from this crowd. This “new” battery will not hold charge at all, the unit will start up and work after about 10 mins of driving but then goes flat again after the car has been turned off.
They don’t want to know about it and have made every excuse possible.
I would have been better off keeping the old better instead of this dodgy rubbish that they have supplied.
I’m now out of pocket and without a working gps!
Steer clear of this mob!

Sorry to hear you’ve run into a hurdle. As noted on the product page reviews for that item, many people use the same battery to repair their GPS modules without issues.
We offered you test scenarios that would help isolate what the issue was as we were concerned by how unique the symptoms you described were compared to others. You seem to have responded to that advice with some gutter-grade sentiment, followed by this review.
Chances are there are one or more issues with your GPS module; hence your need to change the original battery in the first place. Good luck with fault finding - you’ve at least got some isolation tips from our support team.

Terrible Customer Service with Bait & Switch Scam
BAIT & SWITCH SCAM
TERRIBLE SERIVCE
I ordered from Core Electronics and the order was placed on fraud alert. I contacted the company and asked what I can do to expedite the order as I needed it ASAP and couldn't wait 3 days for the fraud check to clear. I offered a bank transfer or Paypal to lessen their risk of fraud.
Nobody at Core Electronics customer support would help me. I then sent an email to the owner, Graham Mitchell, and he refunded the order and suggested I purchase using Paypal. By the time I received his email and went to order, the unit was out of stock. I emailed Graham and asked if he sold my unit to which he suggested I buy a more expensive unit instead. I explained that I needed that specific model. Graham never responded back.
From my point of view, Graham Mitchell, the owner of Core Electronics showed a lack of ethics by selling the unit I had lawfully purchased to another person and used this opportunity to bait and switch me to an more expensive model. He showed no interest in my urgency and did not help me complete the purchase.

We respect that you are frustrated. We disagree with your claim "Nobody at Core Electronics customer support would help me".
Several interactions were serviced on the same day by two members of our team, some well into the evening at your request. Ultimately, we refunded your order as requested by you in an earlier interaction as we were unable to meet your personal timeline for this order.
Factors for fraud were:
- USA Card (we don’t see this very often)
- Australian Address (we look for the same country for both payment and order)
- PO Box (often used for orders that are successful for fraud)
- Express Post (urgency has been a strong indication of fraud)
- Forceful emails (manipulation of workplace policies behind bogus email domains has been a strong indication for fraud, possibly the highest these days)
Normally we have at-risk payments cleared on the same business day. Though using a foreign card/bank may have presented you with time factors beyond our control or influence.
We disagree with your claim "Bait & switch scam". Your order was refunded by your request and this puts stock back into the system. We don't have a way to reserve stock for individual customers on our website.
Due to the International parts shortage, we apparently were the last retailer on Earth with stock for that product (Raspberry Pi 2GB), which introduced a unique hazard at that refund junction. More stock is not expected until 2022 Q1/Q2. We offered you an alternative that is the same form factor and power footprint (drop-in replacement).
A team member of ours offered a spare 2GB to assist you which was shared by email. Though you've appeared to have shot first and asked later, which seems fairly repeated throughout this exchange.
