Love the Events Calendar Shortcode plugin. Presentation is awesome and so functional!

I quickly realised that the PRO version was needed for the task i had in mind However, acquiring and exploiting it has exploded the scope of my ambitions and I now have multiple timelines, both date and custom-ordered, with varying designs. (BTW I am using the Metro Magazine Pro from rarathemes and have encountered no compatibility problems. The website is an academic one and has no commercial functions.)
The few holdups I have had have been mainly the result of not fully absorbing the documentation/demos and Baljit has quickly put me right on these when i have sought support. For other non-techies reading this, it was the ‘big picture’ that eluded me for some time, even while I was making solid progress on content. It took a short while to accept that a Timeline Story was actually an event (post) within a Timeline, rather than the Story being the Timeline. (I still see myself using a Timeline to tell A Story, which is made up of posts/events/chapters/… not of stories. But I can cope with the plugin usage) It took longer to understand that the plugin effectively creates a separate blog back end which surfaces on a standard Page front end - the Page which one creates for each Timeline and on which the Page is edited. So editing the Story (i.e. a Post on a Timeline) is one thing, eating the content and design of the specific Timeline is something quite separate, as is editing the generic Timeline Settings.
Specific examples of things that only slowly dawned are that the website Seach function doesn’t embrace Timeline Stories (but works well within them) and that website Categories don’t apply to Timeline Stories (a separate set have to be created.)
This is a very powerful, attractive and responsive plugin and it (and my use of it!) has produced s ‘wow’ from most visitors even though it is far from full developed. The possibility of instantly producing categories-based timelines is super-impressive (e.g. that for a particular colleague on a particular topic.) I can see it introducing a new type of online cv.
