Before purchasing I asked directly about manufacturing quality, referencing Arc'teryx Veilance as my standard. Was told in writing that Compagnon's production partner is the same facility used by Arc'teryx and Patagonia, and that craftsmanship and seam precision are "on par with the very best technical gear on the market, including Veilance." Purchased on that basis.
Out of the box: fabric with pronounced whitish wear marks throughout on a new product. Top-access zipper jams due to insufficient clearance — a function failure on day one. Poor stitching showing early signs of separation. All received products arrived creased and unevenly constructed.
When I raised this with photos, Compagnon's response was that the level of quality I expected is "typically associated with very high-end designer products under entirely different conditions and price structures."
They promised Veilance-level precision to secure the sale, delivered a poorly assembled product, then blamed the buyer for expecting exactly what they advertised.
PayPal ruled in my favor on an Item Not As Described claim.
Update — July 4, 2026: The matter has been resolved.
July 31 I bought an little backpack Gen III in green coclor, I wanted a different looking camera bag and a bag that did not have all that noisy velcro everywhere, ecxept from the inside with the dividers. It arrived yesterday monday 5. august.
I must say it is absolutely fantastic, it looks and feels amazing, my gear fits perfect inside, it feels good on my back as well, looking forward to go out on my photo excursions.
