We had the most horrible experience with coach hire! We booked 10 months in advance and were promised the best coaches to and from our wedding. What we received was frankly unsafe and embarrassing for all our our guests.

We did not have number of coaches we paid for, the buses that came were in a decommissioned state (springs in the seats were exposed/ graffiti all over the walls) and one bus ran out of petrol on the way home. One of our guests was forced to hitchhike to a petrol station, fill a jerry can, and return to refuel the bus themselves. This is completely unacceptable.

If this wasn't bad enough, drivers were observed using their phones while driving, were rude to staff, did not speak English, and completed U turns in the middle of highways. The owner of our wedding venue has also advised us that the drivers did not appear to hold valid heavy vehicle licences, which is deeply concerning.

I would not recommend this company to anyone, frankly I would stay away completely!

What you have described is very concerning, especially in relation to safety, vehicle condition and driver conduct, and it is not the level of service we expect any traveller to receive.

However, with only a first name and no booking reference, date of travel or route details, we have been unable to locate a matching booking in our system to confirm whether this journey was arranged through us or another provider.

If you have not done so already, please contact our team directly with your booking reference, travel date, pickup location and any supporting documentation (such as your confirmation email or invoice).

Once we can identify the booking, we will review the matter in detail with the relevant depot and respond to you personally with our findings.

Go direct instead

This is an aggregator/depot and you are better off going direct to the actual bus company, as I suspect you might be treated better.

Be particularly careful about the 'departing 15min after the booked time' - while our group loaded the bus within this 15min window, we were 2min late in departing and they charge a late departure fee of $120. However the bus driver refused to take the most direct route to save himself a $12 toll, and it took an additional 20min to get to our destination.

Happy to inconvenience their customers and not compensate the other way though!

Go direct to a reputable bus company in your local area instead.

We want to clarify a few points, as the information shared here does not reflect how our services or fees operate under our published Terms & Conditions.

Firstly, we do not charge a $120 fee for a 2-minute delay. Late departure charges only apply once a customer exceeds 15 minutes past the scheduled departure time, and the first applicable fee is for delays of 16–30 minutes, not for minor overruns within the grace period.

Secondly, unless a specific route is agreed in advance, the route taken is at the driver’s discretion. This includes toll roads, which are not automatically included unless explicitly stated in the booking confirmation. Travel times shown on bookings are advisory only and can be affected by traffic and operational considerations.

We take customer feedback seriously, but we are unable to locate this booking based on the information provided here.

We’re sorry this experience didn’t meet your expectations and remain open to resolving it constructively.

I would never recommend this coach hire…

I would never recommend this coach hire to anyone.
I organized for a coach to pick an elderly group for a trip to Melbourne. The coach arrived 40 minutes late which caused the group to be late for a river cruise in Melbourne. We were lucky the cruise waited for us but the cruise was cut short.
I would not recommend this service to anyone…. Very disappointed

issue was with rescheduling our route.
this took 5 phone calls and multiple emails.
when on the phone to the rep handling our booking he was EXTREMELY rude, ive never had such a disgusting tone on the other end of the phone. talking over me and using a foul dismissiveness. your team should be ashamed of themselves.

Over an hour Late on our wedding day

We hired this company for our wedding shuttle from the ceremony to the reception venue. A short trip of 5min and around 3km.
Not only did they not arrive on time but were 1hour late and the driver who was hard to communicate with didn’t understand direction when she finally got there.
Now this company is completely disputing that there driver was late. Caused our wedding to run 30min behind and caused unexpected and unnecessary stress on the day.

AVOID booking with this company

AVOID booking with this company, they will take your booking and money and send you any shabby bus they can find. I would recommend booking elsewhere, my experience with this company has been awful. BEWARE!

Arrived late, does not answer calls and won't respond to emails

Book a bus for my daughters' hens. Driver arrived late, bus parked a decent distance away and driver didn't notify to advise he arrived. We called another company last minute to ensure we had a way to the event.
Called the company to ask for a refund/part refund due to not using the service that was paid for. The company advised they won't deal with disputes over the phone (told up we are post the 30-day terms and conditions) and to email, no response to email. We made contact post the 30 days due to 7 deaths in the family and my daughter was in a car accident.

Do not book with this company.

Wedding return

Coachhire.com.au outsource to a range of other companies' depots. A rocky start, when the depot which initially accepted our job then decided to cancel.

The job, being a one-way return from a wedding late at night, was fairly undesirable, but the team made 19 phonecalls to various depots and found one willing company.

From there, despite my nerves, everything went smoothly. Driver was great and bus was comfortable. Communication via driver and Coachhire.com.au was as to be expected.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

Be wary when booking Buses for a Special Event with COACH HIRE.
Their web page is very misleading and their reviews are FAKE. Despite what they say they outsource the drivers/buses from other Bus companies. If you’re happy to take the MONEY you then must be accountable for the actions of the drivers / buses that you subcontract the work to. On the day there were a few things that went wrong which can happen from time to time. Good luck trying to speak to the Customer Service Manager refused to return phone messages.to.

Regarding capacity, the booking was confirmed for a maximum of 20 passengers, and unfortunately, the driver could not exceed this limit for safety and legal reasons. Awesome trip.
Clean bus and trailer, air con was good, driver on time (Frank) for both trips, drove safely and was very accommodating.

Booked a coach 4 months in advance to a festival which never turned up.
Couldn’t get through to them at all on the phone and on the one time we did - they were extremely rude and didn’t offer any advice or support.

DEPLORABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE/ business…

DEPLORABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE/ business module. They promise customers busses before they have secured the bus. This has left us stranded waiting for no bus to arrive. Countless calls have been hung up on or goes straight to voicemail. We have also been alerted that they have made the same issue with 30+ busses leaving countless people stranded. They have held absolutely NO accountability. I have never experienced worse customers service in my life.

Great customer service support.

The communication and customer service from Jordan has been great. He was very helpful throughout the entire process from the quote till the very end. We unfortunately had an issue with the driver leaving the venue earlier than expected, which was the only downside. However, Jordan and the team were very responsive and helpful when it came to resolving the problem. I have recommended the company to another friend.

I recently had an experience with coach…

I recently had an experience with coach hire when hiring coaches for my wedding that I feel compelled to share. I approached them for a bus rental and was later shocked at how much more they charged than other companies operating in the area. Despite my efforts, they refused to provide me with a breakdown of the additional costs when I asked for changes to the trip (something I advised them of when I originally booked the service).

They then proceeded to take my initial deposit and now try and collect a further 25% of the original amount even though I cancelled months in advanced due to their lack of transparency in the costings (which they said I have to agree to before giving me the cost breakdown).

Avoid this company if you’re looking for fair pricing and honest service. Looks like a lot of fake reviews on this site. Highly recommend finding someone else.

absoloutely shocking experience

Shocking experience. They had to swap our bus out halfway for “mechanical issues” apparently, and then claim someone threw up on the bus and hit us with a cleaning fee when no one did.

Then when I called up to discuss, the English man on the other end was the rudest person I’ve encountered over the phone, being a smart ass and talking down to me like I was a child.

My partner booked it and I called up from my number and he somehow knew the bus trip I was talking about without checking the reference number, sounds like a scam to get more money.

Never use this pathetic excuse of a company

It was an pleasant ride along the way from inquiring about our trip with your service, booking and final delivery of the buses right on schedule on the day.

The buses are clean and comfortable. The drivers are friendly throughout the trip.

We would love to use your service again in the future events where we would need buses.
