In 2024 I wrote a five star review and recently it appears the corporate offices at CNB has change their business model because they certainly are not listening to small businesses.
This is the first banking institution that I have ever banked with that processes debit in early morning hours and the processing the credits/deposits mid morning. This practice causes overdrawn transaction fees. I have written to them numerous times as to why deposits that have settled the day before are not processed until mid morning. Each time I have received a lame excuse. The for a couple of weeks the deposits post first and then it goes right back to the same routine.
This is not a business friendly way to support small business.

This bank is completely incompeten. I have an auto loan I got through the dealership and it has been the absolute worse experience of my life. I send in principal only payments by mail because they are stuck in the 1800s and can. it take principal only payments via online. Even thought I wrote PRINICIP ONLY PAYMENT on the top of the check, check mark it on the payment stub and write a note to go with it telling them it is a PRONCIPAL ONLY PAYMENT, they still apply it to an early loan payment. I have my regular loan payments on autopay so why would I send them in? I have called to get it reapplied correctly and they tell me it will be done by the end of the day and the end of the day comes and it is still showing as applied to a regular payment. I don't know how much clearer I can make this but this happens twice a month every month since I have gotten this loan. If the place you are making a big purchase says they offer financing and it is through CNB...don't take it! You will be regretting it for the life of the loan. Absolutely worse bank on the face of the planet. This is the worse run and managed bank I have ever dealt with and can't wait to get this loan paid off early and never ever deal with these incompetent people ever again.

I have been a client with Canandaigua National Bank for approximately 15 years. I went to CNB because it was a small local bank with big bank services. I was amazingly surprised by their level of Customer Service and commitment to assist small businesses. My local branch manager Gail at the Irondequoit location and Stacey the Teller Supervisor go above and beyond to assist when needed. Thank You for your level of service you make it feel like we are all family.
