They have a pool of highly qualified talent.

I recently applied to CloudDevs, which is kind of a lesser-known competitor to TopTal - a freelancing platform for devs. I thought it was a legit platform since there were positive reviews about them online, for example by customers on Reddit, or on TrustPilot -- however I was wrong.
After a strange initial video call -- that was a short series of questions that could have been filled up in a form -- they sent me an React online assessment which was pretty easy. After finishing that, I didn't hear from them for a month. Then suddently I got some emails requesting to schedule a zoom call for a "Talent follow up" by this person called Alfie.

On the day of the call, I show up, and wait, and wait, and keep waiting, and after 15 minutes have passed, I realize I was just ghosted by Alfie - without any communication from her.

I send her an email and a day later she responds saying she doesn't know what happened and would like to reschedule. I reschedule 2 days later, and yet again, I was ghosted.

Frankly I don't know what to say. I sent them an angry email and haven't heard back from them.

Not sure why they want to act this unprofessionally.

Be careful with this shady platform, they also made me upload my ID as part of their "interview process", which I regret doing.

They didn't give enough details about the position they were asking me for. They called me for a technical interview without clearly defining the points to be covered. I was asked to present a project I had been working on without asking anything in specific, as if there was no focus to the interview.

The interviewer seemed to be in a rush to end the meeting as quickly as possible and was not kind or friendly.

After the meeting, they never contacted me to give me any feedback.

The process with cloud devs was really straightforward and the opportunities presented to me made sense with what I was looking for, and they were the fastest platform in regards to finding a match for me.
I just wish that they had been a little bit more clear regarding the requirements to have a screenshot monitoring tool running on our work computer earlier in the process, but overall it has been a good experience.

It's been a an amazing experience as a freelancer. It couldn't be better. CloudDevs is effective on matching clients to developers and handling payments, so I can focus on delivering.
The clients are also great, the projects are interesting and challenging, most of them are long-term.

The vetting process could be a bit hard, especially the one with clients, but that's why they can have talented devs, quality over quantity, unlike many other platform that's too crowded so it's hard to start on projects.

I had been looking to hire a remote dev for several weeks, but needed a very particular tech stack that was hard to come by. Most platforms that had the specific talent were either from east or south asia which really wasn’t going to work for me as i’m based in the US and needed to collaborate with the talent frequently.

Since the time that I posted my original review, someone from CloudDevs has responded to this review in an attempt to discredit my claims. Whoever is reading this right now can believe what they want, but I can assure you that there is nothing baseless about my claims. They can be easily verified with your own research to corroborate the details in my review. Additionally, I had links to support those claims, but they were redacted because Trustpilot does not allow links to be included.

I challenge whoever is reading this and considering hiring CloudDevs to read the details of my review and do your own research to verify my claims.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:

This company is clearly a SCAM! Do some research on Google and you will quickly see all of the "glowing" reviews. The only problem is...they are clearly paid reviews! Here's one example:

Look at the dates of the reviews. They are all posted on the same dates and then there will be huge chunks of time in between with no reviews. The grammar is awful, plus the reviews and the names posted with the reviews are extremely generic. This isn't even a decent attempt to make the reviews look authentic. Fair warning — any company that buys their own positive reviews is shady and unethical and clearly willing to lie to their customers for their own gain.

...you will find an impressively well-written story about CloudDevs' origin and operations. As you can see, Al Caan is listed as the founder and author of the post. He is also the person that was booked on our intro call when I scheduled through their site (which I thought was strange) but nevertheless, I took a shot and was looking forward to the call.

We had a call scheduled for 3:30pm ET and I sat there for 30 minutes. No email to explain the missed meeting or anything. I emailed the guy and he writes me back with this:

First of all, thanks for being 35 minutes late for a call before you considered that maybe you should communicate with your new potential client and keep them from wasting their time. Second, look at that GRAMMAR! That is NOT the same person who wrote the article that I posted, above.

Needless to say, we didn't reschedule the call and we are avoiding this company like the plague. There are so many red flags. By the way, that Al Caan guy is listed on LinkedIn as a "Senior Consultant" for CloudDevs, not a founder. The founder & CEO for CloudDevs on LinkedIn is this guy:

Seriously, this company feels criminal and I highly recommend that you don't get lured in by the cheap prices and other perks that are listed on their site. They are selling you BS.
