Basil Ahmad was wonderful. I just arrived at Oxford with my feet hurting from old, poor fitting shoes. He recommended some excellent options and patiently helped pick the right size.

I ordered 1 item and then pressed the…

I ordered 1 item and then pressed the discount box. They sent 2 & charged me full price for 1 & discount on the other! I received them but was dissatisfied with the quality & style (not the same as the advert) I inquired how to send them back & was told either to accept a discount or I could sent them back to China to get my full refund. I had to pay for that transaction ! How is it they could give me a discount from where they are in Britain but I had to pay to sent them back to China to get my full refund?! It's a scam company & I would not recommend anyone to buy anything from them!

Tickets please

I had selected the kids school shoe I wanted to buy and headed off to Westgate. After sitting around for a while a gruff lady asked if I had a ticket. Why do I need a ticket? Are shoes being rationed? We can’t do a fitting without socks I was informed. I said I had done a measure at home but this wasn’t a good answer. We can’t do fittings without socks was the only response. Intrigued I now asked so what do i do? Should I return home or what’s the plan. No fittings without socks was the robotic response. My motivation to make a purchase long since evaporated I decided to leave despite the stock checker informing me the shoe and size I needed was close by. I felt explaining the specific shoe and size I needed would be a lengthy and awkward affair so I decided to leave. Thankfully Schuh kids next door were wonderful, friendly, helpful and attentive. Bought done. Glanced into Clark’s on the way out and saw scowling shop assistant scaring other customers despite not being busy. Good choice.

I bought my granddaughters 1st pair of…

I bought my granddaughters 1st pair of school shoes, I went to pay using a one for all voucher which clearly states it can be used in Clarks! The sales assistant said they do take them but couldn't put it through so told me they sometimes do but couldn't today! I bought the shoes anyway but made a complaint using the online complaints procedure but have never had a reply back

Denise Manager - Awful

Customer service today was APPALLING DENISE (Manager!) WESTGATE SHOPPING CENTRE OXFORD.

I purchase a pair of lovely sandals a few weeks ago, only to find they squeaked with every step. I reported to my local Clarks, who advised that this has been reported often, but that I would need to go back to Westgate Store in Oxford Centre (as they were a franchise).

Entering the store in Clarks Westgate, I first encountered an assistant that questioned me like I had stolen the sandals (that were in a box, in my bag that he saw me enter the shop with!). He then called Denise (THE MANAGER) so rude and dismissive (like I had just interrupted her bacon sandwich). I explained fault with sandals and also wha my local Clarks had stated. She disagreed and made out like I got the advice from Bob the balloon guy down the street. She made out as though I had made it up. I ignored her rudeness and gave her my invoice/receipt (as was delivered to my house) and offered to give her the details of the shop and person i spoke in Clarks in my area, (who had told me it was a manufacturing fault as many had reported the same thing) and also offered to put sandals back on so she could hear the squeak.
She bluntly said No and replied, 'well! what do you want to do then?' abruptly. I asked if she could re-order them, she looked it up and there were none available anywhere and without any further discussion or communication, said she had refunded the money and walked off!! A part of me wonders if both team members would have treated me differently if I looked like them.

Just to confirm, the sandals were lovely - but squeaked, the original guy who I purchased them from a few weeks before was lovely. BUT Denise, you have not represented Clarks well at all. I was disgusted by your manner and if this is because of what I am certain it is, then I suggest you get yourself together and understand that those days have long passed and we live in a multi-cultural society and it is a beautiful thing! Very disappointed!!

Managers should assist when the store is busy

My experience instore was that the service was slow due to the store being busy and I noticed that the managers were not assisting on the floor. Furthermore the sales assistant said that the shoes I was purchasing were leather and they clearly are not.
I do however love the design and comfort of the shoe.

Great customer service

Amazing customer service!!!

Went instore today to the new Clarks in westgate Oxford and I have to mention the store was immaculate and spacious for us buggy users! We were greeted by the amazing Morgan who was so very friendly and helpful. We had issues finding shoes that fit my nearly 2 year old and have tried many shoe shops with no luck. Morgan came to the rescue when she measured our daughters feet and found 2 lovely pairs of shoes that we ofcourse had to purchase! My daughter is very young and very shy but Morgan worked with her in a wonderful way she has such a calm manner and is soft spoken and just made the whole experience great for us we will be returning again and again as our daughters feet grow! Thank you Morgan & Clarks
