Where have the experienced fitters gone?
Went in to the carlisle store yesterday to buy my 2 sons new school shoes. The first server was more concerned about her shift finishing in 15 minutes than actually getting us the shoes my son wanted. She brought a different pair out (in a size 10,when he measured 10.5) then said she would go and check again for the ones we asked for as she hadn't bothered checking all the shelves. Still said they didn't have his size. Swapped to a different server as her shift had finished. She was more helpful and checked on her tablet which styles they had in stock for both my boys sizes. Shock, they had the ones we wanted, in the size we wanted, the first girl just couldn't be bothered looking. Still not convinced we ended up with the right sizes. We have trusted Clarks since my boys started walking but have no lost all faith in them. Why put young inexperienced staff on school shoe fitting and the more experienced staff are helping adults? The only reason I will go because is because of the quality of the shoes.

Indifferent Manageress
I called into the store to purchase a gift card, which I have done on several occasions. New baby, towards first pair of shoes. A new system is now in place, using a laptop now. The shop assistant was unsure of the new system and called a college but was also unsure of the new system. The manageress was consulted, who was having a conversation with what I could tell was a friend, not a customer. The assistants tried their best to navigate the new system but still with out success, once again having to consult with the manageress. At this point the Manageress eventually came to the till area under duress and obviously annoyed that she had been disturbed by her private conversation. She never once acknowledged myself and I found her very rude. The assistants were most helpful of which I could not say the same of the mangeress.
