Amazing customer service

Highly recommend bridal shopping with Phee!!

I recently visited Catherine Deane at the Aisle Edit store near Manchester and had a great experience. My first appointment was in May with my wedding in July and this was the first store I had visited. Phee was fantastic, she understood our vibe, was relaxed, reassuring and most importantly genuine! She instantly knew my style and was honest about what didn’t suit me as much. I highly recommend Catherine Deane with Phee as your first (and final) stop for bridal shopping!

Amazing experience with Zun

I had amazing experience with Zun at Catherine Deane, Zun was so helpful, friendly and knew exactly what dresses and outfits would suit me. She asked all the right questions and was very genuine. The dresses and outfits are Catherine Dean are stunning and very good quality, and I happy to say I said yes to the dress ❤️

Zun was fantastic

Zun was fantastic, she understood my body and provided me with looks to compliment my body. An amazing bridal stylist and I couldn’t recommend more. My experience wouldn’t have been the same without her.

Zun was such an amazing, capable and friendly bridal stylist. I came here as a maid of honour for my best friend and honestly what an asset to the team Zun is. She was accommodating and supportive and really helped make difficult decisions easier!

See the review about being scare mongered into purchasing due to ‘lack of stock’ in store. In store might be the case but please look on line. DO NOT believe what you are told by Yun. She wants her commission.
Buy in store and you sign all rights away to a refund straight away (red flag signing a doc too) you have fewer legal rights buying in store than on line. You can not change your mind under any circumstance.

Check on line and maybe purchase there to have more return rights. My experience, I wouldn’t touch this company with a barge pole, on line or or in store.

I was lucky enough to get a refund as paid on AMEX and literally raised a dispute within an hour of leaving the shop (after seeing stock avail on line and knowing I was pressurised into purchasing.). I wouldn’t recommend this process as I think I got lucky on this occasion.
If you need alterations or a different size RUN!
If you find something that is perfect, I think you’ll be ok - their items are very pretty, you can’t take that from them. Everything else is awful in terms of customer care and them acting lawfully (their on line returns policy is unlawful - you get 30 days, not the 14 they state. Also they stare sake items have a return period - again, unlawful.
I’d you can be bothered to navigate their deceit then you deserve each other!

**PLEASE BEWARE OF THEIR POLICIES AND DO NOT BUY IN SHOP**

TLDR: the in-shop sales assistants will push you into buying through them due to 'low stock', even though there is plenty of stock online. This makes your purchase non-refundable and non-exchangeable, whereas you can exchange or refund if purchased online. If you review other platforms you will see this is common practice. They also did the exact same thing to 2 of my friends. I went to 3 different tailors and they all said brides consistently have a horrible experience with them so please beware. My trousers were damaged and I was offered £30 for £700 trousers that need another £200-500 getting fixed.

I am writing this review in the hope of other brides avoiding pre-wedding stress from what is supposed to be one of the most beautiful experiences of your life.

Catherine Deane was recommended to me by a friend who purchased her wedding dress here. I found trousers I liked, but they had them in 2 sizes too big so I wasn't 100% convinced on them. The store manager kept pushing me to purchase them through her as they were "out of stock in the UK and only 1 available in my size in the US". I was reluctant as I couldn't try my own size on, but I didn't even consider there would be a reason for her to lie so in the fear of missing out, I purchased the trousers. They made me sign a paper saying the sale is final. The trousers were going to take 5 weeks to arrive.

*10 minutes after leaving the store* I checked the website and noticed the trousers are available online, in the UK, in my size. I also saw these are refundable or exchangeable if they don't fit. They would arrive in 10 days, rather than 5 weeks.

I naively thought surely the lady at the store made a mistake so as soon as I got home I sent an email with the screenshots and asked if we can please cancel my purchase as there's stock online.

The next day, the store got back to me saying the sale was final, that there is no stock online and that this was actually them "moving stock from US to UK". The trousers were available online for at least 18 hours so I find it hard to believe that to move stock you would move it from a store in the US to in stock online (available for everyone to purchase), to me.

In between my appointment and the trousers arriving, my friend decided to go to Catherine Deane for her wedding dress. They again told her there is no stock so she should order through them; having been aware of my situation, she declined. When she came home, both pieces she was interested in had over 6 items in stock online.

Fast forward to my trousers arriving and they are damaged under the waist. The lady in store tells me "not too worry, as that will be taken in by the seamstress anyway". No apology, just told me it's fine that it's damaged as I'll have to pay for a seamstress anyway and she can fix it (🤦🏼‍♀️).

I have now gone to 3 different tailors and the price to fix it would be between £300-500. On top of it all, the ladies at the store told me "not too worry, it's an easy fix, probably around £120". I wouldn't normally hold this against them but 3/3 tailors (even their recommended one) told me brides have had a negative experience with them and end up with a bill a few hundred more than expected due to the deceitful and unethical practice of the store.

Having gone through this disheartening experience, I expressed the disappointment to my friend who recommended them in the first place. Unaware, she then told me she was also told there was no stock and had subsequently purchased through them. So 3/3 of us were told there's no stock online, despite there being plenty.

I have raised every single concern with Catherine Deane and they offered me £30 for the damage on the £700 trousers that need another £200-500 getting fixed.

If you are a bride, I would urge you to reconsider coming here unless you really love one of their pieces. This experience has been so distressing and I wouldn't wish it upon anyone. Please, please, please avoid.

Their returns policy is not legal

Their returns policy is not legal, as confirmed with trading standard. They state no refunds on sale items and all items must be returned within 14 days.

Here’s what Trading Standard said:

‘It is a requirement that a consumer has 14 days to cancel a distance contract, including for sale items, then an additional 14 days to return item.
We will raise this with the business.

Shocking absolutetly shocking

Buying a wedding dress should be a pleasant experience this was quite the reverse, Item arrived in a box which was split, the dress was damaged, torn and also threads missing. I couldn't get hold of them by phone so all done by email. NO APOLOGY just acceptance thank god I found it else I would have probably been charged. The people are obnoxious rude and cold. No leeway for damaged goods, you would get better service buying a cushion cover.

Be careful when ordering online

I ordered online and the garments were beautiful and good quality but not properly packaged when they arrived (spilling out of their boxes). Catherine Deane have a strict returns policy, which I noted upon ordering, and so I was extremely careful when trying the items on. Despite this, I was refused refunds on two items where I am sure I didn't cause the very minor damage they are claiming. When discussing this with their customer services team, they were uncompromising, leaving me to pay the full price. I would advise that people avoid ordering items online.

Stay away from Catherine Deane

My experience with Catherine Deane was incredibly disappointing and frustrating. As a customer, I expected a certain level of professionalism, quality, and customer service, all of which were woefully lacking during my interactions with this bridal wear brand.

Firstly, when I visited the showroom, I felt pressured by the Store manager to make a purchase, as she told me that there was a shortage of stock in my size, and that I would risk missing out if I didn't make a purchase. That evening after the purchase, I checked online and saw there were still 6 items left in stock! The information the Store Manager provided was false and misled me into making a purchase in store with far more restrictive terms than online.

Furthermore, the delivery process was an absolute nightmare. The order confirmation provided no information on the delivery timeline, so after 4 weeks, I reached out to customer service to ask for a status, only to be told that the store receives delivery from Hong Kong every week, so once they receive the item then I will be notified. There was zero communication on the timeline again, and my item ultimately took a total of 6.5 weeks to arrive. Mind you, this was not made to measure, it was a standard size. This delay caused undue stress and anxiety, and the lack of communication and updates regarding the delivery process only added to my frustration and disappointment.

To make matters worse, when the item finally arrived, it was in a faulty condition. There were protruding loose threads, missing beads, and inoperable clasp. It was evident that no quality control measures were taken before sending this item to me. I cannot express how disheartening and distressing it was to receive a faulty product, especially considering the importance of the item to a bride's special day.

Despite my immediate contact with customer service regarding the faulty item, the response I received was nothing short of unhelpful. The representative showed a complete lack of empathy and urgency in resolving the issue, telling me to take the item to a tailor to get it fixed. Instead of offering a swift solution or apology, I was met with indifference and was even accused of causing the damage myself while trying on the item. When I questioned the overall quality of the item and asked for a refund based on receiving a faulty item, I was met with blatant refusal and disregard for consumer protection laws, and instead was given a replacement, as if they were doing me a favour. This dismissive attitude is not only unprofessional but also reflects a complete disregard for customer satisfaction, and again adding to the stress during an already stressful time.

Finally, when I asked to raise these issues with management, I was only given the option of speaking with the initial Store Manager, who dismissed my concerns by consistently referring to the strict in-store purchasing policy while refusing to acknowledge the false information provided in the showroom, as well as the faulty item delivered.

In light of these numerous issues, I would highly recommend going to other bridal shops and avoiding Catherine Deane. While their marketing team does a good job of making them appear as caring, my experience was so distressing that I would not want any other bride to be from experiencing this same ordeal.
