Vehicle returned within days of collection
On 10 February 2026 I visited Car Pod Group by appointment to view and test drive a white Kia Venga. No issues were noticed and I paid a £790 deposit after being told the price was not negotiable.
I was offered a £299 extended warranty upgrade from 3 months to 12 months. A leaflet was shown and I was told listed parts would be covered and paid by the warranty company. I verbally agreed.
On 11 February 2026 I returned to complete purchase. I was first asked to pay the remaining balance together with the warranty fee. I then signed the warranty agreement and only afterwards received the warranty terms and vehicle documents.
After approximately 1.5 hours of driving home, a cloud-like white mark appeared on the navigation screen. The vehicle was parked and not used further. I reported this by email that evening and requested cancellation of the warranty after reading the terms.
On 12 February I was told the warranty could be refunded but the car should be brought back for inspection. I requested a full return instead.
On 13 February Car Pod Group confirmed the vehicle could be returned and wrote:
“The ‘issue’ you have has not rendered the car unusable… we are only refunding you out of goodwill.”
On 14 February I drove the car back. During motorway driving the screen mark appeared again and was larger. I photographed it and returned the vehicle. The refund was processed to my debit card and no additional documents were signed.
This is a factual account of the events.
