I was disappointed that I booked a medium size car, a Ford Mondeo or similar and got a Honda Civic.
The car had an annoying and concerning rumble when driving it so the car had not been checked properly prior to us getting it.
I will not use them again, I was surprised after the rental to check on Carhood and find they use other peoples cars, and that they offer "roadside assistance" for an additional daily fee. Thats not was renting a car is about.

Still waiting for payment, it has been about 3 months no payment made and i have sent about 4 emails about it

Works well and we’re ahead!
This is the third time we have used CARHOOD.
Each time the system has worked with the occasional hiccups but things appear to be improving. Payment for June rental has just come through in full. Airport drop-off and pick-up in Melbourne is better with the company vehicle. The Uber service whilst quicker was problematic at times.
Let’s hope the accounting glitches are over and we get the September rental return in October.
Keep improving!

Still waiting on payment from July holidays, despite numerous calls. They tell me that the business is now under official audit and all payments are on hold. Save yourself the headache.

Great experience using carhood in Brisbane. Started off with a comedy of errors at the switchboard talking to two different people called Brendan, one call directed to Melbourne the second redirected to the Brisbane office. Both answered by different people sharing the same name. ( second call )" Hello is that Brendan ?" " Yeees..." "Are you picking us up ? " " okkay..? "
Because of my familiarity Brisbane Brendan confused me with a previous client and the fun continued. Under normal circumstances this could have been frustrating ,especially at 10 PM however our in-the- flesh Brian was so charming and efficient we left Brisbane in our extremely cool Suzuki Sport with a smile on our faces and light hearts. The return was in the same vein, with Mark at Brisbane cheerfully getting us to the airport within ten minutes of dropping off the car. After sitting in departures I realised I had left my glasses in the car and Mark at the call centre in Melbourne rang up ... yes Mark in Brisbane to post out my glasses to NZ for me. A final note was my deposit was refunded to me before I boarded my flight home. We love Australia, we love the people and we love carhood.

All was fine until my car broke down on…
All was fine until my car broke down on a rental. Read the small print as I had to pay over $300 for the recovery of my car. I was unaware that Carhood does not have a breakdown recovery policy in place. If I had known this I would have not had any dealings with them.

A forgettable experience.
The car given to us was in such a bad condition that all it's nuts and bolts were counting down to come apart. The steering wheel used to vibrate like a washing machine spinning the clothes dry.
As soon as I took the car out of the warehouse, I realised it is not safe and returned to exchange the car. The exchanged car was acceptable but soon we figured out that there were cockroaches inside it as well. I wrote a couple of emails to complain but no one took notice. Not something I could recommend...

I booked a SUV and was meant to pick up at Sydney. However the system admin sent me an email 2 days before I arrive there and told me that my vehicle was not available and no replacement vehicle for me !!!!!
And up until now i still haven’t got my refund. Disappointed !

I booked an SUV, but when I arrived airport (10pm) they told me the SUV just broke down and refer me to another old SUV. I have no choice but to drive it.

This is feedback that we have already given back to Carhood on many occasions, through many emails, phonecalls, and direct contact with Sydney operations staff: We just want to be paid.
Your payment process is not what you claim.
You need to 'up your game'
It is 'up the creek'
'It sucks'
How many ways can we express it??
We hope this feedback goes all the way to CEO Steve Johnson.
Sir, you definitely need to fix your payment system. You definitely need to pay us and all other owners ASAP.
As for Sydney operations staff, they are very good (5star). They do not deserve to constantly have to face the anger and frustrations from car owners.

This is a very easy arrangement to have free parking near the airport, transport to the airport and to earn dollars if the car is rented. The support staff are very friendly and helpful.

Carhood was all good
Carhood was all good, I pre-booked a rental car of my choice, picked up on the day, car was spotless, in great condition and the rental terms (I was driving over a 1000Km) were very fair. Turn around on site was fast on my pickup and dropoff, no time wasted waiting. I even had a zero excess policy!
I will use again. Thanks.

Easy process
Easy process. Drop car off, get ride to airport. Land, get ride to car, drive home.
Customer service is usually very good. Emails are responded to, and followed up quite promptly. Payment is often a bit longer than 30 days, but again after contacting customer service has always been prompt.

Impossible to get paid.
Don't give them your car - you might get free airport parking but nothing else! its been more than 2 month I am still waiting for them to process my payment. its ridiculous,I tried calling at least 20 times already - not once telephone gets picked up.. you can only leave a message but you won't get a call back. emailed support three times - still no answer for a month. Sending legal notice of demand within 7 days.

I have used car rental companies in Brisbane on many occasions but since carhood is recommended on Singapore airlines website we thought we can give it a try.
Picking up car was not at the airport . Had to use international call to reach carhood and that cost us international call charges. Though car provided to us was not the same as what was booked which is ok to us but we do not expect to receive a car which is almost going to scrap yard. Inside front and back windscreen was so dirty. Outside the paintwork was so bad and dented at some area.
When driving the steering tends to pull left all the time. It is so dangerous when driving along the highway especially at 110kph This problem should be addressed before renting out the car so that it is road worthiness .
It's the worst car renting experience I ever encountered......👎👎👎
I strongly encourage Singapore airlines to review their co operation with carhood.

Have booked a car while I was abroad, been contacting them even before my arrival at the airport. Promised pick up was not happening and called the office in Sydney addressing the problem. Company agreed on reimbursing my taxi ride to go the the actual office in Melbourne, and office was closed, no one was there, no sign of car got ready to be picked up. customer representative had told me, it is none of his problem just avoiding the responsibility.
I still haven't got the reimbursement of my taxi ride which was about $100. I had no apology or any kind of explanation. I booked it via Rentalcars.com and had to call them overseas to get this sorted, ended up booking another car with Alamo.
If you are considering getting a car with this provider,
DON'T
I would never consider to get a car from this company ever.
P.s. Reply to the comment. I already did you havent got me back for so long. I even attached the screenshots of the email convo I had. I just want the reimbursement of my taxi ride as you promised over the phone. Nothing more.
