Don't CARE Credit
They were no help at all. I have been a loyal customer for over 10+ years and have always made my payment on time, last month was the first one that I have ever missed and it was a bank error. I made a payment as soon as I saw it didn't go through, I made a payment for more then what was requested. After being a loyal customer you guys take my credit limit down from having 7000$ all the way to $600?? They don't treat their loyal customers great at all. I had a fertility appointment to try to have a baby this week and that cannot be accomplished now because of the hold they put on the card for 1 missed payment and because they took my credit limit all the way down to $600 when I thought I had more. They said they let me know via email but never sent any physical letter to let me know this?? I never got the email, it probably went to spam. It took me 6 months to get that appointment and now I have to cancel it with a penalty charge of $150. you guys are terrible!!

This company ruined my credit score by cancelling my card due to inactivity. They did not notify me that they would close it or were going to close it due to inactivity they just closed it! They did nothing to rectify the damage the did to my score, they just offered me a new application, that would be based of my new score, lol. I will never do business with a corporation with no regard to the customer and ethics! So I won't be using Synchrony Bank credit cards anymore and I will definitely never apply for a Care Credit card ever again.
This company rips you off
This company rips you off. If you pay off your balance, you still have to pay 2 more payments to be done. Crazy! They won’t credit you that last interest either. 2 payments of interest after you pay off the balance?! So it goes like this I was told. You pay off your balance, then the next month the interest that accrued you will get a bill for and you have to then pay that balance off. But wait! You’re not done yet! You then have to call them at the first day of the next billing cycle so you can again pay the interest of that interest! They won’t let you pay it off! They won’t prorate it, they want to rip you off. And that’s what they do. Don’t get an account with this company unless you enjoy being ripped off, again and again. Crazy rip off crooks!

Five years later they get a one due no courtesy information before closing my account. Was an issue with our bank not paying them through wife’s account. So instead of e-mailing or phone call or text they closed the account. Thanks care Credit for not letting me know there was an issue. By the way you have been paid through my Bank Account as of this morning and I’ll keep a check to see if the last payment from my wife’s account goes through , if not I’ll pay you through mine. Sad!!!!!!!!
This is a horrible company
This is a horrible company. I got a card with a certain limit to cover dental expenses. I had all my upper teeth ripped out and I paid for the extraction. Then CareCredit took away all my available balance. I had no teeth and no way to purchase the denture. CareCredit couldn’t give me a reason why. My credit score went up! Absolutely evil to take away someone’s credit in the middle of medical procedures.
Liars: Fees and Robin-worst customer service representative
Robin, a female representative for care credit, on a recorded line said they were going to waive the $20.13 interest fees they charged me 7 days after paying off the full $2545.67 balance. Then said “once you pay you can call back in 24 hours for the $0 balance statement”. I challenged the statement as she had just told me she was gonna waive the fee so when should I expect the account to say zero like it was when I paid off the full amount. That’s when she changed her story again on a recorded line and said that the charge was valid and therefore they were not gonna waive it. She spoke with a “supervisor” then stated she was going to waive the fees, And then changed her story. Now I know it’s only $20.13 but my argument is the principle. I’ve had creditors like American Express, Capital One, and Chase bank waive fees after payoffs because the benefit of them getting all their money and having a happy customer is not worth the $20.13. However, in the eyes of synchrony bank and CareCredit, they don’t care about their customer satisfaction. They only care about taking your money because that suits them so I urge you to not fall into the same gimmick that I did. I am completely unhappy with the customer service of Robin and completely unhappy with this company’s inability to help their customers for satisfaction it seems all they care about is bleeding their customers dry for every cent they can with “fees” following payoff. Clearly $2545.67 was not enough money for them, they greedily want more. This company is crooked and I highly encourage everyone to stay away if you don’t people like Robin will take you for every cent you have/that they can get away with.

This financial institution is HORRIBLE. They just randomly do credit reviews and if anything looks not up to par they start reducing your credit limit. I will be closing my account once I pay off my last small balance and will close my account t immediately. They are horrible and I have never seen a financial institution reduce someone’s credit limit like 2-3 times in 1 year that is so ridiculous. Plus not a lot of health institutions take Care Credit. I would give them a F for customer service and business practices

Their customer service is a bad joke. I tried calling the two numbers they provide, via chat also to nil. The rep on the chat does not have access to all the info in the account, is not able to receive any files, and the only solution was to provide me with phone numbers with prompts that do not have an option to my query or when I requested an agent I ended up being disconnected. No physical address, no email, it looks very clear that they want to take the customer money without taking care of any customer claim and/or problem. Is over two months of an order I placed for a reward and so far is no show and I am not able to get an agent to take care of it.

There is no free interest. Read the contract super carefully. I got $8k loan, and according to my math i am subject to $35k interest on top of my $8k loan totaling $40-$50k. Instead of going through their tricky terms i would recommend not to even use them. Find a regular lender or credit card provider.

Oh how I wished I wouldn't have dealt with these folks ...Definitely a scam ..they take advantage of folks that need care ...this should be illegal ..you make a payment and it doesn't reflect ...you make settlement arrangements and still scammed into making more please do not deal with this company ....the their call center is in foreign lands ....just sad..
Scammer company and incompetent customer service
Scammer company and Incompetent people answering their customers service line. I was told that i was being set up to pay without interest the full amount within a period of time. I trusted what they said. But the monthly payments were lower than it should have been to pay the account within the period. They do this on purpose. The Care credit customer service said that I should have called after setting up payment plans to adjust the amount. That’s what I was setting up to begin with, why should I have to call after making the contract? I ended up paying 3 times the amount I was supposed to. Their interest rates are also predatory.
CareCredit’s Deceptive Practices and High Interest – A Warning for Consumers
My goal is to share my experience with CareCredit in hopes that others will be more informed before using this service. I’ve been using CareCredit for a while now, paying diligently on time, and even sometimes paying double the required amount to pay off my balance. I thought I was doing everything right, but recently, I noticed my balance went from $700 to 1500 in one month. After looking into this deeper I discovered I was hit with an unexpected $800 charge in accrued interest.
It turns out I missed the fine print at the end of the promotional period, and because of that, I was charged the full interest that had been accumulating for the past 24 months. Despite the fact that I’ve been working hard to pay off my balance and was only a couple of weeks past the deadline, CareCredit refused to reduce or waive the charges. They said the terms were clearly written on my statements, but it feels like this whole setup is designed to trap consumers.
I spoke to customer service and even a supervisor, and they told me there’s nothing they can do, and that I should have read the fine print more carefully. It’s incredibly frustrating because the way these promotions are structured, it’s very easy to miss small details. The lack of flexibility or willingness to help makes it feel like they are intentionally setting up customers for failure.
If you are considering using CareCredit, please be extremely cautious. It’s easy to assume you’re on top of your payments, but if you miss one little detail, you could be stuck with massive interest charges. I feel betrayed and deceived by a company that should be helping its customers, not making their lives harder.
I’m sharing this as a warning—be very careful with their promotional offers and always read the fine print thoroughly, even if you think you’re doing everything right.
Terrible Business
Absolutely terrible Customer Service and support team. I was set up with this account for LASIK surgery. Manager at location setup autopay amount in line with terms. (Or so I trusted.) Through the 2 years, my email addresses changed. However, I saw that I was still getting autopay withdrawals from my bank after the time my load should have been paid off. The account was NOT setup within the time frame, now I am responsible for paying the full interest amount. I have never missed a payment or been late on a payment. Once I caught it and called Customer Service they said there was nothing they could do.
I will NEVER recommend this company and absolutely regret trusting the medical institute that set me up with them.
"Care Credit"
For a company that named itself "Care Credit," they sure know how to show it. Let's wait until you're three days late to remind you... by the way, we will hit you with a $30 late fee the day it's due, with no reminder beforehand. Once my debt is paid off, I'm closing this account. People in need, beware, they will take advantage of you.
Should be considered a scam
This credit card and company should be considered a scam. They began charging me 32.99% interest from the date of posting any single charge, and even though I paid the entire balance each and every month. When I finally caught it and complained it was ‘sorry, thats what you agreed to’. But I didn’t nor ever would. These guys are dishonest. Don’t use Carecredit, they only want your money.
Refused to open dispute on out of business company
Disputed charges as you would with any card company. I disputed them 3 times 6-9 months ago because the provider (byte.com) never sent anything but I was charged $2399. Byte would never respond or just blow me off. I sent everything to care credit/synchrony in the disputes. Synchrony/care credit denied my disputes and still held me liable. I hired an attorney as many of us did. Byte has now been ordered to cease and desist effective 12/01/24. I was told by my attorney to continue to pay as agreed and dispute with care credit/synchrony again and if needed they can be added to the suit. I did the dispute, just now. I was given a fake number to fax my proof to. The number eight eight eight two two two three three three three goes to a big truck dealer. I asked for my dispute number like I was given the other 3 times. I was told there is no dispute number this time. They hung up and I called back. The next agent saw no record of my previous dispute. Synchrony/care credit won't even allow you open a dispute now. Their agents will tell you a dispute is open but they will not provide any proof that you did. Scammy all the way through.
