I could not compare all competitors…
I could not compare all competitors without inputting data for each Insurance company separately and receiving individual quote. It was time consuming. Furthermore, Youi quoted $5562, Real Insurance quoted $2560 and Budget $1970. What a big spread. No point using this Canstar tool, instead better to go with Budget Direct next time, who is pretty competitive over the years. Hence I did not check quotes from Allianz and QBE.
But I just was told by Canstar that due to specific requirements each insurer has their own form requirement before a quote can be obtained. Canstar provides the links for easy access.

Canstar ratings undermined by incorrect data
Canstar has a lot of potential as a summary of comparison data but this is undermined when the data is out of date or different from the actual supplier’s website. For example, I wanted comparison electricity plans and when I found my preferred one from Canstar I went to the supplier site only to find that the tariff rates were higher than reported by Canstar. This meant the relative ratings Canstar reported for a range of providers were not useful in making purchasing decisions.
Update: After considering Canstar Team’s reply I concede their point about time of use tariff, which I am on. When I added solar PV I was led to understand that time of use tariff was my only option.
When requesting Canstar’s best plans for my postcode they did list single rate plans. When I go to the retail provider website, they only offer the plans that match my meter setting. This explains the mismatch between Canstar and retailer plans in my case.
What I since learned is that a request can be made to the distributor for a single rate tariff to be reapplied. We will see if they allow it.
Perhaps my heading should have been “Canstar ratings don’t always show the whole picture”

I received some good information regarding the companies you use, but there are still a lot of insurance companies which did not appear in your seaches.

After leasing there Abbotsford location…
After leasing there Abbotsford location from me for 8.5 years , Canstar moved out without notice , bounced their April 1 rent cheque , and avoided my calls .
They have 1.5 years left on their lease . Leaving me in a very difficult position financially.
There was no reason not to talk to me and work something out if they had difficulties.
This company has really screwed me over. Unnecessarily.
The company apparently has a few lawsuits against them .
Now , another one .
If you want a co with NO integrity.. these guys.
Shame on them

Good comparison company and customer service agents that actually help!
Chloe was wonderful in helping us find a better product for what we were paying for with our existing insurer. It was great to see all of the different insurers in front of us before speaking with Chloe on the phone.
Genuinely helpful for comparing financial products
Been using Canstar on and off for the past year or so to compare savings accounts and credit cards. The comparison tables are straightforward and easy to filter by what actually matters to you. Found my current savings account through them which has been great. The only thing I'd say is some of the filters could be a bit more granular, but overall it's a solid resource. Would recommend to anyone trying to navigate the flood of financial products out there.

Absolutely phenomenal!
Dylan was absolutely phenomenal! Especially at this time of year when comparisons are priceless when choosing a different service provider. He was professional and efficient and I can’t recommend Canstar’s customer service enough. Made a difficult task easy to understand and compare, way more effective than my paper and pencil attempt!
Better outcome all round

My interaction with Chloe was excellent
My interaction with Chloe was professional and friendly. I was looking to review options regarding my hospital health fund. Chloe researched my details and sought appropriate clarification then offered me an alternate Health fund which had several benefits of interest. I discussed this with my wife and we decided to proceed. Chloe made herself available via mobile phone or e-mail to clarify any issues we may have. Once we chose to join the new fund, Chloe was still there in the background which I appreciated as I had several points that needed clarification. Chloe responded in a timely manner with concrete answers. We have been very pleased with our dealing with Chloe. We now await the new Health fund to debit our premium. Chloe advised she is still available as we approach the final changeover. Thanks

Everything from this initial phone call was great. Dylan couldn't have been more helpful and the end result was a saving of $100+.
Unfortunately the comparison, from my end, was in relation to the post 1 April price, and the contract I have entered is for 1 month only, then the price also goes up as well.
