Absolutely brilliant experience. I rejoined after a lapse of membership having retired. When I contacted the office people were so helpful, efficient and pleasant, nothing was a problem for them I even received an email from a Caroline Berry welcoming me as a member again.
I applied for a loan and the process was very straightforward. I applied for a loan and also to rejoin on my iPhone, it was easy to do without a laptop.
It was a joy to discover that now I am a pensioner Cambrian did not write me off because I am no longer employed; as some finance providers do. I spoke to several staff during the process and unfortunately have not noted all their names, however all gave exceptional customer service. Louise Power was my point of contact after I applied for the loan she was great. Also it was reassuring to receive a call and email from Stephen to say an online bank transfer I had attempted to do had not gone through as I’d entered a digit wrong and it had been stopped. I was grateful it was stopped as potentially it could have gone to the wrong account because of my error. I highly recommend Cambrian Credit Union.

This company are advertising, any circumstances considered, I've been with them many years, over them years I've never once missed a payment back for my loan, a also had a Christmas saving account paid into monthly without fail. I applied for a new loan, after being with them for many years, it was refused, I asked the financial ombudsman to take a look at the application and why my loan had been refused, Cambrian credit then advise me that because I had been using by now pay later it I was no longer allowed to have a new loan, also because I play the lottery I wasn't allowed a loan because I had entered an ITV one competition and spent two pound that was classed as gambling they also do a hard credit search on your credit file but they state that they make decisions on each loan on merit and affordability of the loan and do not base loans on credit scores not true,it took them under 2 mins to decline my loan they had an even received by bank statements, I would like to take this chance to warn anyone who is thinking about applying for a loan from this company, if you use by now pay later or you put five pound on the lottery or you went to competitions or you don't have a perfect credit score you will be declined, this company should not be advertising as helpful to the community and fair and understanding, id not missed a single payment on my loan for many year's this company picks and chooses who they lend to and if you dare to ask why you are not allowed a new loan they become very abrupt very rude and not understanding at all I cannot believe the way they advertise themselves, I'm trying to get this company to be more transparent and to put on there website " if you use pay as you go if you play the lottery or spend 2 pound on a itv competition it's an automatic refusal and it does go on your credit score which isn't clear when you apply
The standard response you get from them is below, even tho they say it's " helping the community " it's not even worth asking for help from them as they don't listen, please everyone if your considering this credit Union please make sure you read every single word on there website,I'm not the only loyal customer they have done this too, please be aware, if anyone else has had similar experiences I would strongly advise you make others aware and let's stop the culture of just lending to people who they like and treat everyone with kindness and respect,this review will not be taken down

People have a right to know,how shocking Cambrian credit treat people, Cambrian credit response below is just for on here to make out there's trying to help over this matter,so I've contacted them as they asked,to no avail,no help no trying to make this right, just a very dismissive email,not understanding, if you have had the same treatment from this company please contact myself,I would really appreciate it,as I've seen many more comments of complaints

worst company to go with they get a kick out of refusing you a loan even though been with them for many many years. people do your research on them. disgusting

Quite complex to set up account and security is a bit old school but once mastered the app works brilliantly.

Been with the credit union for years and would recommend them. Advisors on phone always helpful if ever making an enquiry or transaction .

It has been easy to apply for and set up a new account and payments . It feels like things move a bit slowly but I vaguely remember this to have been the case when I set up accounts previously at other banks/ building societies.

I used the online banking service to transfer funds and it’s always been easy to use and very reliable, funds are always transferred quickly which is great

Ive been with the credit union for over 15 years now. Whilst you can no longer pop in every day in most branches you can still access money quickly online during working hours. Never had an issue with them. Highly recommend

Spot on, just a shame the local branch has closed and everything has gone on line, lost the human touch, but you can actually speak to a human being when you need to speak to them, great service
