Full of oil! Ordered a birthday cake for a 30th
It was slanted nearly falling out over. They said they could make us a new one but it was too late to have another one made. We took the slanted one. We hoped it would taste better but it is honestly the worst cake I’ve ever tasted. I don’t know who made it or if they were having a bad day but it tasted like a whole bottle of veg oil was put into the cake it’s very stodgy and oily. Never again ! I will be making a complaint to get my money back.

I was so disappointed after my purchase from Butterwick.
I mistakenly thought that the high price I paid for the milkshake I ordered would reflect on how tasty it would be & I couldn’t have been more wrong.
So VERY sickly sweet!!
I even asked the assistant if the milkshakes were really sweet & stated that I didn’t like anything too sweet.
I put the milkshake straight in the bin & won’t be going back.

I've been to the Oakley Vale store a few times and I'm always impressed with the service from Lauren 😊. She's always friendly and helpful. 10 /10 for customer service.

Imagine ordering a PINK cake for your little one's birthday party to match the pink theme (it was going to be a unicorn cake) and then picking up the cake on the day of the massive party, only to find the entire cake is bright smurf BLUE. I am still finding bright blue icing stains on things. The entire aesthetic of the party was marred by this horrible blue cake. The theme was pink and rose gold. My daughter asked where's my unicorn cake.

I had emailed and mentioned the colour I was ordering. I went into the bakery twice before placing the order. I did everything and indeed above and beyond to ensure my daughters party was a success, they still messed it up and the store did nothing to try to fix it in time.

Refunding me is not really putting things right. The disappointment was not compensated for and I will not shop here again for anything.

Order a cake from here at your own risk. Another customer said they messed up her wedding cake order too.

I’ve visited the majority of their stores and have always had consistently polite and prompt service, a nice cup of coffee and a delightful doughnut or traybake.

If i could give a minus i most delfinitely would! DO NOT order a wedding cake from this bakery! I ordered one against my better judgement as the only other dealing i have had with these was so negative but my daughter insisted we order it from here. Well, apart from the fact that even though i ordered it online and did a live chat to confirm that the cake would be delivered to the venue i then received an email 2 days before the big day to say the cake would be ready to collect on the day! I rang the store and after 3 telephone calls this was then rectified to delivery to the venue. The big day arrived and to be honest the cake did look well presented. My daughter and new son in law attempted to cut the cake but it was difficult to get the knife through. The catering team took the cake out to the kitchen to slice it up ready to give to the guests but this was not to be. The event planner came to find me and asked if the bottom tier of the cake was fake?? I said no - this was in fact meant to be a vanilla cake on the bottom, chocolate middle tier and lemon top tier. She asked me to come into the kitchen where the head chef explained that he could not get a heated knife to cut through the cake. He suggested it was either frozen inside or really badly burnt! It was the most disgusting cake i have ever seen. I was so upset and we literally could not give this to any of our guests. I telephoned the bakery straight away the next day and spoke to a lady called Julia in the Kettering store. She asked me to put everything in an email and send photos and someone would come back to me soon. That was a Thursday morning and then i had to make numerous calls on the Saturday as i had received no response whatsoever! Finally i got a half hearted email apology on the following Monday with the promise of a full refund! It is now over 2 weeks since that pathetic email response and still no refund!! Its 3 weeks since the wedding so tomorrow it will be 3 whole weeks since i raised the complaint with them! I am disgusted at the lack of customer service and how they have treated us! I have raised a complaint with PayPal to see if they can resolve this! PLEASE AVOID

Popped in for my first ever visit to one of your butterwick stores the other day and what a lovely experience I had! The store manager Annaliese helped me and was so patient with my endless questions regarding allergens in any of the cakes and drinks. Once I'd finally chosen what I wanted she was so friendly and bubbly when serving me, she never rushed me once. I will for sure be returning here, not only was the service 10/10 the cake I had was gorgeous!

LOVE LOVE LOVE. I have been driving to Wellingborough to treat myself, buzzing that a Northampton store has finally been opened :))

Amazing food, lovely staff, 100% recommend.

Stunning bakery, the baked goods are out of this world.
The coffee is equally as stunning, best I have ever had.
Amazing friendly staff.
Highly recommended!
