Training booked months in advance - cancelled

Certainly worst experience I ever had with training provider! They just cancelled my training booked months in advance, whereby my entire professsional engagement depended on that certifcate, offering alternative 4 month later!!! More than disappointing!!! The most expensive that provides worst service! I would not recommend this company to anyone, I would not have chosen them if my circumstances were different. Do not go for this provider!!!

Après avoir signé un devis pour une…

Après avoir signé un devis pour une simple formation en e-learning et en indiquant que je suis très pressé, je suis confronté à de grandes pertes de temps, de rappels. Plus de 6 jours après, je n'ai toujours pas pu commencer et il semblerait que le simple envoi de facture soit extrêmement compliqué pour eux tout comme l'envoi du lien pour démarrer la formation. En attendant on se sent coincé, on stresse et on perd son temps du au manque de sérieux de la société. Je sais que j'élève la note moyenne qui est de 1.7 avec ma note de 2 étoiles car je suis de nature optimiste net espère avoir accès à la formation ce jour encore... Je reviendrai donner des nouvelles.

I worked for BSI for 12 years

I worked for BSI for 12 years. I left at the end of 2024. I wanted to wait a bit before reviewing just to let time reviewing them remove any leaving anger etc. Now that i've worked for a year at a small family run business I've enough comparison time to say, BSI were in hindsight still one of the worst companies i've worked for. Management were more interested in getting crayons out and drawing powerpoint presentations instead of actual focus on real beneficial training for engineers. Endless promises over the years like investment in infrastructure etc. that never came to fruition. Endlessly a different CEO makes you wonder whats this year big idea that will fail miserably.. BSI have lost loads of veterans that had the knowledge because they are no longer competitive on salaries and are expecting graduates to understand standards within 6 months.. lol. Idiots (BSI, not the grads!). I would not recommend working for BSI. Too low pay, too much stress, non-technical managers that spend most of their time playing pool in the office or crayons in pointless powerpoints.

A deeply disappointing and costly experience with BSI Training

I enrolled in BSI’s Management Systems Auditing course on 19 March 2025, which was advertised as being compliant with Exemplar Global certification requirements. This claim turned out to be false.

After investing 20–30 hours of my time completing the training and exam — and many more hours chasing emails, liaising with Exemplar Global, and managing the knock-on effects to my certification schedule — I discovered that the course did not meet Exemplar Global's recognition standards. This rendered the certificate effectively worthless for my professional needs.

The situation was made worse by:

Misleading marketing that falsely advertised Exemplar Global alignment.

Delays and poor communication from BSI in resolving the issue.

A refund process that required weeks of follow-up and stress to complete — just to recover funds for a course that should never have been sold under false pretences.

While I do appreciate that BSI eventually agreed to a refund and removed the Exemplar Global claim from their website, this does not undo the significant disruption to my career development and the wasted effort. At best, it was an example of negligent misrepresentation. At worst, it’s a serious failure of quality control from a training provider that claims to set standards globally.

I would caution anyone considering BSI as a training provider to independently verify their claims, particularly when it comes to recognised accreditations or certifications.

I would give it 0 stars, if I could. Appalling service, had to escalate to COO of Assurance services , via LinkedIn, to get any form of traction for our complaint. BSI will tell you say that putting customer experience at the forefront of their thinking but this is just lip service. We have 3 ISO accreditations with BSI and an annual spend of £15K. BSI charged us £1759 for a ISO 27001 audit preparation day and then did not use any of the information we gave, completed a completely fictitious report, took an age to even acknowledge our complaint, promised a new auditor to complete the report on 26 Feb, the auditor emailed on 14 Feb advising he was working on our report (should have been 26th Feb) and produced another fictitious audit prep report. BSI are recognising days without agreeing with the customer and were in repeated material breach of our contract. Took us two weeks of escalating just to be taken seriously. BSI needs to do better by their clients as any form of empathy, focus on quality and customer centricity is severely lacking. My experience of BSI and the low quality thresholds they hold themselves accountable to will forever be tarnished by my experiences. My plea to the SLT of BSI is that you reflect deeply on our feedback, I am sure we are not alone and you can reverse this trend with proper controls in place.

Wow what an appalling company

Wow what an appalling company. We have worked with them for over 10 years now with standards 9001 and 45001 as now is. The company may now be going bust and cant afford its bills so i called to cancel our upcoming audit. There was only a weeks notice which i get but under the circumstances i thought they would be more human. Absolutely not. Computer says no all the way

WARNING! Please DO NOT ORDER anything there!

November, 5th 2024: How can BSI actually afford to run different online shops in 2024? Which music industry management trust a abysmally bad store like this and why? Again: Why? The simplest processes are neither organized nor structured. Collecting money without delivering the ordered (and available) goods after more than 5 weeks, not sending a reasonable status, no sincere apology. Operating an underground feedback culture cannot be the support of a distributor. Maybe the BSI management should use Wikipedia to get an explanation of e-commerce. If they have previously operated the deep fryer at McDonald's, that is not the core competency to sell goods over the internet now. Every kiosk, a toilet cleaner or people at a fishing boat have more competence in addressing customers than BSI. My sincere condolences for your total incompetence. Close your unprofessional shop and look for a job that you can do well and where you won't be bothered by annoying customers.

UPDATE November 21st 2024: And another 16 days later still no delivery, no shipping confirmation, no refund. 2 months after ordering/payment of goods still available. So pathetic! Please close this shop!!!

Not what I expected

We had work done by a BSI certified company thinking that the work would be of a good standard. Wow, were we wrong!
The work was terrible and they actually caused damage.
We reluctantly gave them the opportunity to rectify things. They fixed 60% of the faults and caused yet more damage.
The worst of it is that now, no other BSI certified company will touch the job so we are stuck.
I contacted BSI and they are not interested.
Surely they don't just keep issuing certificates as long as the company keep paying the fee?

Contacted them for consultancy services…

Contacted them for consultancy services via their English (GB page). Was told to fill in a request on their German website, even though I don't speak German... However, the contact form on their German website was broken.
BTW, the forms on their GB website are blocked by Malwarebytes because they load content from a URL flagged for phishing (campsite.bio).
How could I trust a company that cannot secure (or even maintain) its own website?

Quick to take your money for courses…

Quick to take your money for courses but customer service thereafter is poor and automated. Would steer clear & use other providers as they’re simply not interested in answering any follow up queries once you’ve paid.

Incredibly poor service

Incredibly poor service. 9 days before our certificate expiry date they have suddenly informed us that they require an additional 1.5 days audit - and they only told us this because we chased up the certificate which we should have received. They're too big to care and constantly try to find ways to squeeze money out of you. If you're looking for ISO certification, use British Assessment Bureau instead.

Standards Development Manager position

I had a great experience during my time as Standards Development Manager at BSI. Specifically, the training offered, team and opportunity to participate in wider company projects was something I really appreciated.

As part of the role there is a three-month training on the job, a dedicated buddy to ask any questions or advice, further training sessions offered as part of the Standards Makers Academy on key topics, manager coaching and personal development plan for any future goals identified.

The company fosters a really supportive team environment, with colleagues always eager to answer questions and offer advice. The team has the opportunity to interact in structured team meetings to exchange ideas on ways to improve key processes (recruitment, onboarding, succession planning and appreciation), workflows, ways of working, company values and how to put them into action, new tools to be rolled out as well as during weekly check-ins.

1-1s are used productively to discuss progress on goals, any roadblocks, ask questions or advice in a supportive environment, discuss training and development opportunities, as well as receive manager updates on progress against the company's strategic objectives (e.g becoming deeply digital and partnerships-led).

Weekly and monthly information sharing meetings with the wider department are in place to talk about new products, services, new partnerships, company events and initiatives.

And finally, there are many opportunities to being involved in initiatives within the wider company such as on sustainability via the company newsletter and by attending monthly virtual live discussions on sustainability topics.

Fair to pay insurance premiums

fail to pay my insurance premiums consistently, even though the insurance brokers send over all of the requested information and they are escrowing money for it. When I or the insurance broker calls, they say they will make a payment to prevent the policy from lapsing, but dont, so I have had to make multiple payments out of pocket to prevent cancellation.

25 YEARS WITH BSI

We have held ISO 9001 (FS 40219) for nearly 25 years now via the BSI and would never ever considered changing certification bodies. Highly respected and hold a Royal Charter. We are delighted with them.

Errol Givans makes bsi work for us he is a great professional and let’s face it standards can be like dental checks you know you need standards but do you really that dentist - well Errol is awesome a true giant among giants.

I know with Errol and BSI I have nothing to worry about.

It takes practice to know how to manage a standard and practice to realise it’s driving your business forward

There are cheaper alternatives - but as always Carpe Diem - cheaper services do not mean better quality or they have your best interests at heart

VERY POOR - DO NOT USE

BSI provided a very poor service, changed the amount of audit days from the quotation. They decided to audit remotely which wasn't agreed and not due to COVID. They refused to discount even though remote auditing was cost saving from them and far worse for us. They left us in a complete mess and gave us no choice other than to seek another company to use. This cost us a contract due to the delay with our ISO's. Be warned.

Sloppy - get things wrong & harass clients

They are money focused trying to create extra work that isn't required. Their own systems have errors and despite requests to have their records corrected they harasses us and told us they were going get our organization striped of registration because we failed to hire them to do an audit we weren't required to do.
In our previous audit we were also forced to demonstrate we had a rental agreement with ourselves even though we owned the property it was a tick box on the auditors list and we would have failed the audit and lose our registration. We have since confirmed with the NDIA Commission this audtitor was wrong. It is hard to trust an auditor that makes so many mistakes.

Is this a licence to print money?

If the industry in which you run a business insist that you are compliant to certain BSI and it is mandatory to purchase a copy of regulations I don't believe I would be far from incorrect to suggest that the BSI have a licence to print money. £254 for 68 pages of black and white regulations which arrived without a folder, despicable. The front and back cover are in colour and slightly thicker paper. It is totally appreciated the work and research involved in producing these standards, however, the standards we purchase were last updated in 2010. Twelve years of posting the same unchanged 68 pages at £254....

I would like to call and make a payment…

I would like to call and make a payment but BSI charges a 25.00 fee? Also I feel disrespected when i pay on online because there is a 15 day period to pay in between, when i go to pay it tells you that you are over due,, I think that sounds terrible like we are late,,why do we have the 15 days to pay if they make you feel terrible if you pay after the 1st ?
