Sales staff basically lied to get our business missing out important information in conversations and emails . Buried in t&c were clauses that apparently justified dramatic price rises and non fulfilment of voucher back offer. AVOID

We've got an important event on tomorrow morning and because "we no longer trust brakes will deliver on time" we decided to have all items needed for our event delivered the day before. How wrong were we...?! We called 2x times to chase. The delivery turned up at 5:27pm rather then between the promised delivery slot (8am - 12noon). When the driver turned up he did not have the full delivery either. When we called the customer support a very unhelpful gentleman called Karl told us that we should have chased the delivery in the morning not at this time and that we have missed the deadline and therefore there was nothing he could do for us.... Are you actually kidding? You've delivered 5 hours after the deadline, you've not delivered all the items and you suggest this is our fault? Very very disappointing
Try getting your money back from this company. Do not give them your card details, pay cash or use someone else.
4 deliveries, every single one had missing items. one even came on two different days. I was repeatedly told i would not pay for the missing items, and would be refunded. 9 phone calls and 17 different people spoken to, and yet no refund.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
As one of the sheilding, initially was a godsend however no variation, I cant eat processed grap which the people employing them knew still got processed chicken balls which i cant eat at least four mouths out of five, no variation on cereal, mostly porridge, ridiculous, today the driver didn't even knock or leave a flyer, thanks to a neighbour who took it in .
Mouldy food delivered
Smaller quantity than ordered delivered and the full amount taken
Customer service staff rude when contacted to correct their mistake
Offered refund, it never arrived
Amount taken from card is more than the amount on the paperwork
Never using them again!
Absolute crap with capital C they are delivering food for government packages Christ knows why they gave them the contract. They missed me so many times no apologies they don't care easy to see what 88percent agree this company is dier.
I am in receipt of a weekly food parcel funded by the government. I know the government guidelines as to what should be in the box. There is a marked difference as to guidelines and what is actually received. For the last 6 weeks the tin of meat has been a tin of Fray Bentos meatballs, disgusting, no nutritional value whatsoever. Yes there is rice and pasta every week. Loose toilet rolls, really? For shielding people? They've been handled by other people, can't be used.
No variation in the basics at all. Heaps of tinned beans, and Soups. Everything obviously thrown into that box. I could go on, rotten mushy carrots that had to be binned immediately. An absolute disgrace, this company should hang their heads in shame!!!!!!!!!!
BAD BAD BAD.....CONSIDERING I AM VULNERABLE CURRENTLY HOUSEBOUND CANCER PATIENT AND CONSTANTLY HAVE TO CALL ‘CUSTOMER SERVICE’ WHO REPEATEDLY TELL ME MY GOVERNMENT FOOD PARCEL IS ON ITS WAY....THEN NOTHING ARRIVES ON 4 OCCASIONS SO MISSED 4 PARCELS DUE THEN STAFF TELL ME EXCUSES LIKE...”PARCEL WAS LEFT ON THE DOORSTEP.....DRIVER COULDN’T FIND MY ADDRESS....DRIVER COULDN’T GAIN ACCESS THROUGH GATE EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE NO GATES....DRIVER COULDN’T GAIN ENTRY TO INTERCOM DOOR....AGAIN NO INTERCOM TO MY ADDRESS.....TOLD ME ON OTHER OCCASION DRIVER DELIVERED TO WRONG ADDRESS........THIS SERVICE/COMPANY IS APPALLING AND GIVEN THESE ARE THE VULNERABLE WAITING FOR FOOD PARCELS......IF LEFT TO BRAKES PROBABLY COUNTLESS VULNERABLE AND ELDERLY NOT GETTING BASIC FOOD....ITS DISGUSTING
Absolutely no way of finding out when a delivery is turning up even though the lorry has delivered elsewhere locally! Already waited 5 hours and still nothing, called the office and told 'sometime before 2pm' I can appreciate they are busy but they need to put something in place to inform customers of at least an hours window for delivery. Routes are pre planned and lorries have trackers so I can't see why this cant be done!
Also had a issue with fresh food, i.e carrots, melon, cabbages and apples, turning up frozen! All had to be wasted because it was inedible!
Absolutely dreadful food, the government should check what they are sending out to people, how can you look forward to your weekly delivery when it’s so poor
As a person on the Government list, Brakes were supposed to be delivering food to me, started well...this week food should have arrived Tuesday , nothing arrived so phoned twice and was told on way to me....NOTHING. Wednesday, phoned again, delivery definitely out to me....NOTHING. Contacted Brakes on Facebook first thing THURSDAY, told parcel delivered (no day/date given) I’m here, 24/7....NO DELIVERY , why would staff say on its way to me? Fobbed off and now have to wait until FRIDAY . Not good enough even with Covid 19, don’t think DEFRA would be happy!
This week I tried out the new "Call & Collect" service offered by Brakes and I was really pleased with the whole process!
Collection was kept contact free and the staff at the site we're super friendly! Would definitely recommend.
AVOID THIS COMPANY. THEY LOST MY BANK DETAILS AND BLOCKED MY ACCOUNT, EVEN THOUGH WE ARE NOT IN ANY DEBT WITH THEM. THE CREDIT CONTROL STAFF WERE EXTREMELY RUDE. AVOID!!!!
Totally unreliable service.
I am running a new cafe and I got set up with Brake, they took 2 weeks, plus the website took like another week to get access to.
I placed an order last week Saturday 23rd of November 2019 and I am still waiting for my delivery I have called and they still making me wait to giving me an answer I asked to talk to a manager Rebecca I am still waiting.
Even I got promised to get the delivery yesterday 27th or today 28th of november early morning and I am still in the phone trying to sort this.
This company is time consuming, unreliable and it seems they have no interest in peoples business.
I have not received any apologies or whatsoever like is something totally normal for them.
I don't have to explain how important are suppliers for a business owner or manager needs to rely on in order to run a place and get some consistency
