All.comments are true. I'm the most recent victim. They canceled my license and said I have to spend 1k for new one. I think we all need to do a class action lawsuit against bobcad. I lost thousands of dollars because they did that. Basically told me, they can't help me.
What a ripoff!! I bought v25 a few years ago for a CNC plasma table. Worked fine for years. Doing simple cuts. It’s funny how I logged onto the internet and my version stopped working. I called tech support to get my version fixed. When you open my version it starts to open then the program stops and leaves the screen, in the upper left corner it leaves tip of the day. But program doesn’t start. Tech support says I need a code out of the program. I can’t get the code because the program will not open. He said his supervisor can bypass the code. I called his supervisor. The supervisor refused to help because my version is too old. Over a thousand dollars for this program.
What you all have just read from all these other people on this sight is true! They just "intercoursed" me also. Do yourself a favor and buy someone else's software.

Like others have said once they have your money, customer service is practically non-existent. if you need to move the software from one computer to another you're going to have to buy a new copy. Even though you buy a lifetime license, it requires a new special key code each time you install it. You have to call bobcad to get a new code.once it's a couple of years old and you need to change out a hard drive on your computer, they'll tell you that it's too old and they don't support it anymore and will not give you a new key code to open the software. You've got to purchase a new copy.
I've very frustrated with the help from the "trainer" I've been asked if I have solids prints of the parts I want to program and the company only have 2D parts and some of them don't have machinist background so I ended up writing my programs from the Haas controls, I have explain the process to some of them machining process that is, than it takes couple of weeks for them to respond and when you finally get that glorifying hour to help, well needless to say I get a squirrel , they concentrate and advised to look other people's print except for mine, most of the time we needed the parts yesterday I have to stop production for an hour and end up empty handed from the help I really need to make it even worse the company just bought V35 millturn, what makes it embarrassing is that I suggested to buy the software and now my boss wants answers and see that his almost $10K is productive, sorry bobcad there a lot to be desired, when it comes to help
I purchased a full version of this software several years ago. If you want to transfer software between computers you need to contact them and prove its being removed. This is their way of controlling the amount of seats you use.
I had a computer crash, and can no longer access my software. I have been asking for a solution to this for SEVERAL YEARS and all I get are lies, or offers to purchase a new version.
I bought and paid for this software and can not use it. I do not dislike the software, but at this point it is obvious the company does not care about my problem.
I have emails where I was promised replacement software by the company.
For these reasons, I do not recommend.
Long time customer. Was scammed for the last time. I purchased multiple seats and was told every time I upgrade, I can sell old unused seats. Well they changed that without any notification what so ever. Now every seat I have going back to V27 is no good because they made another decision to only support 3 years back on versions without any notification what so ever. now i am out of about 30,000 dollars and I am up to V32 which oddly enough is starting to act up very bad and i was just recently told they wont be supporting that after next new version. I am currently talking with an attorney which I am sure will be useless. BBB should really start an investigation into this company.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! They are crooks. They will tell you anything you want to hear to get you to buy or upgrade. Then there is zero support. I have spent more time giving them my credit card number than i have gotten back in support. Now they want you to buy the software and if yo need a "free post processor" you have to commit to a yearly service agreement. BUY SOMETHING ELSE
Stay away! This is slimiest company I've ever had to deal with in my life. Although the software is usable and okay, the salespeople will outright lie to you and anytime you need to make a change, it's going to cost $$$
I was a dealer and had to buy 10 seats at a time to get there "dealer price". They will often undersell their own dealers. They start out by asking a thousand for the software and when you say no it drops down to $600, say no it will drop to about $500, then $200.

Before you buy, call them up and tell you tell them you've got a 2-year-old copy of the software that you purchased and need to move to a new computer. See what they say.
BobCAD is CRAP! I purchased V31 followed by V32. There support is CRAP! Any question you have for them there answer is buy this and you will be up and running, or for $200 an hour we will talk support with you. Do yourself a favor and buy ANYTHING ELSE!!!
BobCAM V6 for SolidWorks Once they have your money your on your own.
I paid to upgrade from V5 to V6 because I wished to resolve the outstanding issues with V5 and to be fair some things had been fixed but new and unbelievable elementary new problems occur. An example; A simple motor mounting plate 2D Mill profile, slot pocket and a Mill Drill hole; A passable toolpath generated; Next change hole diameter, update geometry and then compute all toolpaths, surprise, surprise, the toolpath for the profile is now inverted, we are now cutting air and the pocket is Zero depth. I raised this issue with BobCAM in October 2014 …. still no resolution. V6 for SolidWorks should have been audited by SolidWorks and removed from the list of partners.
Needless to say this is not my only issue but it does illustrate the contempt they have for you once they have your money.
I bought a ShopBot 3-axis CNC router. I use the V6 addon for Solidworks. The addon is compatible with Solidworks and works just fine. However, BobCADs website said it was compatible with the ShopBot mill. Keep in mind, the only software that can operate the ShopBot mill is the ShopBot control software (according to ShopBot).
As of 25 February 2018. BobCADs V6 Solidworks addon is not fully compatible with the ShopoBot mill. Using the Planar toolpath results in the destruction of the part being milled when used with the ShopBot mill. I have been talking between ShopBot and BobCAD for months and the BobCAD Post Department swears ShopBot approved the post-processor. BobCAD refuses to contact ShopBot directly (confirmed by ShopBot) and insists I act as the middleman. I pay a yearly support fee for BobCAD to take care of their problems, and I don't have time to do it myself. However, The $300+ support fee has only allowed me to troubleshoot their software for them. I would think one would get paid to do that for them.
