I’m so glad I ‘found’ Beth Chatto, which has become almost the only nursery I buy from these days. Following Beth, I have developed a dry garden, and the plants (many of them!) I have bought from Beth Chatto have been almost universally very good (arriving well packaged) and have taken well and thrived. I buy almost all of my plants online from Beth Chatto. Sometimes the wait time for them to become available is quite long, but the alerts work well, and the wait is worthwhile. All in all, I highly recommend Beth Chatto.

First class experience from location, gardens, facilities and staff.

Beautiful, healthy plants, very securely packaged for posting. I was on a waiting list for my plants and was delighted with the whole process, from the ease of requesting the plants to receiving them.

The strong and healthy plants arrived in first class condition as they were very well packaged. I planted them out promptly and they are thriving.

Plants always arrive well packed and in excellent condition. I have bought plants before and they are all thriving.

As well as more familiar varieties Beth Chatto also grows some more unusual varieties. They provide good advice on growing conditions required and their website is such a valuable source of information. You do often have to wait for stock to become available but plants are grown ethically and peat free and carefully packaged and despatched so that they arrive safely. Maybe not always the cheapest but I like that they offer decent sized plants as I find these establish so much better - you get what you pay for. Definitely one of my ‘go to’s’ for online plants

The gardens are absolutely beautiful and so well maintained. The woodland trail and butterfly search is a great way to get kids involved.
What let in down was NOT excepting cash payments anywhere on site.
To not give the customer a choice and forced to use card was a huge no for our family.

Top quality plants, many unobtainable elsewhere, propagated on site at this beautifully run Nursery. Have been buying here for years, both personally and as a professional. Can't praise them highly enough. Website and delivery also excellent. Very helpful on the phone and efficient email notifications for out of stock items. Very good value for plants which never fail if treated properly on receipt.

Visited the lovely and inspiring gardens while on a coach holiday last year so unable to buy plants at the time. Have subsequently bought on line. Yes , a little dearer for the plants and p&p but you get what you pay for…quality that has been packaged well and I wanted a specific snowdrop that was hard to find elsewhere. Look forward to my next purchases.

Lovely garden and amazing nursery. The majority of plants for sale are propagated on site and whilst slightly more expensive since than some nurseries I have found their quality second to none

I've ordered & received plants from BC on a number of occasions over several years and their quality has always been excellent, including appropriate packaging, plant information & customer service. I've no hesitation in recommending Beth Chatto, in my experience they're first class.

The best plant website. The p & p is quite expensive but the quality of the plants is worth it.

I've ordered three lots of plants and they've been in tip top condition. The postage and packing might be more than some others, but the plants are packed very well indeed, so justifying the few extra pounds.

My second purchase from this company. As before, excellent communication regarding delivery which arrived within the 1hour time slot. Plants were in good condition and well packed.
The origanum had been pruned but I know from past experience it will soon pick up and flower. My plants that survived neglect from last autumn to this June were the ones I bought from Beth Chatto last year, the “right plant, right place “ philosophy works, and a bit of pruning is a small price to pay for plants that establish better ( pruning = stronger root system) , perform better and work with climate change.
I have learned a lot from Beth Chatto’s books as I am disabled and need a low maintenance garden. Will use again.

I had a very negative experience on receiving the plants, but customer support got in touch and rectified things quickly. In my book, this is good enough. So I'm updating this review to reflect my overall experience. Thanks again to Gill from Customer Services.

Plants poor quality, late in arriving and sometimes damaged.

Dismal service. I ordered and paid for some plants. After more than two weeks they had still not come. I contacted Beth Chatto and they had just been forgotten. They offered me free postage off a future order. When I decided to buy a plant from them, I couldn’t because they demanded a minimum spend of £21 and I only wanted one plant. Their remedy was worthless. I feel I’ve been treated with contempt.

They have now agreed to refund me the postal costs, which has improved them in my eyes.
