Ordered the table and immediately…

Ordered the table and immediately realised I had used the wrong details as I wanted to pay with Klarna. Immediately emailed to ask if order could be cancelled and I can then re order. I was told no the next day in writing because it had been shipped already, but I can return for a refund and then re order. They are now saying I cannot do this? This correspondence has taken over 2 weeks, and for 2 weeks the table has been sitting there, unopened, waiting to return. I wanted this table but couldn't afford to pay outright. Has left such a nasty taste in my mouth now and don't understand how now they are refusing a return?? Very bad customer service. Disappointed.

Positive Experience with Bera Design Shop – Quality Lift-Top Table and Reliable Delivery

I recently ordered a lift-top table from Bera Design Shop and wanted to share my experience because, before ordering, I was honestly a bit hesitant. I had seen some negative reviews online and that initially made me unsure about placing an order. However, after speaking directly with the company and receiving my product, I can say that my experience has been very positive.

The ordering process was straightforward and the delivery service worked well. The table arrived in good condition and matched the expectations I had from the product description. The lift-top mechanism works smoothly and the overall build quality feels solid. I had already seen the same table at a friend’s home before ordering, which gave me confidence that it was a good product, and the one I received was exactly the same.

Because of the reviews I had seen earlier, I asked the company directly about them. They explained that their lift-top table has been one of the best-selling products in the market for the past few years and that they believe some negative comments may come from unethical competitors trying to harm their reputation. Whether that is the case or not, I can only speak about my own experience, which has been smooth and satisfactory.

Bera Design Shop appears to be a family-run business and from my interaction they were responsive and willing to answer questions. Based on my purchase and the delivery experience, I did not encounter any issues and I am satisfied with the product.

Feels happy

recently purchased an extendable coffee table from Bera Design and overall I’m very satisfied with the experience. The design is modern and exactly as shown on the website. What impressed me most was the functionality — the extension mechanism works smoothly and feels solid, which was important for us since we needed something practical for a smaller living space.

Delivery took slightly longer than initially expected, but the team kept me updated and responded to my emails in a professional manner. The item arrived well packaged and without damage. Assembly was straightforward with clear instructions.

The quality matches the price point. It’s sturdy, stylish, and has genuinely upgraded the look of our living room. I also appreciate that the company offers a clear returns policy and warranty, which adds reassurance when purchasing furniture online.

Overall, a good experience and I would consider ordering from Bera Design again.

Extremely frustrating experience – product flaws and unacceptable customer service

The product design itself is smart and the main materials feel sturdy. However, the legs are plastic, visually cheap, and completely inconsistent with the rest of the design in terms of quality and color. That alone was disappointing for a product at this price point.

The real problem, however, was the assembly and the customer service.

The holes on the outer box and the inner metal structure do not align. We tried every possible way to assemble it. On top of that, the support panel was missing from the box, which made the already difficult assembly even harder. you have to hold up a very heavy structure while trying to fix parts that don’t even align properly.

When I contacted customer service, the experience became even worse.

They reply roughly every 12 days. Each response appears to be AI-generated, repetitive, and does not properly address what I explain. They insisted I assemble it in a different way. I clearly explained that doing so would leave bolts unsecured. They told me to do it anyway. I followed their instructions, and as expected, the frame did not attach to the base panel because the bolts were left unsupported.

After more than a month of effort, messages, photos, and waiting, I asked for a partial refund.

They claimed they had been trying to reach me by phone. This is simply not true. There were no missed calls and no voicemails. Communication has been slow, unclear, and repeatedly delayed. After each message, they disappear for another 12 days.

I have never experienced customer service like this before.

For a coffee table at this price, this level of product inconsistency and customer support is unacceptable. I gave them many chances and waited patiently for over a month hoping for a resolution.

I am still willing to update this review if they resolve the issue properly. But as it stands, this has been extremely disappointing.

Complaint - wrong item and no response to my emails

This company have sent me completely the wrong item which is now in a box in my living room awaiting collection. I have sent 3 emails of complaint with no response. Now they have asked me to write a review so have left me no alternative but write a bad review. Terrible service. If you can’t collect this incorrect delivery and send the correct item, then process a refund. Someone needs to contact me about this!

Appalling quality

Appalling quality, badly packaged rubbish that looks good in images but that's it! Still waiting for them to collect after two weeks and nobody replies will be going through credit card company to recoup losses.

To echo what other reviews state

To echo what other reviews state, it’s a great concept, but very poorly executed. It does have the potential to be such a great table but quality and company’s bussiness is handled just negates any positives.

The legs are hollow plastic and is not clearly stated within the description. Up close they are just so cheap looking.
My item was delivered to the wrong address, Bera had placed the wrong address on the label, how? unsure as I provided the correct address. Box arrived severely damaged and screws and hardware had been lost due to the this. They was a few in the courtyard having fell out the box.

I know FedEx and how they handle the package is not directly Beras fault,but they stated this is out of their control. They essentially stated that fragile tape isn’t ours or acknowledge this issue which under UK consumer law, the company is responsible for the full order and it’s safe delivery to the consumer..end to end. So their lack of acknowledgment displayed lack of company professionalism and awareness and their duty as a business to customers.

Contacted them to state the table was damaged, was offered £50 then £100…which at first with the missing parts being sent, at first I thought was alright but, on closer inspection of the table, reviews…then I finally behold the plastic legs…the cost of it I was just over it. Coupled with the we will update you once the spare parts are sent promises,no sight of that part refund..I kinda just had enough. Asked via their chat for them to arrange pick up but alas…no response so by frustration as I actaully really needed the table for work…I raised a dispute, because I was over it, so many issues with one order. Ended up going elsewhere to get something that fitted the requirements we needed.

Update: they sent the spare parts which came in such a battered box, a huge box for the screws which were placed in ziplock bags that being flung about, it came undone and lost half the parts.

Dispute raised and no replies to asking them to collect this item. They should be aware regardless if FedEx has caused damage my contract is with them, not FedEx. We shall wait and see the outcome.

I advise that Bera look at better packaging and courier. Look at some of the quality such as the legs to elevate what is as I stated a really great idea.

A dispute went in our favour after a few weeks, Bera never responded to arranging a return. So yes I’d say beware before purchase. these reviews are also echoed in their 3 other trust pilot sites for various regions.

Totally unresponsive

Had no communication whatsoever since placing an order for a dining table and seating. The items are now overdue and there seems no way of contacting this company. Makes me wonder if it is in fact fake.

I would advise anyone to avoid this company. I'm happy to take this review down if Bera Design deems to contact me.

Poor quality fittings

Poor quality fittings. It seems that a page of the fitting instructions was missing. Multipersons required to build. Plastic legs, plastic fittings easily breaking and not fit for the purpose. Very expensive item seemed repacked after someone else’s return it. Scratches in one of the panel. Daylight rubbery.

Memphis Wooden Writing Desk with 2 Drawers

Hello there, I have ordered Memphis desk for £179.99. Tomorrow it will be two weeks ago. It said takes 1-2 days handling time and then standard delivery. Still nothing arrived. Tracker still says awaiting fulfilment ( whatever that means ) . I have written 3 emails to them no reply. I left two messages on their online chat - no come back. Non existing communication . No money back, no delivery time ... My recomendation avoid. They were great to take my money though.

Coffee table

For an expensive piece of furniture which came in a reasonably good delivery timeframe since it came from America. I was surprised that the legs are a cheap plastic mould and detract so much from the rest of the table I resorted to purchasing some different legs from B&Q. Generally it was relatively easy to put together though one insert was missing so I had to create an alternative solution. One fastener on the table proved impossible to fit so i have had to hope the other fasteners are enough to hold the table mechanism together. The spring release arrangement while operational really could do with more thought since it sticks and then is difficult to close

If there's an issue they don't respond

I ordered a 'Magic Toscana Extendable Coffee Dining Table' in May 2025. On 25th July 2025 it arrived and it wasn't the correct version. Also, the quality was not what I expected for the money; On the version sent the legs had plastic covers and the carpentry was poor. The idea of these tables is good, but they failed to execute.

I explained the problem in various emails and via the chat. In the chat they said they would deal with it, that was on 8th August and zero response via email.
The table still sits here waiting for some instructions on how to return it.

Given the incorrect and poor quality of the goods I received and non-existent customer service I would not be going to this company again for anything - beware..

I paid £395 for a Zen extendable coffee table. It arrived with a damaged table top.

Eleanor at Bera Design's customer services agreed to arrange collection collection and a refund for the damaged table. I requested a full refund as having seen the product, I was not happy that the quality of a replacement would be satisfactory either.

18 days later, despite multiple assurances by Bera Designs that the table would be collected and that I would be given a refund neither has happened.

The quality of their customer service has, unfortunately, matched the quality of the product delivered i.e. terrible.

They had my phone number and could have called me and spoken to me directly at any point to resolve the issue in a responsible way, as they were obliged to do. They did not.

I was very let down and was been forced to initiate charge back proceedings with my card issuer.

Based on my experience I cannot recommend Bera Designs as a reputable company.

Update 03/09/2025

Oh dear, several untruths from Bera in their response below.

"Unfortunately, the table was damaged during shipment by FedEx, which was outside of our control"

As demonstrated by the photos I sent, this is not true. The packaging was not damaged at all. The product clearly left the factory in a damaged state due to poor quality control procedures.

"As a gesture of goodwill, we issued you a full refund without requiring the damaged (but still functional) table to be returned to us.

This is not true. Bera itself did not refund the money. I created a chargeback claim with my card insurer and my card issuer refunded the money because I had a valid dispute.

As indicated in my email, the table was not functional, in addition to the damaged table top, the lifting mechanism would not release and did not work. Bera did not leave it with me as a gesture of good will as claimed, but abandoned the broken table with me for me to dispose of at the local tip as they were too lazy to arrange collection properly.

Your claims are unfounded. The table left our facility in perfect condition; any damage occurred during FedEx transit, which is outside our control.

The refund was processed the moment your chargeback was raised — had we contested it, you might have waited months. Suggesting otherwise is inaccurate.

The table was left with you as a goodwill gesture. Given your conduct, that goodwill is withdrawn. A FedEx return label will be sent by email, and you are required to return the item without delay.

We do not accept misrepresentation of facts or hostility. Our policies exist for fair and reasonable customers, not for those who misuse them.

À fuir!!

À fuir ! Je ne comprends même pas les avis positifs, il doit y avoir forcément des faux clients parmi eux... J'ai commandé une table sur leur site courant avril 2025 et j'ai reçu une table avec plein de défauts, chaque pièce était abîmée alors que le carton d'emballage ne l'était pas... après avoir fait une réclamation via PayPal, ils m'ont proposé de m'en renvoyer une sans défaut mais si je clôturerais AVANT ma réclamation PayPal (à savoir qu'il ne faut jamais faire ça...). Je leur ai fait confiance et l'ai clôturé, et depuis début mai je n'ai jamais reçu cette table et ils ne m'ont jamais envoyé la preuve avec le numéro de suivi malgré mes relances constantes. J'ai réussi à réouvrir ma réclamation PayPal (clôture suite à leur chantage, disons le clairement) et ils ont proposé que je retourne la table défectueuse en ayant les frais de retour (une centaine d'euros) et de douane (200€) de ma poche donc j'étais carrément perdante financièrement. Ils ont finalement accepté de me rembourser 100€ sans renvoyer la table défectueuse (qui allait me revenir beaucoup beaucoup plus cher que le prix d'origine, surtout vu la qualité médiocre du produit). Cela fait maintenant 2 semaines qu'ils disent avoir procédé à ce petit remboursement partiel et je n'ai toujours rien reçu à ce jour, ni même la preuve de ce remboursement. De gros arnaqueurs, menteurs et voleurs, à fuir !!! Et quand je partage mon histoire sur les raisons pour avertir les gens, ils disent que c'est de la diffamation alors que tout est vrai et vérifiable, ayant tous les messages à l'appui. Je ne m'arrêterai pas là et des démarches seront lancées auprès d'associations de consommateurs de l'UFC Que choisir et de Consumers International. Scandaleux de voler et traiter les gens comme ça !

PS : en réponse à votre message, j'ai eu des échanges de mails avec vous depuis Avril 2025 jusqu'à ce matin et les résolutions proposées vous ne les avez jamais mises en application. Vous n'avez JAMAIS renvoyé la table sans défaut, jamais eu le numéro de suivi comme preuve d'ailleurs. Le petit remboursement partiel a finalement (enfin) été réalisé ce jour suite à ce commentaire et reçu, ce qui reste une maigre consolation pour une table payée très chère avec une qualité médiocre...je maintiens mon avis car j'ai clairement été perdante dans cette transaction et que pour moi les 100€ sont absolument négligeables et qu'il faut informer les clients des risques qu'ils ont à passer par votre entreprise, changement de direction ou pas. Le client n'a pas à être victime d'un changement de direction ou que sais-je.

Nous regrettons que cette cliente ne soit pas satisfaite de son expérience, mais nous ne partageons pas la manière dont la situation a été présentée.

La table livrée était un produit de première qualité, identique à celui que nous envoyons à tous nos clients. Lors du transport international de Londres à la France, il est possible que de légères marques superficielles soient apparues sur l’emballage ou le produit — ce sont des choses qui peuvent malheureusement se produire pendant un transport longue distance. Toutefois, rien n’indiquait que l’article était défectueux ou inutilisable.

Il est important de préciser que ce problème remonte à une période antérieure à la reprise de la société par la nouvelle direction. Nous avons été informés de la situation très récemment, et dès que cela a été le cas, nous avons pris contact via nos nouvelles coordonnées et avons immédiatement versé un remboursement de 100€ à titre de geste commercial — depuis un compte personnel, compte tenu des circonstances. La cliente a bien accusé réception de ce remboursement et nous a remerciés à plusieurs reprises.

Nous comprenons qu’un client puisse être frustré lorsque les choses ne se passent pas comme prévu, et nous respectons chaque avis honnête. Cependant, nous croyons en l’équité des deux côtés. Les plateformes publiques ne devraient pas être utilisées comme outil de pression ou de discrédit à l’encontre d’une entreprise, surtout après qu’une solution a été apportée de bonne foi.

Nous restons disponibles pour résoudre tout problème légitime et continuons à améliorer notre service.

6 in 1 coffee table

I ordered a Magic Anthracite Extendable Coffee & Dining Table 6 in 1 on 18th June. It was due for delivery on 9th July, which I accepted as I wasn't in any particular rush.
There was an issue with the billing address being different to the delivery address, as the website automatically changed the different delivery address on the first page, so if this is the case for any future customers, I'd recommend going back to the first page to check this hasn't happened.

After many emails backwards and forwards, Elinor managed to sort it and also advised that delivery would be earlier than the original eta. It arrived in two packages on 25th June two weeks early.

The instructions for building the table needed a little bit of interpretation as the different screws weren't immediately obvious, but I'd recommend separating all parts first and checking against the list, and keeping the different screw sizes separately.
Even though it looks like real wood, it cleans easily and cup rings disappear with a damp cloth. Overall, I am very happy with the versality and quality of the table for the price.

A beautiful and functional table - highly recommend

I have ordered a "Magic White Extendable Coffee & Dining Table 6 in 1" on 18 June. All packages arrived today, 26 June. The assemble instructions can be use some improvement. The nuts and bolts should be labelled on the diagrams. Nonetheless, I have assembled it correctly and it is as beautiful and functional as I have imagined. Nice jobs.

A little side story. It came in 2 packages but it was not mentioned in the emails Bera Design sent. The delivery company, FedEx, did show 2 item for the tracking number. However, the first package was delivered yesterday. And the courier confirmed there was only a single package. Okay, I thought. Let me check what was inside. Oh, no. I was sure there were missing parts. I went back to the tracking page. All it said was delivered. A second package was not mentioned anywhere.

I wrote an email to Berea Design to ask about the missing parts. I was panic because I had read reviews mentioned some buyers did not get a respond for months.

Luckily, I have got a reply today and the CS Team confirmed me that there were 2 packages. The service was much better than I anticipated. Hooray, the second package arrive in the afternoon!

Bera Design should be avoided

Bera Design have been nothing but a headache of an experience. I ordered my table on the 1st January and I was waiting and hadn't heard anything from them for a few weeks so contacts them. They didn't reply so I got back in touch again and they said there had been an issue with FedEx and would update me. I didn't get updated until I contacted for an update and they apologised and offered me 5% compensation for my inconvenience. I then contacted again at a later date and they cancelled the order, issued the refund and didn't reorder me my item or try resending it, or give me the compensationthey previouly said they would(Every time i would contact they would just offer a refund rather than help resolve the issue) I thought I would try again this time using my credit card. I am glad I did use my credit card but wish I didn't try again at all. I ordered again and this time there was an issue with the vessel. I was told this was the first time they had an issue which was an obvious lie as I already had an issue with an order before ( unless the issue was a lie). Again I only got any updates from me contacting and again not really offering to help but just offering a refund. After 5 months of waiting and no product and extremely poor customer service I have officially given up and will be telling people to avoid this company at all cost.
Please please dont ignore the negative reviews they are there for a reason. I dont usually write reviews but I dont want anyone else going through this headache
