Their van almost drove into me at a train station - reflects poorly on the company

Review dated today but visits to Bennetts were over last 4 weeks and a couple last year. Recently needed brake parts and all consumables, oils and filters for for full service on 2003 Nissan X-Trail auto. Everything I needed in stock. In addition also needed shifter control cable for 2005 Nissan Micra auto gear lever. In the end it had to be OEM from main stealer but staff at Bennetts could not have done more to try and find one without me having to revert to OEM. Not their fault and hardly a high demand part they will ever get asked for again so no surprise but at least they gave it their best shot. Today I had to return unopened a couple of the brake parts and 5 liters of oil I over bought. Staff just as helpful as when I bought them even though it took them a lot more time and faffing on their stock system while they processed the refund. Although I do quite a fair amount of work this is in a private capacity so I do not have a trade account. Their prices were comparable with others and better than some. I only started using them last year after I became dissatisfied with another factors nearby I had used for years as their service became lacklustre, bordering on rude at times and a general indifference towards non trade customers. Someone else in the trade in Dunmow recommended Bennetts and I tried them. So pleased I did. Always a friendly hello when you go in. Super helpful and apart from the oddball Micra cable always seem to have what I want in stock or get it there pretty soon afterwards. I also like that while they are putting in your order on the computer and doing your invoice there is someone out the back getting it together and who brings it to the counter or if heavy and multiple items to your car outside in their easy parking spot. I don’t do as much of this work as I used to but for me the Dunmow branch will be my Go To for as long as they stay there, the service stays as high and I need parts and accessories. Do they pass the friends, family and petrol head mates test. Yes.

I was desperately hunting down an obscure starter motor, and chanced into their Royston Store, after GSF failed to "click and collect".

Chap behind the counter really went the extra mile in trying to find one for me, trying various suppliers, even part refurbishers, in the area to see if anyone had stock.

Eventually, using a different part code, he found another Bennetts store localish had one, and checked with them to make sure that they actually had it in stock - Thanks to the Huntingdon branch for being bothered to physically check the shelf for me - in stock with them and collected with no hassle other than a bit of a trek.

Really appreciated the effort to track one down, got me out of trouble - Thank you.

It`s Friday Afternoon and it`s roasting hot. After diagnosing an ABS fault on site at a new customers house, I called Bennetts to find out if they had a sensor. Phone signal was very poor but I managed to order the part and it was delivered to me just as I removed the old sensor. Which is impressive considering that I was in Wood End and they are in Lichfield. I have two (2) other suppliers that I could have used who are much closer to the location where I was working (one in birch coppice and the other in Tame valley), but I chose to use Bennetts because of their communication and customer service. Good job Guys.

Lost the mirror part from my wing mirror on my vw golf. They had one in. I was served quickly and politely. They even fitted it for me. 10/10

Cambridge branch . This man was the most unhelpful chap I ever have had to deal with . I recon it’s because was female . Spoke to me like I’m an idiot . I’ll stick to euro car parts or gsf

Very helpful staff at the Bishops Stortford branch, couldn’t have been more help or professional and polite. I only needed two side light bulbs for a BMW, tried BMW round the corner and couldn’t face paying £42 for the smallest bulbs ever. Bennett’s, charged £13 for two bulbs! All fitted and working, very happy. Great price, great service.

My oil cap came off whilst on the motorway heading to Manchester. We made a quick detour to Bennett’s at Cannock and the staff were absolutely fantastic and went out of their way to help us . They found two possible oil caps and the first one fitted the car perfectly. A massive thanks to everyone at Bennetts Cannock

Been using Bennett’s in Huntingdon for past week for brake parts. Fantastic service, staff friendly and very helpful. Cheaper than the internet.
I will no longer bother with the internet.
