I received a quick response to my request and the document I needed was sent immediately.

I enrolled onto the Higher National Certificate in Interior Design at BAID last July. I’ve so far completed 4 assignments and already feel like I have learnt so much. I’m enjoying learning new skills like presenting design ideas to clients and how to create technical drawings and concept boards.

I chose to enrol onto the online course which means that there are no hard deadlines for the assignment submissions and I have up to 3 years to complete the course. This provides me with some flexibility in which to manage the course workload alongside my job. Information about the course including details of each assignment is accessible at any time via the online learning portal which is really helpful and convenient. The portal is also home to a lot of useful resources like educational videos, reading materials and a student forum.

Some of the assignments have been rather lengthy and, at times, confusing which can feel a little isolating when studying online from home. I would appreciate more opportunities in which to interact and share learnings with other students taking the same course as I feel like this would be really beneficial to my studies and overall experience. However, I am eligible to one tutor session per unit and my tutor, Rita Marques, has been very supportive, sharing detailed and thoughtful responses to any questions that I’ve had so far.

Started my course 2023 and it has been going well. It wasn’t easy in the beginning.. getting around with drawing packages mostly coz I ain’t good at drawing but it is getting better with time. My tutor (Rita) has been helpful and supportive. Hoping to continue learning and getting more knowledgeable about interior design because it’s my passion.

The last star will be for when I graduate.

I enrolled on this course last October, I have passed two assignments so far. I work full-time which is why it’s taking me some time, but my Tutor Rita Marques has been very supportive and gives great feedback to enable me to complete assignments successfully. I enjoy creating the assignments, and the research is very interesting. The course layout has been updated, this feels more organised. You can also submit your work for feedback before final submission - which is great. Some assignments are quite challenging and it would be helpful if they provided more information for complex skills, for example to-scale-drawing. They do have some videos which I find extremely helpful.

As a student enrolled in the BAID program, I have found the journey through my interior design course so far to be enjoyable. The assignments provided have not only challenged me but have also allowed me to explore and develop my creative abilities.

While maintaining motivation can sometimes be a challenge, the support and guidance offered by the tutors have been invaluable. Their willingness to assist with any questions or concerns has greatly contributed to my progress and overall learning experience.

Overall, I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of education provided by the BAID program. It has equipped me with knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a career in interior design, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it.

Thoroughly enjoying my course so far. I opted for the remote online study option (Higher National Certificate) which is largely self-directed. The learning portal is easy to follow and the course materials provide a wealth of comprehensive information.

To improve the course it would be beneficial to start each module with a video lecture introducing the subject first, rather than diving straight into the reading material. When I initially started studying I did find this to be lacking, however I since got used to the study format. This is my main reason for 4 rather than 5 starts.

My experience with the course tutors so far as been great. They have replied swiftly and have been very helpful in guiding me through my studies. All communication for the remote online courses is via email only, there are no options for video calls. Personally, I would have found calls helpful rather than communicating in writing, however this is primarily due to how I prefer to learn.

I have enrolled a few years ago, and I am stuck on one assignment in particular. Apart from the lack of time available to complete and personal reasons, the issue I have been facing since the get go are the assignment descriptions and the tutors. I keep going but the help is limited, no real support on what sources are needed for completing the tasks.
The assignments are not clea, very generic, it is hard to understand what is needed until you submit the assignment and fail it. Once you get your feedback then you strat to understand a bit more what it was required. Most of the time, I email the tutor for clarifications, and even though at times they are satisfactory, most of the times they are contradictory. Many times, I was advised on how to do something and then, when i submitted the assignment, the feedback advised i should have done the opposite. Other times I got told to change certain parts, submitted it again and failed it, again! as more negative feedback arose which was not mentioned the first time. If I could get a refund I definitely would!
Really struggling to see how I can complete this assignment (let alone the course!) as the feedback is just unhelpful and puts you down despite the months you spent on doing it.

I have enrolled in this course hoping for a career change.
Interior Design has been a passion of mine for a very long time.

Since starting this course, I feel that I have been learning so much. This is not like any other courses I have experienced before where it’s mainly focused on reading and reading some more.
So, even if the career change won’t materialise, I will regardless have learned something new and interesting.

Baid course gives us the opportunity to explore all our potential, as it pushes our skills to the max by applying them to things we have never done before.
This can be overwhelming and intense at times as the assignments can be long and the course notes very extensive and detailed, which in turn is also very good information to learn from and use in respective assignments.
My Tutor has always been very supportive and helpful on my assignments, even when I question my own confidence in the ability to finish assignments, the support and encouragement was always there.
Questions, doubts, or any information I required was always met with a very quick reply, and the same goes for everyone in the support team.

I believe this course provides you with a unique sense of learning due to the “hands on” approach as well as the structure of the assignments. Would highly recommend it!

The company is helpful and all the staff are friendly and beyond willing to help. The staff answer emails in a timeous manner. The content is also easy to work through. Thank you!

It is a good course for dedicated students but you must be willing to give it time and a lot of effort to even pass. No shortcuts . I am currently struggling to make time for the course as I have two under two but I hope for the best. Tutors respond to queries reasonably quickly however I wish there was more help and examples of assignments on hand.

I enrolled for an online 6 week interior design course in March 2024. From my very first communication everyone I dealt with was professional friendly and clear on guidance and support throughout. I started the course on 16 April and the tutor Sophia Kokkins was excellent. Unfortunately I struggled with the online tutoring being an older student.
I rang BAID and spoke with Aisling Barrett she was absolutely amazing. I was prepared to give up but she persuaded me to have time to think and if I still felt the same it was no problem. She also discussed alternatives to the online course. She was so professional and friendly I felt so reassured she is a credit to the organisation. I have decided not to continue with the online and may pursue the classroom based teaching which after talking to Aisling seems may be the best option for me.
I highly recommend if you are choosing to study interior design this organisation should be your choice.

It is a truly enjoyable course which helps future designers develop their skills professionally. Catarina is a very helpful tutor :)
The only thing that I would love to have changed is the lead time to receive assignment results but other than that i'm pleased with the course :)

Although the course is tough, being a home-based student with a full-time job, the course is well structured and the materials are well produced. Tutors give great in-depth feedback to help you move forward with each assignment and I'm really enjoying the course. BIG shout out to Andrea Martins and Joao in the Student Services team who are incredible. Thank you for your kindness and support in helping me reach my goals.

I spent a lot of time comparing online learning institutions to study Interior Design in my own time, BAID offered both the longest term for completion of studies, and the most choice for levels of study.

My experience of learning with them is completely positive. Student services are always helpful, and the course tutors are patient, kind and extremely supportive. They accommodate my very specific needs and are always compassionate and encouraging.

Would highly recommend.

The program at the academy is very extensive. A lot of detailed theory and additional material. There is also a lot of step-by-step information in completing practical tasks. And the most important thing is that the tutor are in touch throughout the entire training period. The tutor gives a detailed answer to the question and advice on how best to do it.

I would definitely recommend this course. I decided to study the Certificate course in Interior Design as I had minimal knowledge and work full time. The flexibility of time to complete the assignments has supported my learning. The content of the course is very interesting with clear guidance to other learning materials to support. It is a well structured course with support available from a personal tutor.

I have recently started Higher National Diploma in Interior design as it has felt like the right time in life for a gear and route change after studies, settling and starting a family. My tutor has been incredibly supportive and helpful whilst I find my feet as a mature student with a lot on my plate, it has been challenging finding my student self again but I can not rate the whole process highly enough, the time taken as I decided which course to enrol on, getting started and very quick responses to any questions asked. also the feedback from assignment submissions has been incredibly helpful to my learning journey. The course content and supportive material provided offers great depth of information to refer back to whilst you complete the assignments set. I am hugely enjoying studying with BAID and feel confident that I will graduate with great depth of knowledge and experience.

Having been disappointed by an online
interior design course I had previously completed, I was looking for an institution that offered a quality, higher education course. The materials provided online are rich and of high quality; the tutors are experienced, supportive professionals available whenever you may need them. My tutor, Rita, always provides prompt and thoughtful feedback. The amount of time needed to take full advantage of the materials provided and to complete the course should not be underestimated. It is wise to seek advice from the school when choosing the right course for your needs. Many students are surprised at how demanding the course can be, but it is reassuring to know that quality, industry standards are expected.
